  • Great game!

FYI, if you want to play this game on PS5, a 'remastered' version is coming out, so you may want that instead.

    • Thanks, almost bought it not knowing that (and don't have a PS4, would have only been playing on the PS5 once we have it)

    • what is it adding? better textures? or actual content? i doubt its gonna be worth $60+ more

"The remaster for the PS5 is no simple up-res, as many of the game’s art assets have been completely updated to take advantage of the PS5 console’s horsepower. You’ll see better-looking characters with improved skin, eyes, hair, and facial animation (including our new, next-generation Peter Parker). You’ll also see ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows, improved lighting, more pedestrians and vehicles stretching further into the distance, and the same optional performance mode offered on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, allowing you to finally play the game at a targeted 60fps frame rate. We’ll be supporting near-instant loading, 3D audio, and the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback. Lastly we’re adding three amazing new Spider-Man suits, new photo mode features, and even new trophies for those of you looking to Platinum the game all over again."

      • I don't know if they've announced the pricing to buy it standalone, but it'll be part of the Ultimate Edition of the Miles Morales game for $20-30 more than the base game, and I'm pretty sure that version will have all the DLC too. So if you're gonna get Miles Morales anyway, the price of upgrading seems well worth it.

        • Your first play through is priceless, may as well play on the best version if you have access to the right hardware.

        • Hopefully Amazon will have the ultimate edition. Regular is $79 on Amazon but a ultimate is $125 at EB and JB. Not sure I want to pay $46 more for a game I’ve already completed.

      • new suits hooray

    • Maybe they'll finally add back that puddle they removed!

  • This or the GOTY version?

  • I ordered it last Thursday from Amazon for $34.34 and it got delivered the next day. Any chance I can get the additional price I paid back from Amazon?

    • Try asking on Live Chat.

If all else fails, just return it and repurchase.

      • Thanks. Spoke with customer service. They issued me with Amazon credit :)

        • Always had good customer service with Amazon. They are quite accomodating. Even if it's $1 difference from the time you ordered it, they'd give you $2.

  • This is an exceptional game. One of my favourites in recent years.

  • Really liked this game and the gameplay experience. Any other games as good as this mechanic to recommend?

    • The Batman Arkham games are very similar in terms of combat mechanics and practically set the standard for this genre. I recommend trying them all.

    • I honestly didn't quite like this game (I've played the first 2 Arkham games on PC and loved those). The traversal mechanics (which have garnered the most praise) didn't work too well for me. Maybe I'm not doing it right, but I can't maintain a fluid movement while web-slinging, and keep running into buildings. Also, the music is pretty average and it's kind of annoying when that dramatic background music starts playing every time I'm web-slinging.

  • I enjoyed this game immensely. I'd argue it's been the definitive portrayal of Spider-man this century outside of the the comic medium (ie: Games and Movies)

    • Nah, Spiderman on original xbox was the ground work as far as this played out. Same game, different graphics.

  • Cheap but will likely be on PS Plus soon to hype the new game.

    • Unlikely due to the new PS5 Miles Morales Ultimate edition that includes remastered version they would want to sell.

  • So I'm not really a fan Spiderman, always enjoyed the movies though corny but love Insomniac for the Ratchet series. I went into this thinking it'll just be a decent weekend game.

Boy, this game is so good! The story and characters are better than the movies! They do some really cool story stuff with a long standing enemy that just gripped me the whole way through. The web swinging is amazingly fun.
The gameplay is a very fun beat 'em up with lots of different fighting/web moves and suit powers.

I 100%'d it and going through the DLC now, I can't wait for the remaster, especially given the saves don't transfer, but I'm also just too hooked to wait!
But I will be getting Miles Morales standalone for PS5.

  • Might as well get ps plus to get the other games too. CDkeys have good price on plus subs often.
