Is the extra money for this worth it over the Hisense 65Q8?

    • +2

I just bought a 75Q8 which has terrible black uniformity, which I will be returning. There are apparently known quality control issues. If you get lucky with the panel lottery, you may get a fantastic panel but you may end up with one like mine.

I'm debating between the X9500H or LG 65BX.

      • Wow that is terrible quality. Thanks for sharing!

If u plan to keep ur tv beyond the warranty period then yes.
My hisense developed a pink line close to top right corner of the screen while I was setting up the TV.

    • Probably. I've had two Hisenses and don't get me wrong they're great.. for the money. The first one is the m7000 which has a decent enough panel but interacting with the TV is very sluggish. It's also developed pretty severe clouding but it's a spare TV now and still fit for purpose. Our main TV is a 65 inch N7 and it's pretty good. The colour reproduction and picture quality is good, dimming and HDR are average but do the job and it interfaces fine with my denon receiver. The software is much faster than the older m7000 but still very average. It rarely gets software updates. The available apps are fine but the "app store" is very bad. By in large the stock ones like youtube and netflix work perfectly fine, but there isn't much else on offer in their store (I can't get Disney+ or Prime Video, for example).

Don't get me wrong, I can hardly fault Hisenses for the money I've paid for them but my next TV will probably be a Sony or an LG.

    ps5 ready?

    • +1

Nope the x90h is though .

      • +1

It's bizarre that they'd add a feature to a lower model but not the higher model.

    • What does ps5 ready need to have?

      • +1

        HDMI 2.1 from memory.

        • Damn, sounds like I need a new receiver too…

          • +1

@Kammi: Not if you plug the PS5 direct into the TV and the TV back into the receiver for the audio.

      • Lol that's the X9000H, not X9500H which is in this deal

  • This is probably the best TV in this price bracket at the moment.

Except if you plan to do a lot of next gen console gaming. In which case wait for the Sony X9000H.

  • Whats a good sub $1K 65" TV?
Still Hisense 65S8 or would you recommend something else?
Already have a Shield TV so don't need a feature packed TV anyways. TIA

  • This of the LG CX?

I think I've established from reviews that the CX Oled is slightly better than the Samsung Qleds.

    • i was looking at that too recently.
cx better picture but qled better brightness and in rooms with reflections plus no burn in.
looking at x90h too, when irs out.

      • i wonder if that can be had for 2k by nov

  • Is it worth paying more to get a 75"?

    • i think harvey and jb do free wall mounting and delivery on over 75 inch. 65 inch and over for harvey from memory. so if u can get them to pricematch gg u may get that bonus too. need to buy bravket too tho

  • This’s a great TV with around 1000 nits sustained brightness however it lacks HDMI 2.1 support which is disappointing…

  • +4

LG CX OLED is a better picture with HDMI 2.1 & will be this price by November/December

  • 65Q80T for $2,3K or 65X9500H for $2.7K?
was using Sony for the last 7 years (movies only) so not sure about Samsung.. I hate Samsung's "soup opera" picture but looks like it can be disabled in settings
What about upscaling, who is better?

    RTING says :

For most uses, the Samsung Q80T QLED performs a bit better than the Sony X950H. They have very similar performance for the most part, but the Samsung has better motion handling, lower input lag, and it supports variable refresh rate technology to reduce screen tearing. On the other hand, the Sony has a significantly higher peak brightness and its black uniformity is also much better

    • I went from a Sony 65 x93E (2017) to a 65 x85G (2019) and there are noticeable gui improvements, the remote is slimmer too.

Have a play with the Samsung gui instore if you can.

    • where is 65Q80T for 2.3k may i ask? the lowest i am seeing is 2.6k

      • available under Samsung EPP program

  • i outlined this deal in the first coupon post in the comment section.. i mentioned its still over priced so didn't bother posting it
