Grabbed this from last deal, shipped from CN WH.. US$116 with code iirc. Arrived couple days ago but i haven't checked it out just yet..

    • +3

Can you check the Widevine level please? Can check via Netflix app.

      • +2

        It's L3

        • +1

What's your source? The comments on the item listing say widevine L1 and some say SD only on Netflix. Not sure which are correct?

          • +1

@C-Nut: That would be amazing news. I've ordered the pro version with 6GB of memory and I almost didn't because of this reason.

As soon as I have my device I'll check, but yes if someone else can confirm I would be appreciative.

It may have something to do with the four OTA updates already released, when we weren't expecting any (see comment below).

            • +2

@b2dz: I have the same one with 4Gb Ram and can confirm it is L3.

Been using it for more than a month. Very good value for the price. definitely recommend it. Go for 6Gb if you have some extra $$$ but tbh 4Gb is enough for day to day activities. I watched nearly 3 movies at full brightness and still had 25% battery left.

My only recommendation is to purchase the cover as well if you purchasing this.

              • +5
                • @smmoove: Do you know which USB-C that is? Version 2 or version 3?

              • +1

@usmanyousaf: Do you have the link to the cover?

              • @usmanyousaf: What service did you use to watch the movies, or was it just downloaded? If you used a streaming service I wouldn't be surprised as it's SD, so very low compute/battery required to decode the stream.

Edit: C-Nut mentioned there were comments on the listing that alluded it may have L1. I had a read through and saw this comment

No it has no widevine L1

I did a double take of this as well so maybe that's where the confusion is from.

                • @b2dz: I have been using Youtube, Amazon Prime, Netflix & plex since I purchased this to watch movies & videos

              • @usmanyousaf: Hi, I am about to pull the trigger for that tab to use it with my dji mavic mini drone, is it possible if you can confirm that "dji fly" app in appstore is compatible with that tab please? Thanks

                • @Fvistr0: It has the default android app store afaik 🙂

                  • @b2dz: Yeah but the app DJI FLY app in that playstore is compatible with that tab? I have got Ipad mini2nd gen, Nvidia tab K1 and samsung12inch tab and none of those tablets are compatible with that app.

                    • +1

                      @Fvistr0: It's compatible
I downloaded and opened and seemed to work fine

                • +1

@Fvistr0: Yes, As confirmed by other users as well, I downloaded and opened the app. the app works as normal.

              • @usmanyousaf: Does yours have the YouTube skip issue like mine? https://drive.google.com/file/d/11cvUpIrsUs80CdM0bqspm9H8v2f…
Basically the next skipped video plays in max 144p but selecting a video manually plays in full resolution.

            • @b2dz: I ordered the Pro as well - almost a momth ago, im worrying that it will take 3 momths to arrive though.

              Either good news about wildvine.

              • @Franc-T: Ordered mine on the 6th of this month. No movement. If no progress in the order by next week. I'm reporting to paypal.

              • @Franc-T: Still hasnt arrived :(

                • @Franc-T: My order just changed to shipped from processing today. I guess more waiting game though.

                  • @xoom: Tell me about it. I have a whole bunch of stuff that ordered at the same time, I received one on Saturday so mabye they are starting to filter thorugh.

              • @Franc-T: Just FYI mine is at last mile carrier as of two days ago (only updated yesterday). From what I have seen in the past thats another week(ish)

                • +1

@Franc-T: So my 2 alldocube iplay 20 pro just arrived. Haven't opened them up yet as I'm busy working. Will post later if any issues.

                  • @xoom: Mine arrived today. Cover is worse than laughable, I really need to get a nice leather/leatherette replacement and the packaging was really indicative of the cheap price but the tablet itself is really nice on initial impressions.

                    • @Franc-T: The only issue I have is youtube playback. If you skip it goes into the lowest res and you cannot change it. Reported by others also. Hoping this can be fixed with an update.

                    • @Franc-T: Which cover did you get? These are the ones I found, Banggood one is decent.

                      • @bamzero: The one I got was part of the deal 'leather case' - it very much wasnt leather but very crappy plastic

I wanted a better one immediately, so I just used amazon guaranteed two day delivery of the best looking / suitable one = it arrived already (!) and its not bad. Annoying i couldnt find one that also had keyboard space but you cant have everything.

                        https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B078YKM31Z/ref=ppx_yo_d…

                        • +1

@Franc-T: That case from Amazon dont look too bad. Might get one.

                          • @xoom: Its not, but one of the straps blocks a button - its not a huge issue, but you would have that issue with most aftermarket cases anyway.

          • @C-Nut: SD only on netflix watch the review below

          • @C-Nut: I have one

        • +1

Thanks guys/gals for clearing it up

      • +4

Hi im really interested in this tablet.
Could you please clarify what is widevine for and what L number should we be looking for?

Also from the video review the guy said we can't watch HD from Netflix why is that?

      • +3

Sorry newb question, why does one care what widevine level it is?

        • +2

L1 gives you the highest video HD/4k from netflix, Amazon, youtube etc

The OEM will probably have to pay Google royalty for it…

Otherwise you get the lower L2/L3 security settings

          • @[Deactivated]: So does that mean you can't watch Netflix in HD?

