It was $849 in mid June.. They've jacked up the price so you spend that extra $150 Good Guys gift card in their store!

    • But there is $150 cash back which makes it $849 AND on top of $849 there is vouchers added as well

      • +1

This is why I like ozB, valuable information.

      • +2

Yes, that was also the case in June ($150 Fujitsu cash back), plus the $60 GG voucher. I bought one for my parents.

        • +1

It was an $80 voucher back then, and I got like $85 off in store by using it immediately on a range hood instead of waiting for a voucher.

          • @Alzori: Yep, think you're right

          • +1

@Alzori: I bought it 17th of June - $849 - $150cashback + $80store credit. Pretty good deal, but I had to chase tgg for the voucher!

            • +1

@Powlie85: Yep, I bought 13th June, and was the same deal as you.

    • This sort of behaviour should be under false advertising

      • -2

Why, it is just business, supply & demand. I haven't checked but if this is the best price at the moment then it IS a bargain.

        • There are laws in place to protect you from being misled about the products and services you buy.
Examples of false or misleading claims

Some examples of business behaviour that might be misleading are:
a mobile phone provider signs you up to a contract without telling you that there is no coverage in your region
a real estate agent misinforms you about the characteristics of a property by advertising 'beachfront lots' that are not on the beach

a jewellery store advertises that a watch 'was' $200 and is 'now' $100 when the store never sold the watch for $200

It makes no difference whether the business intended to mislead you or not. If the overall impression left by a business’s advertisement, promotion, quotation, statement or other representation creates a misleading impression in your mind—such as to the price, value or the quality of any goods and services—then the behaviour is likely to breach the law.

          • @funnysht: OK so you are 100% sure the NEVER sold it for $999 at any stage in the past?

  • Can I price match at The Good Guys?

  • +1

May be can try get it reduced by $151 with price match to this https://www.retravision.com.au/fujitsu-setastg09kmtc

    • Yep, this is the way to do it. Very easy to do, I just bought the 3.5kw unit. Price matched to Retravision, stacked with the Fujitsu bonus cash and GG egift card.

  • +8

    Seems pricey for 2.5kw

  • Guys, any advise on this situation pls… in one of our unit in Sydney existing split system is broken and need to have it replaced. Our PM ran through some quotes and cheapest came out to be ~1800 for 5kw Mitsubishi system. What's the best way to arrange this remotely…

    • That's a reasonable price if you don't need to lift a finger yourself. Bunnings sell the Mitsubishi heavy industries 5.1kw for $1215, and if the old unit isn't too old, you'll be able to reuse the copper piping, etc, so you should be able to get the old one replaced by a fridgey electrician without needing to replace all the other hardware. Obviously there are cheaper brands you could buy (eg, Carrier).

      • cheers. Guy who quoted the 1800 did mention he will need to redo the piping due to old unit was fit during lesser regulation days. Given its rental and split unit is located in living room, i wonder going with lesser kw will be economical….2.5kw? there should b a price difference between 5 kw and lesser systems i would think

        • The install price will be the same, so you're only saving a few hundred on the unit by undersizing it. But then you're exposing yourself to issues. At best the unit will be overworked and have a shorter life. At worst it won't work right from the start and you'll have to do the job again.

      • My rental doesn't have heating and we're planning to install a 7.1kw split system. Is this overkill? Or would a 5.1kw do the job? It'll be installed in the living room

        • The capacity is related to the size of room. If the capacity is not right, you will end up either can’t heat up/cool down the room or the compressor will be on/off very frequently (reduce the life span).

On Wednesday, all of these plus10% shopback (yes, it was eligible) , got it down to the mid five hundreds, I didn't pull the trigger.
Still possible for five hundreds in the future I think, if you want to wait.
I bought a Toshiba 3.5kw, 1250 installed replacing an exiting unit.

    • could you share further details abt Toshiba one pls….did you install yourself or some sort of package deal? could you point us to that

  • Hi guys

I got the goMastercard, i want to buy this under finance 24 months.

    Aircon $999
Installation as an option at checkout :$649

    Total: $1648

If i choose to pay under finance for 24months, will the total amount of $1648 accepted as finance? Or only the $999 accepted as finance and $649 as cash advance?

    Thanks

    • If you pay 649 you are getting ripped off. I generally pay between 350 to 450 per back to back install. Don't get fooled into being told that the bigger yours ystem is, the more expensive it is. Being winter, the installer are not busy, so shop around, so you don't pay even close to 649.

      • All the quotes in my area of North Coast Queensland were $550

      • Tips appreciated. Especially for VIC

Is this stackable with discounts on GG gift cards?

    • Yes,i paid with GG gift cards and price match too

  • Approx how much does it cost to get this installed?

    • $600

    • Depends if single or double story. I had an additional Mitsubishi Heavy industries 2.5kw for my infant's room upstairs for $800 install including bracket and $770 for the unit. That included the required certs for your insurance.

  • Able to pricematch Fujitsu 2.5KW at Good Guys Prospect for $849. Also applied for goodguys $150 redemption and Fujitsu $150 redemption.

    • Which store did you get them to pricematch with?

      • Pricematched with https://www.retravision.com.au/fujitsu-setastg09kmtc at goodguys store.

        Try to book through phone call, final price would $488 [$848 - $150 TGG GC - $150 Fujistu GC - $60 store credit}

        • Don't think phone purchase is eligible for the $60 store credit as it's for online purchase only. I'm surprised they price matched retravision as there is no retravision stores in NSW.

          • @runamuck: Yeah, I see $60 store credit not valid for phone purchase.

Pricematch was quite straight forward, when I asked store representative about pricematch, he went to his manager for approval, couple of mins later he approved it for $849.

    • @manugunta can you please share the good guys redemption link?
      Thank you

Thank you OP for sharing this deal.

      • Thank you @manugunta.somehow the link doesn't work for me. I am thinking the gift card may be state specific or may be store. I am in Victoria.

        • +1

Definitely works in Victoria. Just processed a sale with this earlier tonight. Though I'm not sure if it's applicable for your model.

  • +1

Retravision have bumped their price to $998 lol.
Can still price match with powerland - just did it now.

    https://www.powerland.com.au/fujitsu-25kw-cool-32kw-heat-spl…

    • Which store did you price match with? I've spoken to three stores and all have refused to match the $869 price. The best they could do was $959. One store agreed to reduce the price to $840 but advised I would not be eligible for the $150 TGG eGift Card. I was advise this was due to them having reduced the ticked price which means you become ineligible for the Gift Card.
