Bosch WTW87564AU 9kg Heat Pump Dryer $1608 ($2899 RRP) Delivered @ Appliances Online

160

Seems like good price for those looking to spend a small fortune on a dryer. Take the RRP with a grain of salt as typical price is much less.

No commercial membership required (easily obtainable for many people it seems) like the similar Good Guys deal at the moment for next model up (1 star more efficient).

I’m just in the market so can’t comment on dryers much but these seem highly regarded. Main criticism is balling due to one direction spin.

Shipping is free for most people I believe.

Haha. I thought that might confuse a few people old enough to remember the other one.

Fairly commonly used shorthand in other posts but maybe not titles. Fixed it up now.

Good idea, otherwise next week we might see some deals titled like this "Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing Edition $449 @ iiNet" lol

  • Hmm, a bit high to be a deal for the 64AU, tbh.

    • I tend to agree, but the really good prices (65AU) have dried up it seems.

This is about as good as it gets on any of the 64/65/66 models from what I can find at the moment, except TGG commercial or the like so figured it’d help some people at least.

I’ll probably umm and ahh waiting for a better price until summer, when I won’t really need it.

  • $1573 @ TGG Commercial

    • Great if you can get it. I can’t unfortunately.

It's just for a price comparison. $35 isn't too bad of price difference if you can't access the commercial site. IMO even $1573 is too expensive. Really need some of those ebay 20% codes.

    • off topic but i've been wondering for a while, is there any way to get access to TGG Commercial for free?

I've seen the list of unions but I'm not part of any of them. Just wondering if there are any other free options.

Hasn’t been updated in a while so maybe more options now.

        • Thanks. That's the same list that I was checking. Most of them requires paid memberships or existing professional/union membership.

I guess there's no free ways to get it.

  • Price a bit high. I got a WTW87566AU a few weeks ago for $1,662 from Appliances Online.

    • thats exactly the same % off RRP as this one so why is it any better?

Serious question btw. I’m happy to spend a little more if there’s good reason but I figure the small power saving would take too long to pay off to justify even $60 difference. Is there other benefits?

      • I asked the guys are AO the same question about 64 vs 66. From memory it was just the energy star rating.

  • Ring these guys up and ask for an offer, they have plenty of room to move if you say you have an "quote" from another store.

Good advice. I was thinking of just calling them up to match TGG commercial at least ( even though I can’t get it )

I got them to waive fridge delivery fee when matching TGG price once. Just said I don’t need delivery so will take the cheapest total. Easy and glad I did because their service was excellent.

  • A heat pump is just an aircon. Any idea why these are so expensive? Fancy extra features over a normal dryer?

    • Moisture goes into bucket or down the drain and not into the air. Great for units or rooms without external ventilation.

    • The heat pump allows the dryer to use much less energy Than a conventional condensor dryer. I did my sums and payback over a normal condensor is around 3-4 years from memory

    • Yes, I did some reading and looked up some reviews, a full load costs A$0.50 - A$0.60 - cupboard dry, and doesn't heat up the clothes to a high temperature.

Your typical condenser dryer cost 3x-5x as much per load and also the heat isn't good for your clothes.

  • Have the Aldi heat pump dryer I purchased for $599 last year. Very happy with it.

  • Little off suubject have a washing machine and fridge purchased from aol 7 plus years ago fridge still fine, washing machine is now just this week called it a day and needs replaced.
Never took extended warranty for them both had i done so then wasted money.
I have been looking at cheap washing machines to mid and expensive ones.
And maybe will go for one of the more expensive ones just over $1000.
Budget was originally going to be around $750 for something with some sort of name i know rather than not know.
The brand is highly regarded but like anything in life you get lemons and things happen its just luck.
And are they as well made as 7 yrs ago who knows.

Im just curious the % of people who buy extended warranty and did you get for piece of mind or did not get as expect item to last.
I know retailers make a killing from warranty and if i be honest tvs etc etc i have purchased never too a warranty maybe just been lucky.

But its not saying the one i buy or brand will be fault free, its mentioned about acl who can step in and help
has anyone purchased say $1000 machine and purchased it as its a good brand etc never took warranty out and had issues and had acl help after it went to crap after 2 yr warranty.

I know these days call outs and parts aint cheap but paying top dollar you expect it to last longer.

If you are not using this, then you should hand in your ozbargain badge

    https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/wvzRgEl5Q7h3XmfHNhlu…

    • I don’t have such a badge, but I do have 3 grotty kids and about 6 days a week of rain at the moment.

      • -2

And god said; let there be a dryer. Then he said; oh, but we need someone to use it. Let's make humans.

Humans lived without this for a very long time, rain or not.

        • I’ll be sure to keep that in mind.

        • You come do my laundry then.

We often can't even run the washing machine until 10pm due to kids. Let alone hang it out.

I used to think like you. But now I can advise that either you're not a parent for multiple children or your partner does all the house work.

Not to mention that now we're forced into drying at night, which is when the neighbor wants to run his fireplace, sometimes our clothes stink of smoke and we're back to square one.

          • -4

@justtoreply: Ha, so you want to tell me that humans have survived without this for thousands of years, yet somehow you can't.

Obviously haven't watched the Amish documentaries, who usually have dozen of kids, no washing machine, let alone a dryer, car,… yet somehow they still live just fine.

It's just called laziness, but because living in a well off country can afford to say it's necessary.

Ah, and have four kids jfyi. We both share responsibilities. It's called team work.

Got one better than this, costs nothing to run, your clothes come out smelling fresh and completely dry, it's called a clothes line .
