Gigabyte Aorus 750W 80+ Gold Fully Modular Power Supply PSU GP-AP750GM $179 Delivered @ PC Byte

41

Slightly more expensive than the cooler master deal but I've heard a power supply shortage to be likely especially with the new NVIDIA cards.

    • My PC powersupply decided too die so hopeing its the problem as managed too get one delivered (+$15) from Bendigo Centrecom store as only pickup available for these power supplies and you cant speak too anyone at there metro stores to organise delivery cause of the covid situation

Actually originally my intention was traveling too the Centrecom Bundoora store and rang Department of Health and Services,.. first too make sure i was allowed too travel more then 5kms (30 min drive) and yes as i need my PC for study im allowed to do so, but fortunately actually they had no stock and delivery was a better option

Badly wanted this PS,.. fans power down when load reaches below 20% load and bonus 10 years warranty πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ

      Covid hotline,..1800675398,.. hit 2 then 2

  • 10 years warranty, nice.
Power supply shortage is meant to go on for several months still so this is a good deal.

    • Source? Not sure if I should buy my SFX PSU now since I'm building in November, because they're so damn expensive and I'm hoping for a sale on an SF750 from now til then. If the shortage is expected to continue though I'll just buy it today.

      • In case you're interested Umart currently has the SF750 for $239 or there's a $229 open box at Mwave.

I was kind of the same, trying to hold out for a sale but wasn't sure how likely it was, so decided to just buy. I'm happy to wear any extra cost to have it when I need it.

        • That's true. For a high end SFX PSU such as the SF750, it would barely go on sale in usual circumstances, let alone during a pandemic.

Those are good domestic prices. It was $238 delivered (prime) on Amazon UK a 2-3 days ago, should've just bought it then.

          • @caffeine69: You may get lucky with Black Friday sales. I hear Amazon is starting them early. I figured the NR200 + RTX 3000 might put more pressure on the SF supply but then that might also be alleviated by the new Cooler Master SFX PSUs when they turn up. So basically who knows hahah

            • @Mintchip: Yeah I'm also going the NR200 route. I don't know about other brands when it comes to SFX PSUs. I've heard nothing but good things (except for a fault in some SF series PSUs a few months ago) when it comes to Corsair power supplies, especially their SFX line. Other brands like Silverstone and Cooler Master are a lot cheaper but I've heard their fans can be quite loud (not a dealbreaker for some, is for me). I also like Corsair's Fanless operation when not under load.

Yeah I'm thinking about holding out until Black Friday. But, like you said, the launch of next gen CPUs and GPUs means that many will upgrade their entire systems, or build completely new PCs and cause huge demand pressures on PSUs. If I buy it now, it's gonna end up being like $200 in a couple months on Black Friday. If I don't, it's gonna end up being more expensive haha

              • @caffeine69: No doubt, I have similar luck so now that I’ve bought you can probably expect a good sale in the next couple of weeks haha. Good luck with your build whenever you do end up buying!

        • Whens Black Friday again ?

It is cheaper elsewhere, but great pickup anyway :) love the effort! Always supportive of someone trying to help others out with a deal.

For those curious about the PSU itself, it gets a Tier B (recommended for midrange systems) in the LTT Forums PSU Tier List, which isn't bad - puts it alongside Corsair's CX and the Silverstone Strider Gold S, which is pretty good company to be in.

  • My bad centercom is the better deal obviously haha

  • The Centrecom one doesn't come with an AU Plug, as it says in the title: Gigabyte Aorus AP750GM 750W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply (No AU power cable included)

    • AC Power Cables are pretty cheap fortunately. I personally use double AC cables so I can power my PC and Monitor with one cable. Having an Aus power cable might be preferable for some so It's good to have the option I guess

  • I've heard a power supply shortage

    Pointless upgrade for most

We're dealing with people who think PSUs explode for some reason though.

    • Mine has pretty much started to do just that - it randomly turns off under high load. It's over 10 years old though. Haven't been looking long but I'm struggling to find something to replace it with at a decent price. It's only 530W and I don't need more than that (PC part picker says I'm using an estimated 388W) but I want something solid and quiet with decent efficiency because I sit next to it all day everyday of the week.

    • I've gone through 2x in 2 years though they didn't explode, first one a corsair 1200 watter completely died, second one 850 watter same brand and I dont think it helped I bought these secondhand,. second one sort of still alive if I keep switching the mains off and keep trying power on switch of PC and keep re trying until eventually PC starts up, might eventually pull them apart see if I can see any visible faulty electronic parts or soldiering . maybe fixable πŸ€‘πŸ€ͺπŸ‘

  • Isn't it always at this price?

  • Does this come with AU plug

  • Is this noisy?

    • fans power down when load reaches below 20% and bonus 10 years warranty, will certainly post my thoughts when I get mine

Like i posted above one can get one delivered ($15) from Bendigo Centrecom store, you'll have too start your order over the phone and they only accept bank transfer which they'll send you bsb/account bank details on an emailed order you've place over the phone with them, here's there number 0383117690, Frankston store has stock also but no over the phone orders so forget them for this powersupply

Goodluck getting one as very very low stock πŸ€‘πŸ€ͺπŸ‘
