It's worth noting that the $75 and $100 Oral-B electric toothbrushes are currently half price at Woolies.

  • +3

i think i saw costco having promotion like 10 pack for $27 a few times already, cheaper if you got costco membership.

    • +7

Even cheaper if your family member/friend got Costco membership :)

      • +5

Even cheaper if your friend/family member forgets to collect payment

  • Cheaper knock offs on amazon/ebay?

    • +44

Im a dentist and also incredibly cheap, but my reccomendation would be don't buy the knockoffs, they generally have stiffer bristles and square ends which contribute to gum recession and enamel abrasion. there are better ways to save money than cheaping out on your toothbrush.

      • +9

Great! First the economy and now my gums.

      • +1

so do u ask your patients what brush they use to determine if it has an effect?

        • 🙈

        • +1

Yep, absolutely, if they have wear from something other than tooth-tooth contact, I'll talk with them to find the cause and see if we can do something to lessen the risk of it worsening moving forward. Some dental issues are unavoidable, but a lot of issues can be avoided with relatively simple changes.

People dont always realise that the wrong toothbrush/toothpaste choice and poor technique can literally wear away your teeth over time.

Dentist and cheap…..Mike Lee is that you?

      • +9

Can you show us your face?

        • +1

I thought Oral-B had that outlawed a number of years ago?

        • I can but I don't want to put you off your lunch..

      • +4

You're one of the 9 out of 10 dentists that recommend aren't you.

        • Nah, I have absolutely zero brand loyalty. I'd use knockoffs in a heartbeat if I thought they were of equivalent quality.

      • Do dentists get complimentary brushes (for "evaluation")?

    • +1

Yep. 16 pack for $15 delivered

      Also 20 for $18.50.

I'm not a dentist but I went out with one once, so …

      • +4

        Basically the same thing

      • What's your experience with them? Are the bristles soft and rounded at the ends?

        • Have one side by side now. They seem slightly stiffer than oral b. Rounded at the ends?

          • @OldBugger: Yeah, the generics usually don't smooth off the tip of each bristle (it costs more), which is more damaging to gums and enamel.

            • @mememe123: Ah I see.

How did we ever survive before electric toothbrushes…

  • Haven't used one of the electrical toothbrushes for a while now. Any recommended model? TiA

    • Cheapest one with a lithium-ion battery is best unless you're after a particular novelty. Li batteries last much long and provide consistent performance between charges.

    • Got a new 2000. To give our old 2000 to our child.
Surprisingly, rated same rpm but feels much faster.

Pity Woolies don't stock the cross action heads. Still quite expensive at AMZN.

    • I find sensitive to be best, is it just me?

      • I've tried cross action and sensitive. For me, after brushing I feel my teeth are cleaner with cross action. Everybody's teeth and gums are different though so wouldn't surprise me if sensitive (or other heads) work best for some.

      • Floss are the best

        • +1

Seriously? What does that stupid rubber cup do anyway? Floss head is the one head I'm totally convinced is a gimmick. It's barely got any bristles for crying out loud.

          • @justtoreply: It's been working great for me. The floss bit keeps the gum area clean where others have failed to

  • Thanks OP

  • How to know which heads are compatible with Oral-B Pro 2 2000?

    • +3

All the ones from the Amazon link will work.

Woolies has some weird ones called 'Dual Clean', they are not compatible.

If you're new to these, why not get the variety pack, good way to compare most of them.

    • Pretty sure they all have the same connectors. i.e. universal.

    • +1

$10 off for first time order also

    • Good find - only saw the 4+2 pack so I must've missed this the other day

    • Excellent offer!

    • Anyone in SE Melbourne wanna go halves on the bulk packs?

    • Nice work mate. 8 x cross action & 4 precision heads for $39.90 @ $3.30 a head. Bargain.

    • +2

Wtf. Why can't they all just be the same head in each pack?

This concept of needing more than one kind of head is a crock. They should only sell their best design. Ultimately, they all rotate. They all need to clean. There's nothing more to it that I can see?! (keep in mind the brush itself has/should have the sensitive mode)

  • Can someone please advise which ones out of these would be equivalent to an Extra Soft toothbrush ?

    • +2

      Sensitive

  • Will this work on Oral b pro 700

  • Free delivery with Subscribe & Save is not working for me. The only delivery option seems to be Expedited Delivery and it's adding $4.99 to the total cost.

    • I had this issue too. Solved it by putting an (sub&save) order through, cancel it and order again.

  • Bought some, cheers OP! Trying to figure out how to cancel the subscription now

    • I wonder if Aldi is observing/data collecting us here at OzB?

  • Has Amazon increased their prices? or is it just me?

    • Their bots must have picked up SS having no stock.

    • Yeah most have sold out on Amazon sorry, only Gum Care 2pk $9 remaining.

      Just updated it now.

  • Thanks bought 8, been waiting for a deal. My gums are wrecked, I have more plaque than actual teeth at this point. But at least I was able to save. not making that mistake this time. bulk buying.

    • try a water flosser if you don't go to the dentist every year or sth.
