Appears to makes it a few hundred $AUD better than the previous deal, given the new price drop.

Not really familiar with the Razer brand, so can't vouch for it, but a deal is a deal!

I checked this deal out and tried to purchase the damn thing but I think due to Amazon US they won't ship to aus. I didn't know until I tried, they let me go through all the way. I got an order confirmation email as well, but shortly after they sent another email saying my order not shipped and my account is suspended for unusual activity. I reactivated my account by going through the trouble of sending them a bank statement. I went through this twice guys, so don't do it, is a waste of time. I am thinking of freight forwarder, but is it worth it?

Not really familiar with the Razer brand

Razer laptops are really supposed to be quite good - the premium gaming end sort of thing.

Terrible support, no official razer repair centre in aus yet, build quality is decent but some have coil wine in some models. Warranty is already shit in aus not sure how it works in amazon us though

Seem to hear alot stories of issues with razer laptops, battery bulging seems to be common.

Agree here, bought a Razer 13 inch 2 years ago brand new off the Microsoft eBay store. Was DOA and even then I was bounced from Microsoft to having to contact Razer trouble shooting overseas- I told them to get stuffed as I know my consumer rights and lodged a claim with the ombudsman and they sorted it out.

Took better half of 3 weeks to get a refund. I'd be sceptical of grabbing one let alone from overseas.

      • I am happy with my Razer Blade 15, but I deliberately bought from JB Hifi so I could get their extended warranty just so I wouldn't be at risk of having to deal with Razer support in the local market which I have read on forums to be pretty lousy.

… so in other words, I wouldn't buy this from an overseas seller eg Amazon US. Sure you may get some protections or mechanisms from Amazon AU but I really wouldn't want to have to deal with this especially if it could mean you were without a working laptop for weeks or months.

      • I bought a Razer Blade Stealth a few years ago from Amazon US and they were pretty good about returning it because it was crap. So i'd probably buy from them rather than Razer directly.

Edit: I just saw it's fulfilled by Amazon not sold by them direct, uh oh.

    • Windows 10 OS on it is modified and very restricted. You can't do certain things. Razer is trying to be like Apple. I have no idea why people would spend so much money on it.

      • … what are you talking about? It's Windows 10, with some Razer applications/optimisations like many other gaming laptops (eg fan/performance control, RGB, etc.). If you don't want them you can uninstall them, or just format and install a clean Windows OS.

        • We tried format and re-install Windows 10. It wouldn't let us. Razer said we have to use their Windows 10 disc.

          • @HandsomeMonkey: I reformatted my Razer Blade (2018) using just the generic Windows 10 installation USB using the tool from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10%…

            • @jace88: I am not sure what's wrong with my mate's Razer Blade but he was unable to go to task manager or reinstall Windows.

I am using a desktop with a fresh Windows 10 installed and never had any problem but his Razer laptop seems to have problems all the time.

              • @HandsomeMonkey: Unable to access task manager/reinstall Windows sounds more like there's something wrong with his Windows installation whether it be something which is running on startup, intercepting his inputs, malware, virus, etc…

If he can't "reset the PC" (i.e. back to out of the box settings) through the Windows 10 settings app then I'd suggest creating the installation media using the Microsoft tool on to a USB, boot from the USB, and then let it format the laptop. He will then need to download the relevant drivers from the Razer support site. This will definitely clear any potential for malware or modifications to his Windows installation.

Just saying I wouldn't assume that Razer laptops are restricted or have a modified Windows 10 which is any more locked down than any other OEM in terms of drivers/hardware-specific applications.

  • $300 shipping?? Nah .. :-( .. !!

Managed to go all the way to check out - I'm a Prime Member

My order amounts are: $1389.99 + $53.18 (express postage) + $203.98 (import duty)

    Specs are:

Razer Blade 15 Gaming Laptop: Intel Core i7-9750H 6 Core, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 15.6" FHD 144Hz, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, CNC Aluminum, Chroma RGB Lighting, Thunderbolt 3, 9th Gen i7-9750H

    • There shouldn't be any import duty for imports from the US.
      GST only.

      • Import duty is another name for GST
Since they don't use that nomenclature in other countries

  • Nice

I was curious as a prime member would free or discounted postage be claimable

    • This isn't covered under 'Prime' shipping, and being over the threshold you'd need to pay import duties. Still, it's cheaper than buying one locally.

      AmazonGlobal Shipping + $31.75
Estimated Import Fees Deposit + $201.83

  • i'd double check warranty - had a razer laptop but it died shortly after 2 years

  • $ 1,389 99 no longer same price

    • But isn't it $300 USD more?
