Tintin Complete Adventures Book Collection $72.22 Delivered @ Amazon UK

710

This bargain mightn't be to everyones liking but as this product has had a large drop in it's price I figure it might be worth posting.

Basically it's a complete set of Tintin books in hardback format in a presentation box.

This is selling for around the $130 mark at most other book outlets around the web. And if you are feeling rich Angus and Robertson will sell it to you for a cool $275!

EDIT: Marked as expired due to price increase from £45.00 to £62.32.

EDIT2: Back in stock again (for now) at £45.00 on 25/10

  • Does anyone know where to buy TinTin comics from?

      • Yeah I can get from my local library but thanks anyways

Is this very bargain on which you are commenting, not a collection of Tintin comics?

      • +1

@Simulacrum, I think PLA74 means the actual original-sized comic books.

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Collection-9-TINTIN-brand-new-Her…

I used to read these when i was younger too. That website i just listed was 1/3 of the entire collection and it's $140.
I'm used to reading manga with the same dimensions as this book collection, hopefully the fonts aren't too small. Just ordered.

        Thanks OP.

Hmmm conflicting statments, so is it free or not?

      • +5

Not sure if you've noticed the banner on the Amazon.co.uk front page saying "FREE Super Saver Delivery to Australia & New Zealand"…

        Anyway, read more here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId…

      • cmon, you can trust a guy whose name is sparkles

        • +4

…..and even more so, a woman whose name is sparkles - because let's face it, the fairer sex is rarely wrong. Ever.

  • Does VAT come off that price?

    • No VAT comes off books - they are already VAT free. Would be nice though.

  • Cool. Order Placed. Finger's crossed :)

  • Thanks Sparkles, just ordered the set.

  • Anyone know if these are the shrunk-down books (about 2/3 original size)? From the dimensions, it seems they are.

    • Hardcover: 1632 pages
Publisher: Egmont Books Ltd (7 Nov 2011)
      Language English
      ISBN-10: 1405262885
      ISBN-13: 978-1405262880
      Product Dimensions: 22.6 x 16 x 14 cm

Yeah I am pretty sure the original comics were larger.

To my knowledge there aren't Tintin collections in original size. If you want original size seems like you'll need to buy each one individually.

    • +1

They are smaller than the usual Tintin books. There is quite a few reviews on the US Amazon site debating whether the text is too small - some people like it, some people don't.

      Check out the reviews here:

I always found the original books way too big (not exactly the easiest thing to carry around when I was trying to take them home as a kid from the library) so I'd think a slightly smaller set - not to mention a matching set, would find an easier place to store on someone's bookshelf without it sticking out & at the same time would look quite stylish

Saying that though they could've replaced the font for the smaller set to make it easier to read

  • +3

I've already pulled the trigger, but I am happy to be able to FINALLY finishing the series that I enjoyed as a kid but not able to since the local library don't have the full set.

    Hang on a sec… I am STILL a kid, just a big sized one that's all… :P

  • just in time for the new movie coming out

  • the PS3 game also looks awesome, it's funny seeing the characters in a more 'real-life' form

  • I already own the 3 in 1 books yet dearly want this still.

  • Price has now gone up, it is now $100 or £62.32.

I've spent YEARS thinking that this was a remake of RinTinTin, the old black and white TV show with the dog in it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rin_Tin_Tin

    LOL - I am such a dumbass :-D

  • SnSn

  • Damn..was going to order this morning (now) shoulda done it last night.

  • +2

    damn. missed the deal.. ><

  • I managed to get one last night :). In fact, I've got one already, not the collection but 7 individual books I bought from Amazon US 4 years ago. It cost me over $200 after shipping then. I used my 28 Degree card to pay last night so I believe it would cost me ~$70 only (haven't checked yet). Thanks for the post. I still want the original French edition to make it complete :D

  • +2

think the deal is back on. I just bought it for A $71.88

    • +1
