  • Iron pellets (multiguard) do the same thing without poisoning pets or the ground.

      From review on Bunnings:
“Multiguard and Multicrop, the company producing this product, should be held accountable for false and dangerous advertising! My husband and I bought this product because it said on the packaging that it's safe to use in a household with small animals and is not toxic. Within a day of using it in our veggie pots, our small sausage dog had a chance to eat the tiniest amount of it and 6 hours later started crying and collapsed… According to the vets who were then treating her, Iron EDTA causes very serious iron poisoning when ingested in even the smallest amounts!!! Something that Multicrop completely denies even though the vet clinics around Australia have had numerous cases due to animals eating Multiguard pellets. Our vet bill was $2400 and our dog barely got out of this alive!!! The company needs to take accountability and remove the friendly animal images and false advertising from the packaging NOW! Before anyone else buys this and loses their pet for good. BUNNINGS - we implore you, please take action and remove this product from your shelves until new packaging is released. This is irresponsible and negligent behaviour!!! Please help pet owners NOT buy this product, you're putting their pets' lives in danger!! Not to mention causing them serious financial hardship from vet bills trying to save their pets…”

  • I have used this and it helped considerably reduce slugs on walls around and trying to enter our house. Some slugs however avoided eating the pallets. So had to sprinkle them with salt.

Coffee ground fence around edge of pots and garden beds seems to ward slugs off.

Use compost bin as decoy - most end up on this and very easy to dispose of.

Once in a while go out at night with a torch and skewer the barstards/drown them.
