Yes sure has. My Samsung ultrabook with 4th gen had it. I remember trying to upgrade the hard drive and not knowing what a M.2 was back then was very confusing (Plus it was hidden under plastic). Just glad it's become mainstream now
Yes I have got one on a 6 year old board. But the m. 2 slot does not work with NVMe drives. Just have to be careful.

You will need to boot into recovery mode and initialise the disk, your sleep mode may no longer function too.
