Hi guys, first time to post here.
Lowest price according to 3camels. $399 @ officeworks and $469 @ Binglee.

It supports USB 3.2 GEN2x2 with write and read speeds of up to 2000MB/s so it's 2x faster than Samsung T7. I think it's better than previous $199 Samsung T7 deal if your computer supports USB 3.2 gen2x2.

Tried to price beat at OW at Glebe sydney, but was told OOS everywhere in Sydney (maybe try 1300 in other cities). So bought one from Amazon directly.

According to reddit, p50 has sn750 inside, which worths $200+.

you should add the OW PB in the title, makes it quite enticing

      • Added. Thanks.

  • Which laptops have USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 ports?

    • My PC with X299 board supports.

Would people order this drive for new PS5 or new Xbox as the internal storage is only 1TB on these gaming consoles and with the size of games recently that will fill up pretty quick.

    • Just looked it up and seems they both only have USB 3.1 so won’t be able to handle these max speeds. I’ve heard it may be that on PlayStation you can only install PS4 or lower games on an external HDD. May be the same for Xbox? Certainly the quick resume feature on series x/s would be hampered by this.

Does anyone know whether Thunderbolt 3 supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2… in theory TB3 should be able to handle it the speed, but can't seem to find info about it. (TB3 supports 40gb/s, USB 3.2 2x2 is 20gb/s, however USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 came out after TB3 came out, so not sure if there would be some compatibility issues/whether a firmware update would enable it if it doesn't work already).

  • This looked good until i saw this..

::edit:: Watching more of the video this thing looks like a guaranteed disaster in 2x2 mode.
Same repeated failures using 2 different test drives on multiple platforms / environments.

If anyone has ordered this it might be worth cancelling.

Watch the video in full before negging me for a neg.

    • Thanks for pointing out. Watched the entire video. Maybe have to wait for the coming USB 4 to fix this issue.

      • I can't believe this can be left out for sale by WD.

There are not minor issues, and appear as if they will effect anyone trying to use x2 mode, which almost defeats the purpose of the drive.

  • The 2TB one is also now available for $399.00

    • This seems a great price for a 2TB drive like this. The above video aside, I feel like this is a good price even for a max 10gbps speed.
