I can't get over the mildly terrifying look of the Mario figure when turned off.

    • thats what nightmare looks like

    • +1

      Are they yellow boobs?

      • +3

No, they are the buttons of his overalls.

  • +4

    Darn! Cheaper than Amazon pre-order.

    • Cheaper than EB preorder too. I haven't even been notified to go collect yet. I'd cancel but I want the preorder bonus.

    • Doesn't Amazon have a price guarantee on their pre-orders?

      • +1

Their preorder price guarantee is only for lower release price at Amazon, not other retailers.

Good deal, I wonder which parts are going to be super rare in 10+ years though. Not the starter pack. I bet everything else will sell out quickly

  • Is this good for a 9-10 year old kid?

    • +2

      Definitely

    • +9

Is this good for a 41 year old? Asking for a friend

      • +2

        Definitely

  • This is $69 at Target right now. Introductory offer. It'll go back to $79 after the offer. There is also another set which goes for $42 normally but is currently $39 as an introductory offer like the starter kit (Piranha Plant Power Slide). I bought the two kits today.

    • +3

It says $79 online, must be an in-store only purchase?

      • +4

        Was 79 in store today

        • Was at Target Paramatta. Had signs around and everything.

      • +5

Well there are signs in store, so probably. I didn't bother checking online cause I was there.

      It's not $69 in-store or online. It's $79

I like how trigger happy you guys are with the negs. Yes it is. I bought them yesterday. Here are my receipts:

Yes, they scan up at original prices and need to be overridden, but I think the receipts speak for themselves.

Can confirm - Yesterday (Sat 1st) at Target Rouse Hill alot of signage for 'Introductory Offer'.

A photo I took of some of the items/signage - Pokey set $22 and Bullet Bill $39

          https://imgur.com/a/6eim9ra

          Starter course was $69 too.

Introductory offer runs until Wednesday - seems to be select Target's - no signage at Castle Hill today.

Definitely not one for adults. ~8 year olds maybe?

    • If an adult we're buying the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System they might also want Mario from the starter kit to provide the sounds. But I agree, The rest of the starter kit might not appeal to many adults.

      • Only the NES Lego from this Mario Collection appeals to me and it is on my ‘must buy’ Lego list. That’s said, I think I will grab the others (when they are on special) to complete the collection.

    • That green pipe piece looks kinda cool. It's the only cool brick in the collection though. Maybe the bowser flag and and question mark block, but the question mark block is only a 1x2. It should be a 2x2 block right? I wish Lego would release more custom bricks per set. Sick of goofy looking sets made from random bricks.

Please amend OP: should be "comes with a free shipping". Said in and Italian accent.

    • Shouldn't it be "comes a with a free shipping. Mamma Mia!"?

  • +1

damn, $10 cheaper than the store preorder

  • +4

If you go to targets website and sign up to there newsletter you get $10 off purchase over $50 so you can get this for $69 delivered or click and collect. https://www.target.com.au/enews-signup-promo-app

  • I wouldn't buy this knowing every 5 sec they run 20% of Lego prices where this is available at $79 everyday Target/Kmart .
Kmart is stupid not permitting there gift card to be used online for a further 5% off . That makes Target cheaper with gift cards and delivered .

    • and no staff discount to enter on kmart, but has that option on target.

  • +1

    david jones is much cheaper
they have deal yesterday and today
    buy $500 take $150 off (30% off)

    • +1

I don’t see them listed on DJ’s website anymore, probably OOS?

      • +1

Back in stock @ David Jones online

        • +1

Thanks. Bought the entire collection available minus Bowser’s castle (sold out) and the character packs (want to ‘feel’ the bags to pick the characters I want in store). Now I will wait for the other retailers to stock the NES and wait for it to go on special!

    • how did you get this… is it still available???

  • I wish I have a kid right now so I can buy this.

    • +1

You don’t have to have a kid to enjoy this.

Don’t get bogged down who says otherwise.

    • Consider it an investment - hey, future kids, I got you this! Buy now, memories later

  • Has anyone tried returning anything to the online Lego store before? Wouldn't mind picking this up and a couple of the character packs from Kmart - cheaper and I don't need to wait for shipping!

I can't tell if you need to pay for return postage - doesn't say on their website or T+C's. Unless this implies they pay for the postage for change of mind?

"If you’re not completely satisfied with your order you can return it to us FREE of charge within 90 days from the day you receive your parcel."

Based on the info on the website, I can't cancel the order because it's "in warehouse" and their customer services close weekends.

    • If you're thinking about swapping out and returning Megablox, then don't bother, I've already tried and am banned from the online Lego store.

  • Same price at toys r u also, I bought a $6 random bag today but skipped on the big boxes. I got the red shell spiny.

  • +2

Got a bargain today at Target Broadway.
Paid $26.60(with team discount) for the starter pack, due to their mistake by wrong-filling the shelve.
