Hey OP, just remember to put the store in the title

  • +4

upvoted but guys PRO is on the way

    • +6

      Still a rumour.

      • +2

        yeah nothing confirmed yet.

they have been saying a Pro has been on the way for a while now.

        • +1

nintendo said during a private confrence that there will be a new switch model but they also said its coming in 20XX (basically sometime this decade )

        • +2

Yep, there's been rumours since the switch launched in 2017, nothing happened yet. Don't get me wrong, I think we will get a more powerful one at some point, either as a mid gen upgrade, or a new-gen, but not until 2022 I think.

          • @jeffo: probs mid gen

            • +1

@matsoo: Yeah that's what I think, I think it'll be kinda like the xbox one s to the original one, slightly faster and a few other upgrades. Maybe a 1080p handheld screen.

    • +3

true ozbargainers wait for the Pro so the price of the normal Switch goes down

    • There is no such thing

    • Will likely have better resell value than the normal version though.

    • End of March for announcement.

    • +1

I predict a regular, non portable console, where you buy joy cons that don't connect to the unit itself and it's upscales to 4k.

      More like a Switch v1.5

      • thats a possibility. I hope this becomes a reality!

  • +8

The most not-limited limited edition console that has sold like it's a limited edition.

    • +5

It says special edition not limited edition once I clicked the link?

      • A lot of people tend to mix the two words together (in this context).

      • Arguably it's also a fairly non-special special edition, not even coming with the game it's based on

        • -3

This is close to false advertising IMHO.

          • +1

@ozoner: Well i definitely assumed it would have come with the game pre-installed

    • -7

yeh next shipment won't sell out you'll soon see below RRP judging by recent demand

      I wouldn't bother

    • The problem is, Nintendo limit many things that are not officially limited. Leaving no stock in stores when people want them. I bought it knowing that I can sell it at my cost price on ebay if I need to for any reason (eg the next switch upgrade actually happens next year). Otherwise im gonna keep it so I can hack my original switch since I bought it before they fixed the chips to stop hacking

  • +7

Thanks for the post, it annoys me that they ship this Animal Crossing edition Switch without the game.

    • -5

Why? Does it annoy you it doesn't ship with a winning lotto ticket too?
Where does it says it comes with a game?

      • +1

Wow, yeah because that's the same, smh.

It would make sense to ship it with the game - surely there is no need to explain why, but maybe there is?

If you read my comment, I haven't made any mention that it says it includes a game but actually doesn't, only that it annoys me that it doesn't.

  • +7

Just remember. Special edition NOT limited edition. Unlimited supply.

    • +1

I'd call it the flooded edition .

      • Lol@scalpers still trying to sell above RRP on ebay

      • more like scalpers edition lol

    • +1

I mean good on em. Idiots who pay scalpers prices deserve what they get. Plenty to go around if your a fan of the colour scheme vs those who want the exclusive status.

      • I wouldnt call them idiots.

there are people who have better things to do than waste time trying to get in and get a limited edition.

If they spend their time making way more money than waiting around to buy something i dont see an issue with that.

If they have money to burn so be it.

        • +1

its a feedback loop that creates scalping and limited supply due to hype. spending over RRP on cosmetics is idiotic.

      • I also wonder if other countries are releasing this edition as much as in Australia. I have a feeling in America it's a lot harder to purchase.

        • +1

nope its supply meeting demand, was cheaper overseas

          • @abuch47: in the USA anything "limited or special edition" gets sold out very quickly.

Even the Mario 3D all stars is sold out but its in abundance in Australia.

  • I really wanted one when I thought I couldn't get one. Now I'm meh about it

  • +1

First time I'm permitted 2 in the cart :)
    BTW not buying any .

  • +3

Don't see the RRP police here like on the 3080 / PS5 deals lol

    • I'd be locked up for life by them .

  • -8

This is just normal price RRP

Tons of consoles sold on gumtree and ebay for this price even less if you’re lucky

    Nothing to see here

    • You forgot price in US is around USD $400 .
      Hence no peanuts :)

      • -1

It’s plus delivery too so it’s a poor deal seen it inclusive

  • -5

Wow plus delivery too that has to be the worst deal on ozbargain so far

  • I love how people still go crazy over this, and yet some are complaining about the $499 Xbox Series S and are suggesting it should be $399 for black friday/christmas sales! Nintendo just know how to maintain value!

    • +1

create hype through "LEs" building brand and getting consumers to accept new high prices for less. nike, adidas, apple been doing this for decades, nintendo joined the party this generation.

      • Yep, they are smart - just look at their black friday deals. They almost never discount, just bundle in a game!

  • -1

RRP for unlimited supply console that has been in/out of stock 100x. No deal

  • +2

Hardly a deal. Funny how the RRP squad give Nintendo a free pass.

  • RRP for a product that keeps coming in and out of stock is not a deal let alone a bargain.

    See here for more information.

    • -2

Can you tell the RRP Police to fine all the Silent Striker's that take part of the cake when the deal sells out in mins tks .
Oops they don't get financed the Striker's do :)

WD you got 13 votes and the Strikers count their credits by the dough made .
      Its criminal !

      • -1

I literally have no idea what you're trying to say here, champ.

I will simply say, "OK. Good-O."

        • I know Bud that it is difficult to understand that is why they thrive in the darkness .

  • Why is this shit still those expensive o.o… even the games are a rip off, animal crossing is priced like a AAA game, meanwhile masterpieces full of love and effort like Ori go for less than half than it…

    • Because for Sony & MS it's a race to the bottom. Nintendo just chill and make bank.

  • +1

Ozbargain shouldn’t allow deals like this honestly, 2 months of this AC switch coming up for preorder once a week. Each time being heavily upvotes, there is no bargain here.

  • this is not a "deal" seen that regular price in most places.

  • +2

    OzScalp

  • +1

normal price, doesnt include Animal Crossing.
thats a no from me dawg

  • I wanted this for the longest time because I liked the shade of the green and blue controllers (yes I could just get a cover/sticker/replacement case but it just doesn't feel the same knowing it's not the proper thing!), till one day I finally noticed the the backs were white. Mad disappointment, immediate loss of interest lol.
