GeForce RTX 3080 Video Card, 3 Models - All $1,699 - BudgetPC

1323

The have for sale right now:

Exciting that they're coming out and starting to be for sale, very disappointing this is so far above the Founders Edition.

I expect to be downvoted sorry, because if anything this the exact opposite of a bargain - but stock ahead of schedule is still exciting and maybe some people out there are willing to spend this much to secure a card?

UPDATE: Listings have now been taken down, so clearly an accident. Let's hope that this was placeholder pricing until the real deals are released.

Definitely not a bargain, belongs in the forums

    • +1

Just saying, there is no RRP for any of those cards. Don't think it's a good deal, but doesn't mean it should go to the forums.

  • +9

Yeah, Nah…. Not for that price.

  • +9

1699… they should be ashamed of themselves

  • trio is same to ventus ???

    • +1

About as insensible as the deal is.

  • +13

    Nah waiting for 4000 series..

  • +1

They definitely rises the price due to high demand. Like what they have done to 20 series during lock down.

  • +7

Excuse my French but what the (profanity)

RRP for the 3080 is supposed to be $1139 AU, none of these cards are high end versions. Absolute rip.

    • -1

      It's clearly a placeholder…

  • +4

    Jack, is that you?

  • Guess i'm gonna go for a FE then since all AIB are absolute (profanity).

    • +3

      Good luck getting one

      • +1

The tiniest percentage of people have top tier cards according to the Steam hardware survey. No need for any FOMO, and for those who may get one, should be easy enough, and at an actually worthwhile amount from Amazon later on.

  • +4

I know we're all excited for the new RTX30 series but this 50% above FE version is unacceptable

  • +1

Jesus christ, that's getting close to the 3090 FE price in America…

    • -3

      are you okay?

  • +1

    Has to be BS.
    - No way the top tier MSI card is the same price.
    - All pricing is higher than expected.
    - Gigabyte card still has TBD as core clock

    Order at your own risk

    • Not higher than expected at all. Mwave is selling a one time drop of a couple hundred founders editions (if we’re lucky), that’s the only way you’ll get close to MSRP. Partners have no reason to price their cards at MSRP.

  • +1

so glad i still have my 2080ti — and im not hunting for these cards… haha

  • What the hell is this

    What an ironic website name

LOL where is everyone who was downvoting 20XX deals now? ‘Oh yeah the 3080 will be $800’

    • +1

Who the hell ever said 3080 would be $800? You're confusing your GPUs mate. That's the 3070 due for release later in the month.

There is some argument to be had about whether 3070 is better or 2080TI (memory, bus width, …) but 3080 straight up shits on 2080TI. There is absolutely no discussion there. Leagues and bounds ahead

      • -1

You obviously haven’t been following any deals for Turing deals lately.

From an msi 2070 super post:

For around A$100 more than this the RTX 3080 which releases in about a week is widely expected to outperform the 2080 Super by about 65%. For $200 less than the latest discounted price for 2080 Ti it will outperform that card by about 40%. Suggest if you wait for the new cards the price on the 2000 series cards will crash down really soon, or for the same money as a 2000 series now you will get a much higher performing card if you buy the 3000 series…

Lets come back to this comment in a week and see how many Australians get a 3080 for the advertised RRP.

      • +1

HAHA! You were one of them!

People on this site are just plain dumb smh

When a brand new card with better PCB, better support, better design, better literally everything is gonna be available at ~$800 …. what kind of a stupid idiot would buy this card for $750? And I'm the one getting downvoted

        • +1

Are you sure you're alright mate? What does my comment have anything to do with some idiot saying 3080 is gonna be $800. Get a grip.

3070 still benchmarks (from what we know) higher than 2080ti and most games don't touch anything close to 8GB of memory. Plus 3070 is a 2nd Gen card with obviously better design and shaders. And the FE will cost $800. Are you still following? So taking all that into account, $750 would have been a fair price for a 2080 TI at around $50 below 3070.

          • -1

@er1992: Haha mate if anyone’s not right it’s you. Your commenting about how 30xx series is going to blow Turing out of the water. Clearly a nvidia simp who got caught up with the reveal.

            • -1

@tkotk: What is this guy talking about? Send help

              • @er1992: Yeah, I've given up arguing with this guy. Looks to have been a troll all along

              • @er1992: Lol you two buddying up is cute. Enjoy your new cards gents!

    • That was the 3070. Expectations for 3080 were around $1139

      • -3

No. No the comments were not.

        • Well they either miscommunicated their point or thought the 3080s RRP was ~$800.
Most people would be expecting around Nvidia's RRP, $800 for 3070 and $1150 for 3080

          • @FireRunner: I’ve seen you commenting on deals too. Clearly your optimism was unfounded.

            Edit - case in point from several days ago;

$500 USD = $1000 AUD? Even with AUS tax I doubt that will be that bad

            • +2

@tkotk: That's the 3070 I'm talking about there which has a RRP of $500 USD
We're still in the early stages, this 'deal' was yanked so actual prices are yet to be seen. I doubt all the versions of the card are going to cost the same.

              • +1

@FireRunner: The comment was you also arguing with someone else about how prices couldn’t be jacked up that high. Between the budgetpc reveal and the centrecomm leak it appears that yes, the price jacking has occurred like many had expected.

  • +6

Nvidia, all the good will you have created is just a lie.
artifical shortages, WAY above RRP and now mwave doing their "raffle" i.e allocate to your mates and then sell on ebay.
wait for amd people, Nvidia SHOULD be burnt this time around

    • -1

I am not liking the leaks and rumours, to be honest. I was hoping Big Navi is gonna be a happy medium between 3080 and 3090 but it might actually be between 3070 and 3080. I just really hope that's not the case.

  • Scummy AIBs and scummier 3rd part sellers

  • not surprise. Demand and hype is high and seller will have to take their chances. There will be those who willing to buy at these price tags, no matter how much.

  • Oh screw these guys.

  • +1

    helllllll naaaahhh

  • +2

Too expensive to be listed as a bargain.

  • +3

Errm, RRP is 1139 for the Founders Edition and these are definitely not worth the premium.

    • Yeah but it's likely that the only place you'll be able to get one is eBay and at grossly inflated prices

  • I would upvote if eta was within the next week as I believe stock is going to be hard to come by but this is a month away and crazy price.

    • +1

Then you're upvoting scalping. Even if your GPU is dying, at this price I think you're better off going with a placeholder GPU (RX580?) until prices normalize.

Hopefully this is just placeholder pricing (or a shop trying their luck…) and we can all enjoy RTX 30s at decent prices soon.

    What a joke

The page you requested was not found, and we have a fine guess why."

    Suddenly a $999 2080 ti isn't looking so bad :P

  • lol what a rip.

  • +1

Also selling Hand Sanitiser at inflated prices. Not to be trusted, Won't even abide by embargoes.

  • Almost a 50% markup over the founders edition. Insane

  • Aaaaaand suddenly all the listings are now 404 errors. XD

  • hate this shop immediately

  • +1

    Bunch of scalpers.

  • +1

Damn, now that is one greedy price inflation. Going to black list this company. GG

  • +2

    "Budget" PC.. Lol

  • The price is down to $1469, but the eta is for 2024, so the price might be a bit high by then.
