think they were selling for around this price when they were on special @HN anyways?

    • +1

Yeah, but seemed to have very limited availability in store…

      • yeah true - if your HN had like 50 touchpads, they would have only had 5 keyboards.

however my HN had 10 touchpads, and 3 keyboards. I got the last touchpad - still 3 keyboards there ;)

        • I got a keyboard a month ago from Amazon for $27 inc postage..
I didn't really think i needed it but had heard they were good - It's true, They are awesome keyboards!! Knowing how good they are, i'd even buy one for $39 as listed here!

Dang, paid slightly more to get a couple in from amazon.com a few months back, good deal, love the touchstone.

  • How long will the case be available for?

  • Nice, already got 3 from Amazon, they're really cool chargers - I love having them set to do different things depending on which room the touchstone is in.

    Alarm Clock for my room..
Music Player for my office desk..
    Web browser for the toilet!

      let me rephrase that

      • Alarm Clock for my room..
      • Music Player for my office desk..
      • Porn* browser for the toilet!
  • Nice! Will be getting a case.

  • Put the prices in the title please.

I was looking for these just last night… getting it for my Acer A501 (yes it works fine)… I know there are cheaper keyboards out there but this one is quite decent quality.

    • cheers mate :)

    • Definately! You won't be sorry about purchasing one.
      They are solidly constructed too

      • Yes its very nice… most of the extra buttons like volume etc. work fine too… happy purchase.

  • Ahhem…. any idea how the keyboards connect to the touchpad? Bluetooth I would assume but would like to know for certain.

    • +4

      blu-tack

    • Bluetooth yes… I don't know how universal that is with regards to actually working with other devices, though as I said it has been confirmed OK with Iconia A500/1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19040798)

      • Yeah we've tested it with the A500 as well.
It looks to share the same basic keyboard instructions that all other keyboards use. (including the volume, mute etc)
Not all the TouchPad specific keys worked.
There is a button to take you back to the 'card view' and on Android this just takes you back to the home screen (Which it what you'd want anyways)

I've used it on my laptop as well, and all the standard keys(inc volume buttons) work fine.

  • swish. Thanks OP.

  • Free shipping for the case!

Just got a case, awesome! Too bad $49 is still way too much for, what is essentially, a charger (especially for a $100 item).

    • it is alot, but they really are awesome! so much so that we bought a second one (from Amazon for $35)
All together it makes for a pretty versatile 10" photoframe. You can even display websites etc in exhibition mode.. It is pretty versatile and EASY to use, so i would recommend forking out the $50.. Guaranteed you won't be sorry..

      • The aforementioned guarantee is based on the fat that they are awesome
  • bought a case, thanks very much!

  • Just bought a case, thanks ozrex!

  • on the confirmation letter, it states "Delivery time frame is 10-14 Business Days once payment is received and cleared."

maybe post form USA warehouse via USPS priority mail ?~ LOL

    • Lol, I noticed that to. Internally within Australia, it wouldn't take that long; unless they were using the slowest postal/courier service there is!

      • What Auspost? :)

  • Seems like a good deal - One of each for me :)

  • nice, thanks for the post. 1 x Dock and 2 x Cases for me :)

  • I just ordered a couple of touchstones from BnHPhoto. They are still in transit. US$40 each, but shipping brought the total over $50 each. Oh well.

Got a couple of cases and keyboards though.

    Thanks.

  • Just bought a case to replace my cheapo $11 brandless case bought from eBay. Let's hope this one lasts longer.

    • It will, these cases are awesome. Very slimline and keep the total size of the unit small.
only adds a couple of mm to the TP size..
Compared to the cheapies on ebay…. Well.. there is no comparison! These are also well worth the $$

  • I ordered the case on the 30th for $15. (And yes, it's replacing a cheapo case that my wife made me get).

Delivery is tomorrow. By the way, they use a courier company that'll call you and tell you which half of the day someone needs to be home:(.

Charger's pretty but a waste of money, while the screen keyboard is very good for my purposes (and better than my Galaxy Tab P100).

    • Yeah that is heaps good. Free delivery, plus on the website, where you can track your order, it saying tomorrow and I ordered one today!

