  • Pulled the trigger…. this has been coming down and down in price. Thanks OP.

For anyone that has a local umart it's $155 which is $3 more than this deal because of the delivery fee. Not only for more rapid pickup but also for warranty and peace of mind.

That's a ripper deal for the A2000. If they had a 2TB model (priced competitively) I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

  • Oh bloody hell, buying the 500GB one recently for $95 is seeming worse and worse :-) Good deal here!

    • +1

Sorry about that… but it depends on use case - I'm using my in a Synology NAS box and it's only using about 140gb (with a 85%+ average hit rate)

      • +1

True, I'm using it as a project files drive for video editing, plenty of room for now.

I have altered the deal, pray I don't alter it any further.

  • This will fit straight into a HP Elite 800G2 mini?

  • Great price. Random bluescreens reported due to the drivers is a deal breaker.

    • For what it's worth mine has been perfect for about a month now, are you sure you don't have a faulty drive? Or maybe something else is causing it?

      • I don't own this drive. Wide ranging reports of the drivers causing random bluescreens though. Google "a2000 blue screen" without the quotes.

        • I've seen the same reports and in particular my mobo seems to drive this issue when using gigabytes RGB fusion

On that note I've never installed RGB fusion and mines been running well (aorus b450i mobo)

But I can imagine for some people it's not worth the risk

        • I thought it was the problem with MSI RGB software, an update could fix it? Anyway I'm using it with Asus B550M-A for a few weeks now, no problem with it.

      • drivers for ssd drive?

wow. i think im doing it all wrong

    Cries in msata

  • are these Triple-Level Cell? or Quad?

  • I don't understand why we're still promoting shopping square when it's the dodgiest website around and you might never receive the item. Reviews online are awful and from past experiences no one should be promoting them.

I was almost convinced and then I looked at the total price plus shipping - $152. It's $155 at umart and I can pick it up and have a local store to deal with for warranty if needed.

Good deal if you don't have any option but delivery.

  • Dumb amateur question, can these be used as portable drives?

    • +1

You can, but you need to separately get an enclosure for it.

There isn't a big market for it, so you can either get an expensive Asus ROG one, or roll the dice with some unbranded ones.

    • +1

It's possible but enclosures are not cheap and you'll be restricted to half of its maximum speed, SATA SSDs make more sense for portable use.

      • so you still need a enclosure with aSATA one?
I went to look at the ‘portable’ SSD at Officeworks they were 500GB for $150+
I want to download and upload a whole load of videos so thought SSDs would be better than your normal portableHD?

    • +1

Yes, but you have to use a enclosure like this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33056180218.html

  • I am with Cyrus225, Shopping Square sold me a fake Samsung Evo Plus 256gb microsd card and will not answer my email. That was after waiting for nearly a month and came direct from Chynah.

    • How do u tell if it’s fake?

      • +3

one of the easiest ways is to use a program called h2testw and write and read to the drive to see if its actually the capacity, second would be to check on the manufacturers website for some detailed pictures and make sure the upc checks out etc.

    • chargeback?

  • Has anyone received theirs?
Ordered on the 31/8 and still haven't seen any tracking numbers.
