  • Ahh not a bad price for m.2 enclosure, but prefer the Ugreen design

  • Thanks OP.
Been wanting one for a decent price.
    Bought one :)

  • Cheapest 1TB NVMe around $160ish + this at $39 = $199-200 say.
Cheapest Samsung T5/7 is around $250 mark but they're not NVMe.
So likely this will perform better etc?

    • Yes* - if sequential read/write plays a big part in your workload. Also, you have another faster storage device to send data fast enough.
If your usage is predominately random read/write, then it is not going to make much difference. m.2 NVMe SSDs don't actually improve Windows boot time much (nor game loading time) compared to SATA3 SSDs.

      • Yeah and these still aren't going to perform as good as good as native NVMe. Some overhead/limitation of UASP and the controllers on these adapters can vary in performance too.

There aren't many cases where the performance benefit of these is worth it, but I got one a while back since I had a spare NVMe drive and wanted to use it on a laptop

  • Get the ones with heat sink or good airflow cooling if you intended to use this for gaming. Not critical but it helps the heat!

  • I read some online reviews And they suggested Realtek RTL9210 would be best and reliable.

    • Yeah but are those really Real????

    • Can't find any in Australia! Import takes 2 months at least.
