Belong $40 Starter Pack for $20 @ Coles | Belong $25 Starter Pack for $10 @ Woolworths

720

Starter Pack Features

  • 40GB Data (+40GB double data on the 1st payment date)
  • Unlimited national calls & sms.
  • Unlimited data banking.
  • Unlimited data gifting.
  • No lock-in contracts.
  • Flexibility to change plans once every monthly payment cycle.
  • Data slows to 64 kbps if you use all your monthly allowance.
  • Telstra 4G & 3G.
  • 12 month SIM expiry (from the purchase date)

Here are 2 good options for getting the most out of this starter pack. Before you activate make sure you get a referral code from a friend already with Belong or the OzBargain Belong pool for an additional $20 credit.

Option 1 (4 Months 23GB) - Activate on the $25 10GB per month plan. When the first payment date comes you'll get another 10GB (Double Data). Then switch to the $10 1GB per month plan for the 2nd & remaining months. The first 4 months cost is covered ($40 starter pack credit plus $20 referral credit) $5.00 will be left over for the 5th month.

Option 2 (3 Months 82GB) - Activate on the $40 40GB per month plan. When the first payment date comes you'll get another 40GB (Double Data). Then switch to the $10 1GB per month plan for the 2nd & remaining months. The first 3 months cost is covered ($40 starter pack credit plus $20 referral credit) and data rolls over every month or can be gifted.

Double Data (1st month only)
DO NOT port/activate on these dates 4th, 12th, 20th, 28th. These are the start of new payment cycles. They are the same every month.
One month worth of data is credited on activation, and another on your first payment date, 1-8 days later. So you effectively get double data for the first monthly payment at no extra cost.

    • Once you've signed up, you'll be able to change over to the $10 plan at the start of your next billing month

Im yet to try Belong but i assume that you can still work around it

      • Is the start of the next billing month one of these dates 4th, 12th, 20th, 28th?

I am think of getting the $25 SIM to use for 3 months. So if I activate my SIM on the $25 plan on the 14th, I should get double data (extra 10GB) added on the 20th, then I can change to the $10 plan on the 21st ? Is that correct? So when would my 3 months end, 3 months from the 14th or the 20th?

      Thanks OP

  • $25 starter is $10 as well

    Thanks for posting Arthur!!

Hoping somebody can confirm if the double data for 2 plans are still working!

I'll be porting over in a few weeks

    • +3

yes got it in last billing cycle working….

      • Thanks!!

  • Don't use these for business. They don't have VoiceMail, just a dodgy call to text thing that you can't customise.

    • They're not meant for business. That would be a breach of "customer terms" & could result in getting your account cancelled.

I got rid of message to txt. If anyone wants to get in touch they can just call me back, sms or I will call them back.

This is the reason I didn’t go to Belong when I considered it, and just stuck to Telstra. I’m not a fan of msg-to-text, if someone is leaving a voicemail I prefer to hear it in full, plus the text option doesn’t allow as much time as full voicemail does. It’s just one way Belong cuts costs but it won’t suit everyone.

    • But you can divert on busy etc to any number you like, including 3rd party voicemail.
I use one that sends voicemail as email attachment.

      • Interesting. How much extra do you pay for 3rd party?

        • +1

You need a VoIP account with incoming number.
          e.g. mynetfone whirlpool plan $15/yr.

Or divert to your landline with magnetic tape answering machine :-)

  • what are the chances of getting banned if i gift data to myself using stater pack and haven,t done that before.

    • +2

      Tiny

    • How would you go about gifting data to yourself? I thought you could only have 1 SIM active on your account?

      • making a new account on different email ID? Wouldn't refer myself though as that seems too risky.

    • I have been banned recently and lost both numbers.. Couldn't get them back either

      • What do you think made them detect you? Same address?

      • How were you banned??
        What exactly did you do?

    • +1

      Not worth the risk imo

  • Can you combine any of these options with the $80 Belong mobile credit you get when you bundle with their NBN plans?

