Honolulu travel periods: 13 Jan - 26 Mar 2012. There are return fares available for the same price.

  • hopefully they can do better than tiger and jetstar when it comes to service. Look forward to them expanding to to other cities.

Quite a good time to be changing names to "Air Australia" after this Qantas debacle, one might say its very strategic.

I've read your post in David Caruso's voice.

      YYYEEEAAAHHHHHHH!!

  • Any idea if Jetstar will beat this fare by 10%, they do have a "Price beat Guarantee" but no so good service :(

  • Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) in flying with them? I read some negative reviews saying that the airline has plenty of delays and cancellations?

    • I've been on the ex Portuguese plane a few times. There were delays, did one trip without the entertainment system. But the plane always made it so that was a good experience. One trip was memorable for the stewardess who sounded like a dead ringer for Borat.

      • Wow, got any pix? :)

'Plane always made it' lolz I would say that's pretty high on the must happen list……
Sounds like Tiger air all over again :)

Those that didn't make it didn't get to post on Ozbargain. :)

    • Been to Phuket no dramas.
      Full Service.

        "Full Service"

Good choice, specially in Thailand :)

        • bang bang?

1 month until HNL and they have yet to secure a leased A330 for it…

    Careful……

  • The Honolulu service is still "subject to regulatory approval", so perhaps strange that they are already selling tickets for that leg. I know nothing about the approval process, but wonder what happens if they dont get the approval and you've already booked (they claim the tickets are non-refundable)

No offense but feel a bit funny for a company less than 10 owned airplanes is called " Air Australia ".

  • Does any know do we need visa to Honolulu by using Aust Passport?

    • +1

you dont need a visa but you will need travel authorisation from US.

will need to go to this site

      https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/

I think it is around $14 bux.

    • technically you need a visa to go into any country but usually being Australian you do not need to apply in advance except i the states now there is a process they introduced a few years ago where you need to apply for something online before going, see the usa embassy site for more info.

Unless you are on the no fly list or have a criminal history you will be fine

      • Cuongizzle beat me to it…lol

    • If you plan on staying more than 3 months than you'll need one.
