Boost Mobile $300 Pre-Paid Sim Starter Kit for $270 Free Express Post @ Auditech (or $256.50 OW PB)

230

So $22.50/m, not as good as previous deal prices, but still decent if you price beat at Officeworks ($256.50, or ~$21.38/m) (which you can call to beat the price if there isn't one near you with stock).

The free express post (likely dispatch from NSW?) is nice too.

Boost Mobile $300 Prepaid SIM starter kit for a new 12 month expiry plan. 240GB data to use via Telstra network within 12 months. Unlimited calls & text to Australian standard numbers. Unlimited international standard calls & text to 30 selected destinations. Stream Apple music data free.

      =) you're welcome

  • I have the $150 prepaid kit which i haven't activated :(

    • Mmm, if you want to get this deal instead, maybe see if you can offload the $150 SIM to others (classifieds/ebay/gumtree)? Auditech is selling the $150 kit for $160!
The $150 kit is likely to be easy to offload, as Boost doesn't do them any more.

      • yeah but will Boost let you activate the $150 prepaid kit on the $150 grandfathered plan, or force you into the $200 plan which is only six months?

        • Good question, I've got no idea lol
The other thread on this got bit long and I stopped following

@zrmx: Somebody said they activated on the 11th August, day after 80gb offer stopped, and their $150 kit activated with 12mth 80gb offer. They just won't be on the grandfathered list, one year wonder deal only.

@JamesLucas: I was told by their call centres that I can still join $150 deal when I buy a $2 Sim and recharge $150 plan. They have stopped producing the $150 Sim cards but it doesn't stop you from selecting $150 when recharging. Not sure if that is true. I have all my family on auto recharge now, except for one that came from Telstra prepaid.

  • Hmm I haven't tried OW price match before but I am in the market for this sim.

    • It is fairly straight forward once you've waited through to get to an operator if you are calling (just need to be prepared to wait for ~15-30mins for whole process, as they need to check the price on their end and then get your details to pay over phone).

In-store should be quicker if not too many customers.

      • I ended up ordering direct from the site you linked, after being on hold with OW for ages.

        • Yea the wait was quite long, ~20-30mins? Then another 10 mins wait while the operator checks on her end. Fortunately with WFH I could just wait on the phone while doing other things.

  • Ok deal but bear in mind Boost Prepaid doesnt have 'Call Waiting'. I recently ported to Boost and I was shocked when I found out it didn't have it, pretty much useless to me as I keep missing important calls while on the phone…

To enable call waiting on your boost mobile, simply dial *43# from your handset (like you're making a phone call) and press call. You phone should then shortly advise you call waiting has been activated.

      See if it works.

      • Cheers. Worked for me.

        • @jameslucas Do you have Prepaid or Postpaid?

          • @elmotta: The $150 80gb 12mth plan. I don't know if call waiting works but I dialled and a message appeared saying it was enabled .

      • Already tried but doesnt work

  • Can i use this one to turn my current boost month-by-month plan into a yearly one? or is it just for new customers?

    • I think the starter kits are for new customers only usually.

Likely you'll need to port out to another telco to use it.

      • Awesome. Does porting out and then back to boost take to long? I have a spare belong sincere lying around which i could use

        • +1

From experience it is fairly quick ONLY IF you are porting between different actual telco service network (i.e. Telstra, Optus, Vodafone), not MVNO. It all happened mostly within 30mins, although up to 3 hours have happened too.

Within the same network, in this case, Boost and Belong (both uses Telstra), can be hit or miss.

Personally if I need this deal I'll buy it from Officeworks price beating it, then grab a Kogan Mobile or Catch Connect for a month with the ~$5/m (might as well use it), then use the Boost kit.

  • How long do we have to activate them? I still got a few months left.

  • My friends having trouble activating and seems there's no phone support atm?

  • Mine arrived yesterday. Activated with number port in 65 mins from Woolworths after a 60 min cooling off period.

VoLTE now working which is why I switched :)
