  • So do they ever do these deals for iPhones?

    • +1

Yes iphone 11 for $299 upfront.

  • +2

Just called a saleman for anyone waiting for Iphone 11 to drop it wont happen :(

  • Seems to me that they don't do the $65/month deals anymore…

  • Can I return the phone unopened for store credit/ JB gift card?

    • Can't see why u can't get a full refund in the format the item was purchased in, a giftcard.

    • -1

yeah and you get $0 in store credit because you walked away with the phone and paid $0 in the first place.

oh wait. you expect paying $0 and get $800 store credit ?

      • -1

No, $899 credit & no phone.
        Try to keep up, genius.

Got this deal today in WA, was offered a new number…didn't have to do the porting muck around, even though it does say the deal is for port-in's from non-Tesltra on the banner.

  • JB has 49$,69$ & 99$ deals
With different value credits on phones
    Check in store

Had a s10. Replaced with an oppo find x2 pro. Never looked back.

    Issues(with mine at least)
Phone got uncomfortably hot to hold from simple browsing on chrome at times
    Battery life was appalling
Would get the occasional 1 minute frozen lag in camera when activated via power button shortcut
Have hiccups connecting to my wifi. None of my other devices had trouble connecting

Happy with my oppo so far🤞

    • Have the same phone, no no issues whatsoever. You must have got a lemon or one of your apps could have been the culprit.

  • Hello all.. Do you guys think I can port from ALDI MOBILE???

    • Dont see why not. But you can always call jb hifi/telstra and ask

  • Noon question, is this phone locked to telstra or unlocked?

    • +2

      Morning answer, not locked.

      • Cheers mate!

  • I have a feeling this may drop down to $59-69 near Christmas… Clearing old stock like they did with the S8… But don't quote me on it haha.. I've still got the S8 from the family friends deal $49 a month 25gb data.. can't find anything better tbh

    • I got that FNF deal too in 2017 xmas. That was really amazing plan with phone included. Plan and phone prices have gone up so much since then.

  • I did this yesterday all went smooth although Telstra was very unhappy about the cancellation

  • Just tried both JB Marion & Rundle Mall to get a different phone under this deal as some others have managed in this thread but no go. Ill just await them to have the S20+ deal again.

    • I tried same at Chatswood. No dice. Got the S10 instead.

  • As they just give you a gift card for the value of the phone, does anyone know if they will let you use it on a different phone? Would rather a pixel 4.

  • +2

    Hey guys,

So I signed up for the $99 plan for a Note 20, paying $299 upfront. To my surprise, when I acted to cancel through live chat, the rep checked my coverage and found "4g coverage to be coming". I thought she meant 5g, but nope - 4g. Granted, reception where I live apparently isn't great with Telstra to begin with according to my visitors.

Long story short, the contract was cancelled, early termination fee waived and I'm left with a $299 note 20.

Thanks OP; reckon I owe you a few beers to say the least.

    • Wait so with early termination we can get note 20 for 594+299? Where is this deal comes from?

      • +1

Yep. I went in store yesterday and got the S10 but the salesman tried to sell me the Note 20 for $299 and the $99 plan. So the $299 and ETC of $594. Not bad for a couple of weeks old phone, but the price it probably should be.

      • Yes but this is for the Note 20 4G, which also lacks high refresh rate. Looks like they are trying to get rid of them!

      • A post from ~3 weeks ago here

        • ah.. yeah i remember saw that post… and because of how people say the product isn't that good, i gave it a pass already.

  • I've got a sim only plan with Optus that I'm pretty happy with and want to keep the number.

What's the best way to go about getting this deal and terminating the contract etc? Grab a $2 Sim card from Optus for example and then get the deal with that number ported in.

Cancel the contract, pay the etc and out the existing Optus Sim into the phone? Or will it be locked to Telstra?

    Thanks

    • +1

The best way is, to read all the comments from page 1.

      • Very helpful….thanks.

    • +2

Unless you don't want to be with Telstra or are paying less than $45 for your Optus plan, there's not really a reason to cancel the contract on this phone. The ETC/cost of the phone technically reduces your plan cost to ~$45 for 12 months.

      • Thanks Serpentine.

I think it makes sense to go for it as I'm only $27/month for the Optus plan and get quite a lot of data etc.

      • ozb pay like $10 a month to Boost/Belong/Amasym with Data banking

        • Agree. Phone plan is bad. Full stop.

        • True. I'm still stuck on really bad ADSL2+ so will be using the 150GB as tethering data when I need to download things quick.

  • Please bring back the $65/month plans tomorrow again ;-)

  • Any new deals today?

  • Has anyone received the bill for the early termination fee?