    • Yes it's the same just with $80 credit.

  • can I get this now and activate mid next year?

    • +1

They have a one year expiry but I've had some activated a little more than a year later.

  • $40 SIM is also $20 at Officeworks, we got one at the weekend. Port went through in about two mins. https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/search?gclid…

    • Yep i bought one a few months ago, for $20 got $40 of credit then got another $20 credit from using a referral code so 6 months free calls on the $10 plan. Coverage is also not bad i found.

  • $20 month #1 with the starter pack, $0 month #2 and #3 ($20 referral credit), then $10/m for the next 9 months?

So cost would be: $110 for 12 months with option 2?

    • +1

Buy a $80 sim that comes with broadband, many OZ bargainers, FB market place, gumtree generally $40 I got one for $35 last week here in classified.
so $80 +$20(referral) gives you $100 and first month minimum $25 as after 23rd July $10 can't be the plan you activate on (can be the plan from next billing cycle.)
      1.$40 (60 left)
2.$50 (60+50=110 11 months) need to paid more to continue upto 12 months.

      Total cost/year= ($80 pack cost) $40 max + $ 50 =$90 yearly cost (91 gig Data for the year)

      • Any chance of getting scammed buying through any of those avenues?

        • You will find that starter pack in many places.

        • +1

It's not a voucher as long as the pack has sim inside its all good, chances of being scammed are negligible.

@toobzy - please clarify why you were banned. Was it due to gifting data? One may have two accounts, one for your partner one for yourself. Does that mean you can't gift if you have two a/cs. Was it due to using referral code from the old account to new account? How long did you hold the first account?

    • I've read about it in previous belong threads if you have a look, not sure if it was toobzy but someone got banned in those threads.

  • gonna grab 2 of $25..only need calls and txt.

  • The $25 SIM pack/plan is a completely pointless product. No matter which way you look at it, the $40 pack is better value because of the data banking/gifting, and it's even better value when it's on sale for $20. While the ability to switch between $40 and $10 and retain your databank exists, there is also no reason to switch to the $25 plan either, just keep switching between $10 and $40. Or, if say you and your partner are both on Belong, one can stay on $10 one can say on $40 and then just Gift data from the $40 to the $10. You would get double the value of the 2*the $25 plan for the same price.

    • The way I used to look at it was that you'd get 4 months for $10 when it was on sale but they've removed the $10 starting plan now so it is a pointless pack to buy.

      • You forget the value of unlimited data of shaped speed.

  • Went to buy a $40 starter pack today but it was full price. Only the $25 pack was on sale @ $10.

I know you went to Woolies, not Coles.

    • +1

It's in the latest Coles catalogue. Grab one and show them or just go to Officeworks.

      • +2

        Man you’re right, I’m a complete retard 😂

      • Definitely get it in Coles better. I bought 2 packs for $40, adding to my target spend $50 for 1000+1000 bonus pts plus triple pts this week. Transaction record turned up today and I got 2153 pts in total for $51.1 spend.

SIM starter packs are eligible items like groceries to add into "spend $X get X pts", "double or more pts".

  • Anyone having trouble porting?
I’m not receiving their verification codes sent to my Optus number ahead of the port.

    • +1

Update- I had to request a new Optus sim in order to receive verification codes from belong. Something wrong with my old sim shrug

  • -1

seems Woolies one all sold out

  • How can I have two Belong numbers ? Can I add both to the same account ? I use one currently for data and want to port my voice sim as well.

    • Try contacting them on Facebook messenger and ask them

  • +1

What ID does belong ask for - I want to port four prepaid catch connect numbers (me, hubby and two kids) but I don't want to be banned - is different emails and payment methods okay or am I going to be caught up by having the same name if I have to provide 100points ID? It's quite odd you can only have one account imo - but hey who am I? 🤣

    • One email per SIM.

Use different referral codes, do not self refer.

I think Belong only does credit card verifying.
