eufyCam2 Plus Entry Sensor - 2 Pack $599, 4 Pack $999 @ Bunnings

410

First time posting.
Don't know if this is considered a deal, haven't seen an Eufy cam post in a while.

But as the title says 2 cameras + homebase for $599 and 4 cameras + homebase for $999, which I believe is still cheaper than JB and OW pricing. Plus they come with bonus entry sensors.

Also I believe this is the Eufy Cam 2, as it has the newer home base and the model number is E8843CD1 (4pack) and E8841CD1 (2pack).

Seems like a good deal and the 4-pack comes with an entry sensor kit too.

Thanks didn't actually notice that, edited the title

Great cameras. Switched from Arlo Pro 2's and never looked back.
The image quality and battery life are so good!

    • How is the range? I've seen lots of complaints on their forums, seems to be about the older version not sure if this new version is any better.

    No continuous recording.
Why would I get this over Hikvision?
    And are these weather proof?

  • Is there a way to buy the home base by itself. I dropped mine and it keeps disconnecting every now and then.

    • What state are you in? If I buy this then you can have the base (at a cost obviously)

      • Then what will you use?

        • I've got one for the doorbell already.

        Despair.

I got the Eufy 2C cam, 3 pack.

    Not a fan.

I find it detects things outside of the zones, it doesnt detect things inside the zones. I also want to capture dogs crapping in my yard, at times, doesnt even start recording them until they have started walking off my yard.

also seems to capture every car that drives past, even though i do not have the road in my activity zones.

Adjust sensitivity? no worries, done that and battery gets chewed.

These would be good for low activity areas, but even my side gate records people in my neighbours yard, even though i have literally minimised the activity zone to physical gate only.

On my Pixel, every time there is an update, the arrows up the top to navigate through the days gets moved to the top, so i can not scroll left or right.

Would also prefer if there was some PC access to the homebase (is there one?)…

That's and odd thing to collect.

I bought three camera set from supercheap deal, My experience is awesome.. capture only human actions as i want, clarity is very good and battery life is decent too.. not a single issue.

      • which one was that?

        • eufy 2c 3 camera set

    • +3

I don't know about access to the homebase since I only have the floodlight now, but I believe you can access the cameras through.

    • Would that be because 2c model is the cost effective model if compared to model 2?, comparison: here

I am not sure how this is relevant to the deal ? The 2C is a completely different (older & lower spec) camera and base to the subject of this deal - there is nothing about the 2C (except the brand) that is the same.

Like saying that a Landcruiser is no good off road because your Yaris couldn't cross a creek.

    Geofencing doesn't work
    No IFTTT support as promised

Why aren't bases sold separately :/ Already have one from the doorbell.

  • Got the 3 camera eufy2c pack from the Supercheap 20% off sale. Wait until the next sale comes up and the 2s might be even cheaper. Still compared to other brands they're very reasonable.
Can't speak for the 2s but the 2cs are not perfect for a number of reasons e.g detection but they are everything I wanted and more. Battery life is amazing. Highly recommended.

  • This is a great value and comes with the Homebase V2!

Just be aware that Eufy has the Eufy Cam 2 Pro which is 2K resolution. However, reviews says its not much different to the Eufy Cam 2 due to the compression of the videos. It's more for future proof should Eufy improves the compression in future.

I have the 2C which does what I want. The 2 has better lens and battery, and Anti Theft alarm, but apart from that I don't think its much different from the 2C.

    • Expect the Cam 2 Pro is a Best Buy USA exclusive product only.

  • For those that already own one of these, how many hours recording would fit into the 16GB that the homebase comes with? and are there limits on the size of the expandable USB could be? TIA

    • Don't worry, you're talking about hours and hours of footage still.

  • Any solar panels for these?

  • Nice bought it for 599 for 2 packs without sensor.. Shoulda waited a bit eh haha

  • Can we set this to record constantly as opposed to activity/movement?

Seems a bit expensive. I have no idea the main differences between these ones and the other brands which were around $70 each.
(other brands) No homebase needed, just plug in memory cards or link to mobile apps through wifi.
And many of them could turn around 180/360 degrees.

I'm currently waiting for a bargain on xiaomi brand cameras.
When the lockdown ends, I'd like to get 1 or 2 set at home and watch my pet.

  • This doesn’t seem to be available for online order. You have to order at the special orders desk. Anyone know how someone in Melbourne can get one of these during stage 4 restrictions which sees all Bunnings closed except for click and collect?

  • Special orders. Just ring the store ask for special ordera

  • The wording in the ad seems strange.
Its the Eufycam 2 but its listed as the Eufycam plus. I am assuming it's to stop price matching?

  • This looks like a good deal, but I noticed their website has a sale for a bit cheaper in US.

Then I saw this offer pop up. Kickstarter launch on the 25th August with 40% off if preregistering, and Australia is listed eligible.

Not sure what the product is, but I will risk holding off a week or so to find out.

Best guess it is a smart letterbox, which I don't need, but maybe there are bundles in the offer

Did a little more research. Eufycam 1 is what most shops stock, and Bunnings is selling Eufycam 2. It's not necessary an upgrade with the new model, and in the states the 1 still costs more than the 2.

    Features of 2 vs 1:
+ better night vision without lighting (Sony Starlight)
    - no battery backup
    - 16gb mem in base but no MicroUSB slot. Subscription to increase cloud storage
    - Some reviews say no AI face recognition

It is weird that v2 has worse features than v1, but that's what I'm reading.

The feature I want most is pre-recording before trigger and no Eufy products have this. Arlo does, but lots of other downsides.

Summary is I'm probably still waiting for a repeat of the SCA deal

  • Thanks for that. The ideal seems to be the pack that comes with the Home Base 1 and Eufycam 2 (I think the SKU is T8801CD2 for the 2 pack). Get the battery backup with home base 1 but also the better night vision with the cam 2.

What is the SCA deal you are referring to?
