    Good price.

    I’m holding out for a GaN unit with 2 C ports…

    • +7

and with an AU plug* We can dream.

      • +3

Would the HyperJuice work? Bit expensive for sure but might meet those requirements?

        • There's a review on their website that says:

Perhaps the dumbest design fail on this unit is that the Aussie adaptor has to be installed upside down. It forces the charger to sit upside down (top heavy) on a wall power point or if it’s on a two-row power board, it blocks access to the opposite power point.

          • @Ultraman: That's probably because it's a Chinese plug which are upside down compared to Australian ones

            • @spaceflight: That would explain so many power adapters that I have…

            • @spaceflight: Yeah that would make sense, but then they shouldn't say it's for AU then hahaha.

              Travel-friendly pin converters
              Includes EU/UK/AU pin converters

Most (not all) use a standard figure 8 plug - under $5 at most places
        https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/jackson-fe…

        • That's no good for a GaN charger.

          • @Clear: GaN?

            • +2

@justtoreply: Gallium Nitride, refers to a new type of power adapter that generally is smaller and more efficient than the traditional offerings.

          • +4

@Clear: In what way is it no good for a GaN charger? If the charger itself accepts a figure 8 cable, any will work.

GaN only indicates that Gallium Nitride is used in the transistors instead of the standard Silicon and doesn't have an impact on what power cable you use.

            • -1

@fatal: Defeats the purpose of it being small. You're trying to educate the wrong person.

              • @Clear: I mean your initial point wasn't very clear. "No good" usually being taken that it won't work.

Not being argumentative, but advantage of GaN is not just size but efficiency/power output as well. Reading over your original comment you're right no use for a plug in type adaptor, but if you're using a a big 4 port adaptor like the above, having a figure 8 cable is necessary.

                • -1

@fatal: The original comment refers to a GaN charger with 2 USB-C.

                  • -1

@Clear: So why is that cable no good for a GaN charger with 2 USB-C?
-Seems fine for this 100w charger from a more reputable brand

                    • -1

@bondiben: Because the point of a GaN charger is the size and if you take a look at them you'll see most don't have it as it defeats the purpose.

      • All those suggestions look good thanks, but I’m happy to wait.

I have a RavPower 65W and want something compact (also $99’s breaking my budget).

      • +4

This is another GaN charger with an AU plug.

Looks good Chrissie, you happy with it?

        • +2

All I have done is charge my phone which isn't any test but will let you know. Got mine with a 100 watt 2m cable.
By the way placed my order on the 11/08 received today with free shipping. Could not believe it.

          • @chrisie: Aus plug?

            • @0jay: No Aus plug just a choice of EU & US . Got the US one, it fold away, makes for easy travel (maybe "Travel" is a dirty word these days)

        • +1

I use this baseus charger for my laptop and my phone and it works really well, only issue is it tends to get a bit hot after using for a long time. Also it comes with a US style plug and you might need an adapter.

          • @AwesomeAndrew: It's normal for chargers to get hot to the touch, not seeing an option for AU plug on this one though?

      • I got one of these, super fast and space efficient, not with the AU plug…

      • Some of the reviews on Ali and Amazon indicate it has reliability issues.A lot of them died within months. Also they apparently get very hot as well.
I thought of buying it but will wait for reliable GAN chargers from brands like Anker and Ravpower to become available with Australian plug.

GAN chargers from a heap of brands should be common by the end of this year.

If you do not like this, Satechi 75w may be ok. $71.2 now

    • Nice… been eyeing for one of these, was hoping to get the 2 C model though.

      • Which one? I checked the list on this website and see nothing available here. Sad! I really want to have Baseus 120w for my laptop.
        https://ganfast.com/products/

  • Not sure why I ordered this, but will probably figure it out at some point I suppose. Thanks OP.

Edit: I also ordered a 2M long USB C power delivery cable here: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07P8N69TM

Hmm. I should logon less frequently to OZBargain. Or may be not. :-)

  • Don't buy this, bad quality, mine broke after 10 months. Seller won't reply - bought from iXTRA

I thought Amazon has a good return policy
This is Prime item dispatched by Amazon
So worst case is to return this and get a refund

  • I highly recommend this GaN charger, up to 87W on USB C, only $30 delivered. (was $42 when I got it few months back)

In what way is this a GaN charger? It's just your typical USB power adaptor.

      • You might be right, I thought it's GaN due to it's tiny size, product page actually never says it's GaN…

  • I had a Coosa brand (similar to this). Not sure what happened but two of our phones were killed charging from it. However this is a different brand so might be differnt.

  • I have had one for a while.
It works well, charges Ipad, Iphone, even my HP Spectre 15.

  • My previous laptop charger from Kogan just died so this is perfect timing, thanks Clear!

  • If you don’t mind the wait and if you have the budget, this one seems to be the most advanced charger and very small, even their 200W one. The 100w one is really small.

Given up on kickstarter. A few projects funded and never delivered. You won't get ur money back

      • +1

You just have to do your due diligence, and be careful not to be the early backer.
I have funded about 10 projects on Kickstarter and Indiegogo and never had issues because I only go with the very potential project that already has thousands of people backing it and try not to be the early bird, unless it’s from the well-known company that has good track record.

    • Shocking company. Every Kickstarter/Indiegogo campaign they started are littered with negative reviews when the product eventually gets delivered where they are either faulty or aren't even close to living up to to their extraordinary claims.

This is just one example. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/flash-world-s-most-powerf…

      Take your money elsewhere.

  • I had one of these and got a lot of feedback through the power cable. So much so it made the iPhone screen erratic creating phantom touches and inputs not recognised. Had to go back to using my Nektek

I bought three of these 27W PD chargers with AU plug and that's the most decent one I can find (except for the Apple stock ones)

  • Another option, I got this Baseus one via Kickstarter, 120w GaN -
    https://a.aliexpress.com/_dYX7Pvs

Price on AliExpress is cheaper than the backer price I paid…

Only 3 ports though (2 USB C and one QC), and not a figure 8 power cable. Single USB C output 100w, 2 USB C 60+60.

  • Will this charge Nintendo switch?

    • Yes the USB-C port will as it's 60W. Should charge in dock mode too.

  • thanks op.

  • The 60W PD on USB-C is great, but 12W total across the 3 USB-A ports is going to disappoint - slow charging of legacy devices. I'm surprised, I normally love Choetech
