This seems like extremely good value for both camera and solar panel. Am I missing something here?

I'm with you there. Anyone have a review they could share?

Using one for a month or so, paid $125 approx

        Below model I bought

        https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/B07GBRV8W5/ref=ya_aw_od_pi…

Happy with quality for the price paid, cloud subrs for one camera is free but seems you have to subscribe each month instead they let you remain enrolled for ever.

Using for front door entrance, kept sensitivity medium, as person approaches toward, camera won't record straight away, so you will miss the first 5-10 seconds of the clip.

Bought one of these cameras recently. The initial delay in recording start is a very big issue.

Each morning I reverse car from garage and drive away, the camera would miss most of the action. The 15 second clip will have 1-2 seconds showing my car and rest just an empty driveway after I have left!

My 5 year old D-Link had option to wind back few seconds and send pictures which now feels like a superior option. I bought Reolink to replace the D-Link, however now it looks like Reolink may be going back! It is otherwise a great camera. Missing the initial action is a big flaw.

The cloud recording seems to have ceased from around 10:30PM last night! I can see the camera from office through my phone, however nothing is getting recorded! Sensitivity is at 90%.

EDIT 12:27PM: I increased sensitivity to 100% and managed to get 1 clip to upload to cloud. I also deleted the camera binding and added it again. Will see how it goes over the weekend!

@VluHunt8r: Camera is working again, however even with sensitivity at 100% the motion detection distance seems to be too short.

Test 1: I asked my son to walk in from street, about 25 metres. The camera detected movement and recorded only the last 2 meters even though it could see the entire 25 metres. Our camera is mounted 4m from ground, which means it is not possible to see his face.

Test 2: I asked my son to run from our door to the street (opposite direction to Test 1), about 25 metres again. The camera captured the entire action, however from behind the person! Again not much use other than knowing some one was on the driveway!

Solar panel seems to keep camera fully charged even though we had a cloudy and rainy day today with intermittent sunshine. Camera battery was at 97% at 10AM and 100% soon after, that's pretty good. When I checked yesterday night the battery was in low 80s.

    • Just don't forget to redeem code when you place an order🤣

I have Argus 2 + Solar, I would say it's quite good for the price but there are 2 weaknesses: 2.4Ghz only and always on power saving mode. It's 2.4Ghz so it's connecting and streaming noticeably slower than my E1 Pro on 5Ghz. It's a battery camera so it's always run in power saving and you can't stream continuously for long as it will automatically switch off the stream, even if the solar panel keeps it at 99% all the time.

    • It’s good price but could be better. It’d be good if this is Argus 2

      • Well, Argus2 with solar panel currently has 20% off with code QKV32MCY.

        • And with that it is just a Ok price.

  • Cloud recording 8s per file - Is this free? or part of some plan?

    • Hi. It's a 7-day free cloud video history up to 1GB of cloud storage with 1 camera supported. And if you need an upgraded plan, here are the details: https://cloud.reolink.com/

      • thanks …and can I ask where your cloud servers are located ?

        • Hi. The data center is located in Sydney, and control center located in the US.

  • OP does this support RTSP?

    • No, I am afraid not.

  • Can this record to sd card only and not cloud?

    • Yes, of course.

      • Thank you :)

  • Great Deal!

  • what's the difference between Uniden and Reolink? it's identical, even the subscription model. solo+ I mean.

  • Any Reolink that are Wifi and Rechargable?

    • Umm… This one.

      See OP up top…
Power: Chargeable battery 5200mAh / Solar Panel
      Network: 2.4GHz/ IEEE 802.11b/g/n

      • Without a Solar Panel….

        • Hi. This one is with solar panel. Please click the deal link and check.

        • +1

Oh, if you are asking for camera only.
          You may check Argus 2.

        • Sorry for the slow reply…

If you don't want to use the solar panel it has a standard microUSB on the back to charge. So you can charge it from a wall if you wish (any USB charger will work). The solar panel plugs into this micro USB too.

If the camera isn't "seeing" too much or doing too much streaming of the live feed action I think you'd be likely to get a week of use off the 5200mAh battery.

Like the OP says below, you can buy the Argus 2 without the solar panel, but I don't know why you would as the conveniance of not having to take a camera down to charge is awesome.

          • @nitens: Thanks for the response,

It's because of the governance in my area can't have visible solar panels like this,
So seeking a battery powered solution if possible before having to think about a poe system.

If this is only a weeks charge though wouldn't be too keen on it then

  • whats the difference between argus pro and argus 2 ?

    • +1

Argus 2 is embedded with Starlight 1080P sensor while Argus Pro comes with a normal 1080P sensor.

Argus 2 supports both outdoor security mount and wall magnetic mount, while Argus Pro only supports outdoor security mount .

Compared with normal sensors, the Starlight ones enable your cameras to show colorful images even at night as long as there is enough lighting to make it work in color mode.
