Thanks OP - the item I want is on sale but not 75% off but still not bad.

I'm just here to comment these are absolutely terrible, they break easily and leak all over the place.

    • +2

have to agree, the two i bought the lid wont seal tight any longer on one and the other wore out the plastic in less than a year, you get what you pay for

    • +1

The Decor ones with the central lid vent system and chunky rubber seal are very spill proof. They also come in glass but I've yet to try those.

These sistema ones have been out for too long and have had no competitiion in the market (at this range and accessibility).

      Wow, tupperware poetry.

      • Decor plastic ones are great, but their glass ones have been repeatedly leaky for me!

      • The brilliance range do not leak.

    • +4

I came here just to find this comment. I have purchased a couple of Sistema products previously and they are terrible. They don't seal correctly and break after a couple of uses.

I'd recommend Decor to anyone who is looking for an alternative.

      • I agree. Decor always doing half price, so not even worth to get sistema at 50%-75% off.

    • +1

They're cheap. The only ones I've had break are the full ones I drop from the freezer. They're definitely not water tight but are great for all the meals we cook and freeze.

    • +2

yes they do leak, BUT on their web site they state they aren't leak proof, so only good for dry or moist ingredients. Found out after salad dressing leaked into my back-pack …….

    • +5

I've been freezing and subsequently microwaving and eating meals from the 1L rectangular ones for years. they do leak but i'm yet to break one.

      • +1

I've been using them for years too and the only time I broke one was when I dropped it full of frozen bolognese.

        • I must have a dozen bolognese serves in the freezer, great choice :D

    • +2

The ones with the two clips are definitely NOT air tight but still useful for other purposes.

    • I really wanted to like them, being NZ Made. But, sadly, have to agree.

    • Completely agree.
Yet the yanks queued-up to pay US$430m for the business!

    Good for storing eneloops 👍😊

    • Yeah. These sorts of things can be used in craft projects, board game tokens, etc.

      • I am sure it will be considered as essential travel but may cost $1600 if you are in victoria.

  • Sistema Klip It Plasticware Lunch Plus 1.2L (2 Pack) - $2.25

    Also available on Amazon AU

  • Good prices, I'm waiting for Amazon to match on the big ones - 7L for $3 is really good

Can attest to glass tupperware being more expensive but better than BPA free plastic. The above Sistema stuff leaks and over time does absorb oils which discolours the plastic, but it's good if you aren't transporting food and want a cost-effective tupperware option.

On the other hand, if you leave this at someone's house they will 100% not return it to you.

    Some alternatives below:

10 piece set for $89 plus shipping from Temple and Webster which also have a variety of other bundles here

6 piece set for $30.10 from BigW

24 piece set for $69.99 with free shipping from Amazon which also has a 6, 10, 14, 18 and 20 piece set via that link

5 piece set for $29.95 plus shipping from Catch which also has a 6 piece set for $39.95

sistema don't claim for these to be leak proof. If you want leak proof, need some of the pryrex , target or kmart ones with multiple clips and wide silicone seals.

      • +2

Yep, you're right Sistema doesn't claim they're leak proof. I didn't even know I wanted leakproof when I first bought Tupperware, but when it did eventually leak it became a priority for me. Just throwing it out there for other people to consider when buying.

Like I mentioned in my comment, these do fit the bill for certain Tupperware situations.

        • +1

I have some of the Brilliance ones and they are great. Definitely leak proof.

    • +1

Please note when Amazon says 24 piece they really mean 12 as it includes the lids.

      • You're absolutely right, good pick up.

They all seemed to do that, strangely enough. I missed changing the Amazon one from 24 to 12.

Not a fan of plastic Tupperware anymore after spending a bomb on this range and another just for them to be looking trashed within 12 months, most only lightly being used.

Changed over to glass, started collecting Pyrex and won’t go back now. Plastic was a waste of money for me.

    • +2

These are always half-price. And cheap buy-in. How can you spend 'a bomb' on them??

  • +2

Just re did my whole pantry storage. $94 spent saved $303.

  • Showing unavailable!

    • Pricing error?

    • Also available in-store.

      • Oh snap. Good news. I might check that out later today. Hopefully not ozbargained in store as well!

Edit: the listing have been removed for me!

        • I grabbed some in Sydney, plenty in store. I think you should be fine.

          • @Phesto: Legend. I need a bunch of these and I am an OCD ozbargainer. So despite the fact that I would save like $20 on normal half price, I MUST have this!

Will check it out after work and hope for the best!

            • +1

@krunchymoses: Also some of the price tags were wrong. Some showed as $3 but scanned at $1.50 (the 3L one). So perhaps there is a pricing error, good luck

  • Can anyone still get it online?

    Showing unavailable

    • The update says instore only. Sold out online.
Shows unavailable online to me as well.

  • I went in to Seaford (Vic) and they only scanned at half price, I was so hopeful lol

  • I definitely need some of these. Thanks!

    • And out of stock at my local ww, nice

While most reviews seem to be positive, it's worth noting that some reviews of the Brilliance range claim that they still leak.

    Not actually 100% Leak Proof
    Size: 920 ml Verified Purchase
At first this container was leak proof. We tested it by putting water in it and shaking it around and it seemed to be 100% leak proof. After about 2-3 uses the container seemingly lost its ability to be leak proof. When carrying soup to work I found it leaking all over my backpack. All in all definitely not worth the price or the risk.

avoid if looking for leak proof
    Size: 920 ml Verified Purchase
It leaks, easily scratches, not worth the money.

    Great
    Size: 920 ml Verified Purchase
It leaks with soup but good for other foods.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Sistema-Food-Storage-Container-Cle…

    Rip off
Please do not be fooled by other reviews. These containers are not leak proof as advertised and therefore not fit for purpose. I have taken food to work in these containers several times only to find that the food had leaked all over my work bag.

    It leaks
Lovely box - better quality than other snapware - but it definitely leaks. Given it’s heavily advertised as leak proof, and this was the main reason I bought mine, one star.

    NOT 100% leak proof
The product says 100% leak proof guaranteed however my salad dressing leaked out when the container was on it's side in my back.

    • yeah i have one of the brilliance containers and its leaked a little bit before in my bag

      • Who knows, maybe there's no such thing as truly leak-proof when it comes to that type of plastic clip-down container. They may just be prone to failure from time to time. My mother still uses (expensive) Tupperware, both old-style and new, and it's still known to leak on occasion.

But yeah, if that's the case then they shouldn't really be marketing them as "100% Leak-Proof", which they do.
