    Price/Store in title pls

  • updated the price in title thanks. Its on website so all the stores?

    • +6

The question is did you snag one before posting… :)

  • +7

    Galaxy Note Ultra 5g 256Gb - $594 ETC + $349 = $943 (RRP $1999)

Surely too good to be true?

    • that's what stood out to me too - it will be a great deal to be had

    • why etc is only 594?

    • +3

Wouldn't think too many people are needing 150GB of data these days. Likely won't for another 12 months or more, either.

Feels like they're using the cheap handset to push their higher plans

      • Some people could cancel their NBN and use this exclusively if they aren't heavy users at home.

    • Plus an enquiry to your credit record

  • Is this legit?

  • +3

    Bad choice for exynos

    • +7

yes, but great value at this price point though..

      • Very good price point, more than makes up for it.

    • -2

I thought we always got Snapdragon variants from Sammy in AU?

      • No, that's US only because of their cellular bands.

  • +1

The S20+ turns out to be more than the note20 ultra. Must be a price error?

  • -3

Exynos 990??? Excuse me?? Stop ripping off.

  • +1

Well it's pretty impossible to do this unless in-store…

  • +2

That can't possibly be right. A $2500 phone for $1349 total minimum cost?

    • Yeah had me thinking

    • Min cost is $1537 still cheap

  • How much monthly data?

    • +1

150 gb plus unlimited at capped speed

  • +1

maths arent my strong suit, but this isn't calculating properly

  • +2
    • +1

Doesn't say anything about the $500 store credit though

      • +1

        Because you're not getting a $500 store credit - you're getting a $1650 credit

        https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-galaxy-note20-ult…

        ($1999 RRP, but it's only $349 upfront on this $89/month deal - $1650 credit)

It probably doesn't mention $1650 credit either, as it can only be used for the Note 20 if it's like previous deals.

    • Holy sugar! This confirms it's true and not price error? Also is the bud live promotion still on?

    • +21

99% of buyers would have no idea what Exynos is, nor would they care. Hell, I'm an IT nerd, I know the differences and I still don't care. I'm happy with my Exynos S9, I'd happily buy another.

    • +6

I love my Exynos N20U - Oh no I'm crying over it being 4% slower in benchmarks waaa waaa waaa

      • Battery life is worse by a fair margin

    • Yawn… another sheeple comment

  • +1

It's possible the "$349" tag belonged to another phone?

  • Good price

  • at least wasn't posted on Friday night

  • +1

Its actually $89p/m thanks to $10credit every month as well

    • -2

      How you get credit?

  • Wtf noooo Victoria is closed. Woww

  • +18

*** JUST CALLED AND JBHFI AT BROADWAY NSW CONFIRMED WILL DO IT NOW - MIGHT BE A ERROR SO GET IN QUICK - $943 EVEN IF EXYNOS - GREAT BARGAIN FOR BRAND NEW PHONE RELEASED 2 SECONDS AGO

    • +13

In store now and can confirm the system doesn't recognise this deal as the ultra but rather the normal Note20 for $349, but they're checking up further as it's definitely advertised as the ultra.

Edit: Confirmed as a price error and an apology note is coming.

      • Edit: Confirmed as a price error and an apology note is coming.

        Boo. Thanks for checking

        • thanks, almost get my ass up to JB now.

      • +1

Damn. Thanks for getting there quick

I had a feeling the phone guy didn't know if it was legit

Saved me from busting open my knee stitches again … Would have been worth it though 😂

      • Thanks, stucked in victoria, can't go to JB in lockdown, was feeling cursed, tied, down, low motivation, thousands of things running in mind, jumping from sofa to dinning table nd back ,,,,, feeling so relaxed now 🤭

  • -3

seems like a not so good phone (note ultra) based on the reviews.

  • +16

    Sadly I live Melbourne 😭😭

"Yes officer I was headed to JB Hi Fi"

      "For what purpose?"

"There was this sweet deal on OzBargain for an Note20 Ultra for 349 bucks with 12 Month $99 a Month Telstra Plan, even though it's EXYNOS it's cheap AF. Could be a pricing error but I really should get going."

