Just a reminder, Apple’s hardware keynote is just around the corner, as are the ARM based macs, from which Airs are likely to be fitted with it first and their other entry models.

Whether they want to charge a premium for it or not is anyone’s guess, but these Intel Macs should still be supported for the next 3-5 years at least.

If you can wait do it. Otherwise enjoy a great OS

    • I can't see how the Air will be the first, as it was only updated this year. Discussions have been that it will be some of the Pro models first. Either way, an interesting time.

      • You’re probably right, my memory’s hazy, although what I read were just rumours anyway.

      • I heard the Pro's will stay Intel for a few years yet. But let's see what happens.
All reports are the Integrated GPU's on the ARM CPU's are way ahead of the Intel ones. So really keen to see how they perform.

    • I've heard the same things. Also, shouldn't the old model drop in price if a new one is available? Then again, Apple doesn't do a lot of discounting.

      • My thoughts are they might, since they rarely officially discount, they could do it to cheapen the Intel option and therefore make their own custom chip appear even more premium. But yeah again just my opinion. There may be zero discount, can’t wait for the keynote

  • This model has thermal issues, the internal fan is poorly positioned. Like not over the CPU heatsync!!! It wouldn't be like Apple do have done this on purpose to ensure the ARM models are a major step up in performance.
    Key keyboard though..:)

    • Yes, one youtube guy points out that flaw - its designed to fail!

      • Fail is relative, but yes fail to deliver the expected performance by continual to reduce performance "throttling" to maintain thermals.
