7th gen i3? 2x physical core?

An i5 4570 will outperform this for about $200-$250.

  Should be better as a media centre though. 53W vs 84W, so the fan should be quieter, and Kaby Lake means hardware h265 and hevc support, and don't need a graphics card (not that it can really fit anything other than a 1030 though). Can have a NVME as a boot, then a slot for a 3.5inch hdd.

    unfortunatly he's right… the i3 7100 is NOT a good cpu at all. Its a dual core non turbo 2.4 - that's it.
    
    The 4570 is quad AND it's base freq. is 3.2 and it boosts to 3.6… on all cores.
    
    I'd rather have cheap i5 4570 w/ a low profile gfx card.
    
    The 7th gen i3 is really just a socket warmer slash place holder.
