Don't be afraid of the brand. Galax is good. I've seen some good overclocks done with their goods.

Anyone want to buy my RTX 2080(Non super version) for $977? Been used almost 2 years now. It is Galax branded. Good deal, adios.

    • …but its cheaper to buy new and its a super

    • I bid you $97.70.

    • I'll give you my 1060 and a wet sock

      • You know what, I'll throw in the wet sock

Supposedly the 3080 is double the performance, so this should be half the 3080 price tag

    • Nothing but facts.

    • +1

AU launch gouge price? so it's about right.

    • +2

Yep and reviewers will be allowed to post their own benchmarks on the 14th of September. Gamers Nexus on Youtube is who to watch regarding the benchmarks its certainly gonna be interesting. Go Steve!

      • Much prefer TPUs written reviews

    • +3

That is not too far so. Rtx 3080 will be 1300. The 1140 price is dreaming by now.

      • The problem is the new $800 card 3070 should have a bit more power then 2080ti.

        • Less Vram tho…which makes a difference at higher resolutions.

      • There will be 16 different version of Galax 3080 available in China, and the cheapest one is around 1040 AUD.

    • What should i expect brand new 2060s to be when the 30xxs arrive?

      • My guess would be around $400-450. Lower and mid range cards don't get discounted too much sadly.

    • Distributors will try hold the prices up for as long as possible until the inevitable sub-3000 market crashes comes.

Once they do come, 2000 series will be budget PC king's!

    • 3080 is double the performance of the 2080, not the 2080 super. The 3080 looks to be about 50 to 60% higher performance than 2080 Super.

    • Without the founders edition to anchor the price this might end up being half the price in in Australia.

I'm still holding on tight, RTX 40 series arriving 2022.

    • +9

It's so close, crazy not to wait

    • +2

But rtx 50 the following year! I’m sure it will be worth the wait. 960hz easy

I hope people buy this so there'll be fewer looking for the 3000 series when it comes out.

  • second hand 2080tis going for this price

    • Some even cheaper

      • +7

I don't know where you're seeing 2080ti's for less than $800, most of the listings I've seen are clowns trying to offload their 2080tis for over $1000.

        • I'm yet to see a 2080 Ti on eBay for <$1000 but saw a few going on Gumtree/FB Marketplace for ~$900.

          • @smogg: I've seen one go for $850 plus postage. But that's just one

        • eBay auctions always go overpriced for some reason. I've seen a few locally via Gumtree for 750 (high tier models too)

    • Because a used card potentially without warranty, not knowing what it has been used for and any faults is a better deal than brand new. You may as well go neg every other deal with anything new.

      • Bought year old 2080ti with 2 years left. Registered for warranty with proof of purchase. You're setting yourself up for disappointment buying a 2080 super at this time $800.

  • What's wrong with Galax?

    • Nothing. Had a few over the years. Current card is a Galax 1070 Ti. Overclocks well and been going strong for years

  • +1

If the Ti variants manage to drop to this price it's probably worth picking up over the 3070 everyone is waiting for.. since they'll likely be closer to $900 and out of stock everywhere at release

  • +3

    399 , youll have a deal.

  • Don't buy this. Rysen 4700 will be out soon cheaper and faster

    • +4

Is AMD going in reverse for their naming schemes now?

    • I'd rather wait for the new Western Digital 2TB HDDs. /s

  • The first 3080 performance leak, it may be taken down anytime watch while its still available.

The tester speaks in Chinese and the subtitle is also in Chinese but I guess it's not hard to figure what he is saying by looking at the numbers and the key words. Overall it has about 30-40% performance increase from 2080TI.

The actual test starts at about 7:00, enjoy.

  • They've put this back up to $999.
