  • Yer, they have done some minor updates, which can be found here: http://www.macpricesaustralia.com.au/2011/10/24/apple-update…

    • Better Graphics - 17-inch model has been upgraded to sport AMD’s Radeon HD 6750M from the older HD 6770M graphics card, now incorporating 1GB of video memory.

      ???

    • Yea, its mainly the CPU and Graphics update with the new model

  • Is this price better than when DSE have 10% off Apple?

It appears to be $100 cheaper (13" model) from the refurb store delivered
    (http://store.apple.com/au/product/FC700X/A)

    • Yes I think this price is better than the 10% off sale, and plus this brand new not a refurb

      • The 10% sale was about $209 off which would bring it down to $1889

  • hmm I think its still the Early 2011 models.

    • +1

yeah they are more then likely clearing our their stock before the updated ones come in.

  • Missed out on the 10% off earlier in the week. Looking for a Macbook Air 13" so if any DSE rep is floating about, would be good to get some Air love too!

    • +1

Just wait a few months, the sale will be back.

      • +1

        i say weeks

        • Should be every 2nd weekend.

Updates from these (reduced) early 2011 models to the imminent late 2011 models:

    +0.1ghz chip options for 13" & 17"
    +0.2ghz chip options for 15"
320gb/500gb options now 500gb/750gb for all relevant models.

    Graphics for:
    base 15"… 6490M @256mb now 6570M @500mb
    17" & higher 15"… 6750M @1gb now 6770M @1gb

The updates are lovely, though, in most cases the lower price versions would be a better choice. The newer ones may also be confined to Lion only (as the new Airs are.)

  • Just letting you guys know they are pretty much out of stock around NSW (spoke to a really nice salesman at Ashfield DSE who let me know).
There are a few stores with floor stock, so that's about it!

you might get lucky and get JB, David Jones or Apple to price match though?

  • Dang, bought the 13" model just last week before the 10% off and now the reduced price!

Does anyone know if DS will honour their Price promise of matching lower prices within 14 days of purchase even though it's their own price? (http://dicksmith.com.au/help/price-promise-content)

    • +1

      Yes.

      • +1

Yes they should refund the 'difference' back to you. Even if it is the same store/company.

        • Just to confirm that DS refunded the difference back to me with a Woolies voucher. Thanks to OP for highlighting the deal, or I wouldn't have known about it!

          Cheers!

        • Cool. No worrys!

  • MBP just had spec update. so the one on sale is already old model.. i won't say its bargain.
or was i wrong and this is the price for the new spec?
