The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14yo Awarded the IWSC 'Trophy for Best Single Malt Whisky 15 Years and Under 2017'.

Rich, sweet and creamy toffee on the nose combines with fresh fruit notes. Rounded with vanilla and sweet oak notes, with a fruity character that develops with time. The result is an exceptional single malt whisky with the traditional smooth, honeyed character of The Balvenie, married with notes of toffee and a hint of fruit,with a warm, lingering finish.

This one is one of my favourites, definitely worth picking up at this price as it's the best I've ever seen it. Retails for $144, can often be found for $120 or thereabouts, this is $86!

Update - Worked for me with delivery in NSW and others in SA, mixed results reported from VIC and WA

        Yeah they checked on their PC if my local had stock (ACT) but I have price matched from there before and they didn't check. All depends on who you get.

    Any other good drops that others would recommend that are reasonably priced at the moment, my last bottle of aberlour 12 has run dry and don't know my scotch too well :)

      Do you like smoky/peated whiskies? If yes, time to up the game and try an Ardbeg 10 to begin your peated whisky journey. But Lagavulin 16 is one of my all time favourites

          I don't drink much of Highland scotches anymore. Glenmorangies are usually easy and good but not too complex for me. I used to like Oban 14 and Oban little bay. One of the best Highland ones I have tried recently was the Glendronach 18 which was an absolutely delicious drop. No stock anywhere of the 2019 bottled Glendronach 18 because the whisky is more than 18 years old in the bottle. Google it to find out the reason. Matured in Oloroso Sherry casks and the finish was phenomenal for me. Got it just under $200 at Dan's when they had stock and it was worth it. It will be interesting to see if the 2020 bottles will be as good. Islay whiskies have been my favourite though and my current favourite is Ardbeg Uigeadail.

            @tendliya: Cheers for the info! definitely helped a whisky newbie like myself. I ended up going with the Balvenie 12 & just finished up a bottle of Aultmore 12, found both delicious but the Balvenie was top notch. I couldn't resist some of the other suggestions here and was pretty keen on giving a smoky/peaty scotch a go aswell, so bought a Lagavulin 16 - looking forward to opening this weekend after its delivered. I feel a new habit forming..

    Price matched At Dan Murphy’s! Great buy. They said they can price match as long as a first choice Liquor is within 10kms of their store. In my case the girl didn’t really mind and priced match even though the closest store was 450kms away. DM price was $140 so good little saving!!
