  Been looking at one lately to help monitor power usage, along with having the ability to control on/off states.
  Found these on Amazon which appear to be better bang for buck, albeit not a well known brand like D-Link.

    That's TP-Link, not D-Link as per OP. Still pretty much same same - just a bit bigger in size.