            • @[Deactivated]: That's correct, SD quality only. Nothing can rectify it.

              • @[Deactivated]: Does this apply to YouTube as well? What other restrictions does it have? Anyways, thanks for letting me know saved me nearly $200

                • +2

@[Deactivated]: No, YouTube HD allegedly runs fine as it doesn't mandate widevine L1.

Not sure why Nimbin was negged, it's true for Netflix and Prime, and anything else that forces Widevine L1 for HD content.

            • @[Deactivated]: of course you can, just download it.

              • @9hundred: Netflix and Prime requires Widevine L1 for both streaming and downloaded content.

          • @[Deactivated]: Actually their is no licencing fee or loyalties for widevine. They just need to meet certification and for cheap tablets they don't bother. It's no extra cost, just extra work

            • @DoesntEvenMatter: Which equals cost but yes you are correct..

            • @DoesntEvenMatter: Doesn't it also have to do with security of the device in terms of playing back protected content? (Possibly the ease of copying/saving protected content)?

              • @C-Nut: Yep it's a DRM but it's like a open license if you meet some certification, there is no ongoing royalties or fees to get a L1. L3 is obtained with just application

                • @DoesntEvenMatter: I think the device may require a TPM-like hardware module as well.

    • Was that $USD 116 total or did they add shipping and insurance and gst?

Whats the difference bw pro and non-pro? Just the extra ram & storage?

      • +1

        Yes.
Non pro is 64gb and 4gb
        Pro is 128gb and 6gb.

  • +4

Are there any good 7inch tablets from any manufacturer?

    • +5

Funny you say that, I have the Alldocube iplay 7T and that's about the best 7 inch tablet I found. It has 1280Ă—800 IPS screen, 4G, 2gb RAM and Android 9. Sadly no more updates. But if you want consistent updates at 7 inch, Amazon Fire 7 inch is the best you can do.

      • The Alldocube iplay 7T would be good if it had more than 16GB rom, it has an SD slot but I don't think you can make the SD card the primary storage in android 9

Pocco X3? Just a little bit under 7" but pretty close

Might as well get an ipad mini at that price.

      • The Poco X3 would work ok but is more than I want to spend on it

    • +1

No. They all have low res screens and shit processors based on my research. Samsung Tab A is about the best compromise that isn't a no name brand. Can get them for $200 on sale.

      • Thanks for suggestion I'll look into it

  • +3

I just watched this review yesterday. It seems like a good budget tablet. He only complains the font, back rear cameras and the GPS. Band 28 is a plus and can make calls!

What kind of sociopath uses a tablet to take photos?

      • +4

I use my tablet for work, I use the camera to log defect works through aconnex and it easier then taking a photo with my work phone then synch with laptop.

    • I have taken 1 or 2 pictures since i purchased it last month only to see the camera quality. never used Tab for taking pictures plus they are not great.

  • +1

    Bought this last deal!

The reviews online are accurate and I'm quite happy!

    • Hi, I am about to pull the trigger for that tab to use it with my dji mavic mini drone, is it possible if you can check that dji fly app is compatible with that tab please? Thanks

        check it yourself lazy arse

Would buy Pro version but I believe that would be difficult atm as it's still pre-order pre release.

      • I'm using the Pro now. From CN warehouse.

        iplay30 just released

        • not true!

        • priced at rmb $849/ usd $125/ aud $175, not bad!

        • Is there anyway I can order this now, or do I need a Chinese phone number/account?

          • @Hacheoy: clicked the purchase link on the top right corner and it's saying limited to 100 orders for testing only according to the website, so it's not yet ready for sale, let's wait for a few more months

            • @Beancurd: iplay 30 first 100 orders already expired and sent out,so if you making order start now, they will sent out after Chinese National day

              • @Dennis95: the Eng page doesn't have a buy button, the buy button on the Chinese official page does not give me a option to buy. I can't find it anywhere online to buy too.
                https://www.alldocube.com/en/

                • @Beancurd: the chinese website has ordering button,
                  the ordering link:
                  https://shop46194573.m.youzan.com/wscgoods/detail/2oswemaaw5…

                  • @Dennis95: yes, the red “Snap up now” button on the bottom of the page didn't work. Might give it another try later. Not sure it will ship overseas though.

                    • @Beancurd: you need to use agent transfer company to post to Australia

                      • @Dennis95: Freight Forwarder? not before I can secure one and I properly have to spend the price of the tablet to ship it over here. I better wait a bit longer until they're available on normal channels

                        • +1

@Beancurd: lol. I’m Chinese so I know many shipment agent companies. I use to pay $15/kg for post to Australia by air and $2/kg by sea

  • Is Banggood even legit?

Without the code: Total: AU$195.44 inc shipping

    With the code: Total: AU$202.68

    • +1

Yea, they are legit. Not sure whats wrong with the code though, I haven't tried it.

    • +2

AU$202.68 is the price without discount. Look further down.

Also, you need to deselect shipping insurance again.
