  • Not sure how they compare - I bought one of these yesterday: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07FMGPRHR/ref=ppx_yo_d…

Unless I am missing something, your link shows a picture of modular PSU with a description for a NON-modular version. Thou the modular image is only shown when viewing the 650w model.

Searching on the product code it appears you are correct - I'm attempting to cancel my order.

    • how long is the warranty? rmx has 10 years

    • Personally I'd go with Corsair but currently using Seasonic.

    • this is not bad too but the rmx is the best of the best

  • thanks very much.
been eyeing one of these for a while, this is awesome for $145

  • Amazing PSU. Have the 750x and haven’t heard the fan yet.

  • Does anyone know yet if the new 3000 needs a different pin connector or can you cake it work from existing PSU connectors?

    • +3

Even if the new RTX cards use a new 12 pin connector, there needs to be some sort of adapter to convert existing 6/8 pin PCIe to the 12 pin, otherwise nvidia would break compatibility with essentially every current power supply in existence.

      • Great question- I wondered the same.
Will these have enough juice for say a RTX 3080 - to early to say perhaps.

        • Depends if you’re OCing and other specs of your system.

        • Thinking same thing. The rm750x is just over $200 so may be worth the extra headroom incase. I’ll probably just wait till 30 series specs are released to see which one I actually need. Maybe we will all be surprised and the 60 or 70 will cover our needs and be more power efficient!!

          • @Wombatstew: The rm850x was on sale for 199 just the other week. But I was debating whether I needed that much overhead (e.g. If I don’t game too often so system draw is just around 150W normally, is it exactly the same efficiency as if I used a RM550x?)

        • The 650 definitely will, the 550 probably will (you'd have to be blowing 200 W on the CPU for it to start being a problem).

    • They will likely provide an adapter for it. the only thing u will be missing is a color matched cable if you’re using modded cables

  • Great PSU, bought one a few months ago. However, it seems to be the regular price (for the 550x which I have anyway). Only niggle I have with the PSU is that the included cables are a little on the stiff side - luckily my case has plenty of room for the cable into the graphics card but I imagine some smaller mATX cases may have troubles…

  • $144 is the normal price on the 550x from Amazon. Nice drop on the 650x though since it shot up at the start of covid

I bought one of these as a power supply for other uses - the result being that I tested it extensively. I can pull 10-qw Amps out of this at 12v and the fan doesn’t even spin up. It has Japanese capacitors, excellent build quality and extensive documentation regarding pin outs if you want to turn in it into a bench power supply. It has overload and short circuit protection, and I tested both. I don’t have a pc, but if I did, I would buy this brand.

  • It’s been $144 for months now.

  • Which psu would be better value?

    • +3

RM650x even if it's overkill for your system

  • I bought mine from amazon $135, 550x v2, great psu

  • Very good price for the 550x. Bought this for $166.50 ($185 less $18.50 coupon code) from ShoppingExpress eBay last July.

Is this an upgrade / downgrade from Raspberry Pi?

  • Will these work well with the new 3080 series coming out?

    • -1

If it's going to require 3x8 Pin, only the 650w version will support it.

  • Is this a sign to slowly start building a PC/upgrade from my gov refurb Optiplex?

  • what is the difference between this one and the eVGA B3 650W Fully Modular 80PLUS Bronze? is it the same?

    • Just a few of things I can think of (and I'm no expert - but I own the 650x and think it's really good):

I'm sure there are more important differences, but someone else may be able to explain them.

  • How is your Amazon US delivery experience? I am still waiting for a package I bought on 21st of July.

    • My personal experience was a little slow. I waited about a month for my GPU, CPU, and ram to arrive from the US. Although, most other users on here have had better experiences with their deliveries arriving well before the expected time frame so YMMV

Have had the RM550x powering an overclocked Ryzen 3600 / RTX 2070 machine without a sweat for over a year. The 650 should be capable of powering just about any high end consumer single GPU build you could get (so long as it doesn't have 20 HDDs).

Fan has been silent, only turning on gently when under heavy gaming use…when the ASUS Strix GPU fans (admittedly also pretty quiet) drown it out. Great deals!

    • I’ll probably use the RM650x to power 12x 3.5” HDDs and 4x SSDs. Just need to use some SATA power splitters and some Cablemod Molex to SATA (the safe crimped variety) cables.

  • Is this finished now? Showing $218 for me now.

  • What do you all think of this fully modular SilverStone 650W Strider Gold S for $139? Bought one for a friend's build.

  • Looks like the RM650x is back to $179.50 @ 21:33 20/08/2020

It's still this price now. I just ordered one.
