OK, my second-post…lesson learnt from first post, don't ever post anything from shopping square, it'll only end in tears…

Cheapest I've seen this cookbook is about $29, even on booko.com.au (http://booko.com.au/products/9780718154776)
For those of you short with time, this cookbook is fairly easy to use. My wife and I haven't really gone through with an entire 4-course meal per se, just picked out various little ideas that have come in very handy. But I have been told by a few of my friends that have gone through with the entire meal that it is possible to have it done in 30 minutes, just be prepared to leave an enormous trail of mess behind you…

Just have all the ingredients handy. Also, it won't be 30 minutes the first time you try a new recipe… However, we also like this book and use it.

Personally I didn't mind that the recipes took longer because just looking at any set menu out of the book (I did this before purchasing), I couldn't see how it was possible for everyday cooks to do them in 30 minutes. The important thing to me was the recipes worked, it was possible to do 2 items out of 4 for a weeknight, and they tasted really good.

However, I can understand why people would be upset if they felt cheated by the title. Probably best to have a look before you buy.

FYI it's possible to get this for about $18 if you can find something else for 13 pounds or more on Amazon UK to qualify for free shipping. But yes, that means spending an extra 13 pounds, so make what you will of this advice.

if you can find something else up to 13 pounds on Amazon UK

      that's close to 6kg !!!

    Plus for shoppingsquare comment. :)

  • +1. I got it for just $20 from lifetimedistibutors, see previous post for discussion.

However, it's probably more convenient for most people to pay $5 more and get it delivered more than having to contact a representative.

Love the book as well, tried quite a few recipes and they are very tasty. However, unless you're as fast as Jamie, I wouldn't count on being to able to do 4 things in 30 minutes. I've done 2 things in 45 minutes. He also makes a mess and probably doesn't have to clean up after :P

We too got ours from Amazon U.K, as most books in Australia are a rip-off, anyway i consider myself a decent cook but to do it in 30 mins i'm guessing you would have to know the recipe off by heart instead of taking a few seconds here and there to look at what your doing, i'd call it more like 45 minute meals, some are easier than others though in my opinion.
I think so far we have cooked about 6-7 meals out of the book and all of them have been fantastic, i'm not just saying this either i would truly recommend this book the recipes are pretty simple and taste fantastic.

    Enjoy!

Got this cookbook from Zavvi quite a while ago now…I think I paid a little less even then. Anyways. just a warning about this book..Really read the recipies that you are going to cook. He likes to match food/drinks/desert together and if you're not reading carefully he switches between each different meal.

So example..He may be talking about the main meal but then midway without any real warning he'll start talking about the drinks. Found it slightly confusing when I used the book for the first time.

Otherwise it's a pretty good book and the food is pretty yummy…Wouldn't call it 30mins at all atleast on your first cook through..lol

  • Good deal.
