Putting aside the price offer, is this better or Magnatec better for the engine?
It depends on your engine and drive habits, the magnatec one may be better for “against stop-start wear” while the edge one is for “best performance”.

VW502 is much cheaper than VW504. I change the oil every 6 months on my 2015 Polo GTi. Has anyone made the switch to VW502? I wonder whether I am getting the long-life benefits of VW504 when changing the oil so regularly.
What are the recommended service intervals for the polo GTI?
I run this in two skodas (2016 yeti (1.2tsi) and 2015 octavia(1.4tsi)). In the service manual the Long life is only recommended for the variable service intervals. For our market the recommended interval is 12 months or 15,000klms and recommends VW 502, so thats what I use.
Yeah, same interval - 15k/1 year. I'll look into the real benefits of 504.

there is an oil selector on the castrol website, where you can select vehicle or enter rego. should also be in the car service manual
