  • Seems like a good deal.

  • wow that's a good deal, I thought I did well when they sold for $25 USD / $36 AUD same bundle

    eek!

    • There was a $30AUD/year deal recently, it comes around once or twice a year. That's the one to be on.

  • Oof, my Newsgroup Ninja just autorenewed for $55.

  • They're a good provider too. I was with them for years until a better price elsewhere earlier this yr. I would've stayed at this price :)

  • Noob here, anymore info on what this service is?

        First rule of Fight Club…

I'm far from a boomer and I use it (I'm gen z lol)

I find it much more reliable, and faster, than bittorrent

    • if you have to ask it's probably not for you.
It's an old early days internet technology that's now mostly used for piracy. Similar to torrents but allegedly harder to track, and you don't have to seed the stuff you download

  • You'd think, that - after all this time + a new noob-gen. is here -
there'd be a book, YT vid, etc. to refer noob's to…

OzB should have a place for such Self-Help References, ie,
so the only response to "So, what is / how do we use this?"
would be ~See OzB Ref.Lib.3942 or YT …, or the like.

I mean… If you can't be (profanity) Googling 'Usenet', you're probably not the sort of person that would be using this.

This isn't really something they're trying to spoonfeed to everyone under the sun - it's a bit of a 'if you know, you know' type thing. Hence the 'first rule of fight club' references.

Call it wanky, but too much attention gets good things ruined.

  • Any current users here? I have quite a lot of data from blocks with a highwinds reseller. Can't see who these guys are reselling. But no point if it's the same back end.

Seem they try to portray as European but they are in US too. DCMA compliant.

Price seems like a good deal, but depending on these questions may be a waste of money for me.

    Happy for any feedback.

      Newsdemon is an Omicron/Highwinds reseller.

  • How do I use this with the referrer, so someone else benefits too? When I try, it just goes to a main page. Can see from the URL of the actual deal that there are some reddit discount codes or something.

Maybe I’m just tired, but I’m not sure it someone missed out on the referral if I go via the deal link to buy! :)

  • Getting a fair few failures on Newsdemon. Eweka is filling in those gaps.
