Is it a smart move to transfer to velocity points, instead of from?

  • no flybuys or Citibank

Nor Westpac and ANZ. Limited partners for this bonus

    Hah. No thanks.

Velocity just reopened up the store for gift card and product redemptions. Not a great deal of stuff there but maybe it's a good idea to burn your points before there is no more velocity?

    • Huh? There will still be velocity. Redemption rate will increase though

      • +3

Well you never know in this climate. I know it's a separate company to virgin but the store closed up temporarily before when they went into receivership for me id rather not keep my points there

        • +1

It was closed because the redemption is linked to virgin airlines. If virgin airlines ceased to be, then what will happen to those people who redeemed flights with virgin airline? A lot of headache that's what. It was a better decision to shut up shop to prevent issues down the track. Unfortunately one of the issue is the rumour that velocity is going out.

Velocity was never in danger of being shut down.

The issue now is the agreement with VA (Bain) will change so redemption values will change as well.

    • Never been a great value, even less now - an item I bought just before they closed the redemption store previously is now 10% dearer.
But then again, it's an option if you don't want to wait for flight redemption (for those who can't fly ATM..).

    • Oh they've reopened? Great! Thanks for the PSA!

Best way to donate your points to velocity.

  • 120% x 0 = 0

    • :) reality!

  • with no certainty… is this a good choice?

Luckily I cashed all my points to JB HIFI cards before the close the shop when most of the choices were available.
