        • Grinder is definitely gutless, but the portability more than makes up for it. No way I'd use my heavy corded grinder single handed on a ladder.

I'll be investing in the brushless one if I ever need to do a warranty exchange though, happy to pay the extra $40 for more power

    • Picked up that kit for $160 from my local bunnings (it was the last kit there). So you might find more clearance ones around. I haven't opened it yet but I am more happy with a jigsaw compared to an angle grinder (I do more wood word and already have a reciprocating saw). The single battery in the kit is a bit of a let down, but I have more PXC batteries from other kits.

      • Hey mate, which store if you don’t mind?

Also any chance of receipt? My local had it at $249

        • Yeah my local had it for $249 too… Which really isn't all that attractive unless you need all of the tools.

I already had the drill driver and impact driver from another deal.

Doubt you could sell the drill and impact for much…

          • @edrift: I did a project a while back with my old man; he has 2x Impact Drive and 2x Drill, these were Fatmax clearance models he bought for cheap, and I found having two sets VERY useful. No more shuffling tools around when you want to pre-drill etc… Two impact drive is a bit more niche but nonetheless I wouldn't mind having two sets my self if the opportunity comes.

@OpayuOnam: Oh yeah it has its uses… But I already have 2 cordless drills and one impact driver… I don't think a third cordless drill is warranted for me.

The ozito drill is pretty terrible though… I'm glad I got the brushless hammer drill from Supercheap auto on sale.

No complaints about the ozito impact driver… Not the strongest but a great tool nonetheless.
The 150Nm rating is fake… Struggles for many bolts.

              • @edrift: Oh really? I was looking forward to using drill/impact in this kit… But now you have prepared me disappointment, specially that I have been used to my dad's Fatmax which is a pretty decent kit. Well if they are very bad I will just get the brushless ones from Ozito.

Also fair enough, 3 drills is going to be an overkill.

I got it at the Vermont store, as mentioned this was the last ozito kit they had. There were a couple of DeWalt and Ryobi kits on clearance as well.

          Here is the receipt (redacted):

          Good luck.

          • @OpayuOnam: Nice one.
There was one lone box left at Nunawading but scanned at full price.
I think because it's one of the busier stores they never reduce any of the power tools there

            • @edrift: Nunawading Bunnings is madness, funnily enough I was actually in the area and went to the Nunawading store first but as soon as I saw the car que and people que outside I drove off and went to the Vermont Bunnings to pick what I needed on the way home. I guess it was faith so I could meet this bargain 😅

          • @OpayuOnam: I tried to price match at Nunawading but sadly they wouldn't do it.

Oh well it was worth a shot. Thanks for sharing!

            • @edrift: No worries mate, I half suspected that anyways. Price match with other stores has only worked for me in the smaller less busy stores.

  • Are the $10 screwdrivers magnetic?

  • Electric screwdriver is pretty decent. It came with 3 speed settings. Have not actually use it in any project yet. I can see it come into handy for light work. When I have time I will compare it with my Bosch professional GO 2 also a 3.6V driver. The Bosch costs about 4x the Ferrex.

  • I'll buy a charger if anyone is selling

  • +2

Have a go with Ferrex electric screwdriver today. I also have the Bosch Pro Go2 3.6V and the Black&Decker 3.6V. The Ferrex is the weakest of the 3. The Bosch could drive the screw twice as deep into a piece of wood than the Ferrex. The B&D is in between. The Bosch has 6 mechanical clutch settings which I can tell the difference at each setting. The Ferret has 3 torque level but I don't feel it as much. When the torque is above the setting, the Bosch slip to protect the screw (and my wrist) while the Ferrex just suddenly stop resulting in a slight jolt to the wrist. Bosch has the added advantage of push start and lockup for manual screwing. The Ferrex Bits is CRV metal, which is decent. Overall, I am happy with the Ferrex for the price paid. It is much better (stronger) than my 3.7v WOW stick, that has been left unloved.

The Ferrex USB charging port is the better USB-C type. While the Bosch is microusb

    • Thanks for the review. Can the Ferrex also be used for manual screwing?

      • +1

There is no lock out function for manual screwing.

        • Got one. Pretty good for $25.

          • +1

@rokufan: I picked one up and finally got the chance to use it today. I reckon its pretty good for the price, on its highest setting it drove 20mm stitcher screws 99% of the way into some merbau decking, with no pilot hole pre drilled. I'm happy with it.

            • +1

@Road Warrior: I got it to put together about a dozen pieces of Ikea furniture and the hundreds of screws that come with it. Should save plenty of time.

  • Can I get a better Digital Multimeter anywhere else for this price?

    • any suggestion ?

  • Anyone want to sell their impact driver from this deal?

  • Can't fine the aldi tool set any more in stores
    Are they soldout?

  • Anybody want to sell their 5 piece set (or just the hammer drill & impact driver)? Looking to buy