"… wait I'll get you a police escort before that shit gets brodened"

  • +1

It's actually $89 per month. That is a bit ridiculously cheap…
But my Note 8 still works fine…

    • My note 8 has issues with fasting charing and DeX mode so I'm tempted 🥴

      • did dex ever work on a Note8 ? i haven't got mine working either

        • It works fine. I noticed DeX with Galaxy tab s4 or other newer devices offer more features though

    • I'm on a cracked note 9 and I'm still super tempted!

      • -1

        software or screen

        • Screen

  • +1

How long do you need to be on another provider before being able to switch back?

    • Curious about this too…

    • -1

      30 days

    • +2

0 days. Just go in and sign up for a new service, then get on Telstra support and get them to merge your old number with the new plan. You might be hanging about with the new number for a couple of days but it means you don't have to wait at all.

I did this myself 2 months ago and it worked flawlessly.

      • Second this. Did this with Boost Prepaid. Swapped out to an Aldi 5$ sim, then swapped back to Boost all in the same day.

  • +9

These deals are taunting people living in Metro Melbourne

  • -7

Many latest phones can do 120 hz+ QHD+ resolution at the same time because they use snapdragon versions. This phone can't do both at same time because it is limitation of exynos. So samsung couldn't allow 120 hz and qhd+ resolution at same time for snapdragon versions and leave the exynos as it is. So they just gave up on that on both versions.

  • +5

    something something exynos

  • Wow!
    Shame I'm in Vic 😭

  • S20 ultra was on $199 other week, why wouldn't this possible?

    • It's was PLUS not Ultra

  • +1

I'm waiting. Headphone jack rumoured to be making a comeback next year

    • I hope , but I don't think so it will ever come back now.

  • How do i get this? I'm in Melbourne

  • +1

    So to clarify:
    Pay $349 upfront
    Port into Telstra $99 plan
    Cancel straightaway? Pay $594
Any charges to be paid for the plan (pro rata or otherwise?)

    And that's it?
Why not the $69 or $89 plan? Is the ETC the same for all plans?

Sorry, never done this before, so wanting to get it right!

    • +1

Why not the $69 or $89 plan? Is the ETC the same for all plans?

      There's only a $49/$69/$99 plans.

This offer is a $10 discount off the $99 plan - but the phone is only available on this $99 plan (ie, you couldn't get the same deal on a $69 plan)

      • Thanks for the explanantion!

      • can I get the $10 discount on other $99 plans

    • It's 594 cos that's half of the 99 X 12 months.

89 is with a credit but that won't credit towards etc

So u only pay the outright of phone in store and the 594 for the termination

So that's why this is a good deal for 994

  • Im with telstra, best way to do this?

    • +1

Add new service . Confirmed with Broadway NSW

      • can i switch my number straight after to the plan?

        • You can take your old sim card and physically put it into the new phone, yes.

      • agalea101 are you able to get this deal ?

        • if i didnt have stitches in my knee - i would have gotten in there within 4 min - but alas I was too late and DOWWEY got there and confirmed.

So no i didnt get it :(

          • @agalea101: Ah … sorry 4 that … was thinking to call JB after lockdown in Metro Melbourne to run deal again for Victoria, if it goes legit in other states :(

  • Ported out to Optus a week ago. Do I still need to be away for 30 days to be classified as a new customer?

    • From all the readings I've done here on Ozbargain, yes.

  • How do people go about doing this? Buy a cheap prepaid SIM to port in? Or port in their main number then port put?

  • edit: Actually read the fine print

  • +2

Just rang up JBHIFI Elizabeth ST Victoria 3000
They told me not available in victoria due to lockdown :(

  • is this locked to Telstra?

    • Telstra 'branded' phones on Telstra plans are never locked, AFAIK.

    • Nopes … Its a JB phone, not Telstra Branded.

  • +2

I am in jb hifi Artarmon store , they are saying they have only $349 upfront deal for standard note20 (not ultra), and only $99 a month

    • Website says $199 upfront for the standard note 20 on the same plan.

    • That not correct. Its on their website. Show them.

    • Went to Blacktown and same thing :(

  • Damn I just did the s20+ deal….