    • Do you know which courier company they use…TNT?

      • No, it was Starlight Express (or Startrack Express, probably the more boring choice of the two).

  • Awesome! was just looking for a case :)

I just got the wireless keyboard. I don't really need it…damn impulse buy!

    • I did not succumb. I just hop from one website to another, adding favorites as I go, with minimal keying. Would be nice to get a Siri type app for voice to text for emails though? :)

    • you won't be sorry :)
Thats how we got our keyboard.. and we r happy to have it.
It also doubles as the HTPC keyboard - It's nice and small + solid!

  • So tempted to get the charger.. but I dont need it! Blah

SAVE15HP-Coupon Code Until 30 OCT in US was working anyone know of any coupon code ?
    eCoupon code is not valid.

The case is a good price but the TouchStone and keyboard are each US$10 cheaper at Amazon. A combined order of keyboard and TouchStone from Amazon is US$78.72 including US$10 shipping (around A$76).

    • I don't know if that is an exact swap as the Australian sold one may have an Australian charger. My current TouchStone has a US charger and the 'free' adaptor I got was useless, so I bent the plugs. The Australian one which came with my TouchPad is much nicer.

      • The Touchstone i got from Amazon had 3 plugs for the universal power adapter. (US, AU, GB)
I thought it looked like it was the same package that they ship world wide..? (But maybe not from what Domingo said)

        • Nah, mine only had the US plug. The adapter definitely allows for other ones to be used, but they weren't included.

  • Can anyone confirm if the keyboard works with the Android port (Alpha 2.1)?

  • damn, the 14 days shipping is too long…

    • I got all mine today.. all came in separate boxes?? doesn't seem too cost effective, but dont care cause it was free shipping! :))

    • Shipping took 4 days… well 3.5 as I ordered it late in the day… not exactly express (Amazon got me a lawnmower all the way from the UK in the same time) but not bad.

  • My Case was sent out today (11/11), ordered on 07/11/2011.
I can confirm that this is shipping from Australia (Sydney), and they use Star Track Express.

    Should receive it on Monday.

    • Did you received the email of shippment? as i am still waiting. thanks for your infor.

      • I checked online status, it has been shipped out. Not sure why i haven't received it yet though, it is in the Melbourne Depot (where i live).
The stauts on the website now is:
Delivery Appointment scheduled - Customer requested future delivery

LOL WTF, i didn't get a call from them….. so dont know when they scheduled the delivery…..

        • same here mate, It was signed into the delivery port twice today, (here in melbourne).
Just hope I'm getting my order tomorrow

  • {Rant warning!!!}

So I ordered the Touchpad accessories from HP directly, sent to my home address, thinking buying local would be faster and easier, right?
HP shipped the items with Startrack Express couriers.

Startrack rang me to confirm they will try and deliver tomorrow between 8.30 and 5. I said I should be home until about 9.30 if they can make sure it's on their early part of their run. They said they can't give me an exact time. So I should just stay home all day? Fine, I'll just leave a permission to leave slip then. Nope, can't do that they say. HP won't let them. OK, whatever, I'll go to the depot and pick it up, thus completely defeating the purpose of 'delivery', but whatever, I just want my touchstone and case. Nu-uh, again they say HP says "No". OK, fine, I'll give a new address to ship to. Wait, what? That's right out.

So I call HP and tell them the lame things Startrack are claiming HP won't let them do. The guy confirms that they're telling the truth. HP won't let them do anything useful at all.

So I ask HP to redirect it. No, not even HP can authorise that.

What HP CAN do is cancel the order, get it sent back to them, give me a full refund, place a NEW order with a different shipping address (my work address), and have THAT sent out.

    Genius!

I can't imagine why HP are having trouble in the consumer market….

    • I ordered a case, originally set my address to my postal box, thinking it'll be a plain package, plus it didn't say anything about no PO boxes. Star Trek rang me up to ask for a new delivery address, I said to just deliver it to my work address, and they did, got it today. Although they did have to confirm with HP first to do it.

  • Ordered the touchstone on Monday (12th) and received it today. So they are available if anyone is still interested.
