Electric Standing Desk

I want to buy an electric standing desk and was wondering if anyone knows of any well priced desks + experiences?

So far officeworks seems the best priced!

  • I ended up opting for the crank handle one from IKEA. Bought it secondhand for $140. Not that it helps much, but I heard a lot of people having issues with the motors in the electric desks (unless you spend quite a lot of $$).

If you're set on an electric desk, I guess just make sure the motors have good warranty or something. Can be a lot to pay if they fail early on.

  • I've got ikea idasen with a ekbacken worktop instead of the idasen top. Very happy with the combo. Stable, no rocking good build quality

    • What made you choose the Ekbacken over say the Saljan?

Was it a matter of colour or thickness? Did you go for the 104cm deep Ekbacken?

I'm currently figuring out which countertop to combine with the Idasen. Tbh if you have any pictures handy that would be superb.

  • I've been ordering from updowndesk for the office, so far so good, you can use your own table top too, to save the cost.

Out of 5 units we have, 1 has a dud electronic (previous model than the one currently displayed on their website), the exhange process a bit tricky as I need to video the issue, but after that is sorted, so far so good

  • I've got 1500mm wide electric one (previous version) from Office Works. As a desk it is very sturdy and but in terms of stand up use its just a bit too low for me. I'm 185cm tall and find that its just not quite high enough at its maximum, so for now I mostly use it sitting down until I get around to propping the legs up a bit.

    • Im a lot shorter than you haha

  • Zen space desk after the $100 newsletter sign up discount is $449
    They have good reviews.
I am also looking for a standing desk, Max width 120cm.
