Go to below link and do a comparison before you take a decision…

  • Good timing. I'm considering my options with electricity providers atm. Would love to hear some thoughts on this. I'm in Victoria.

No Aussie owned. Just left them for Momentum cause they were ripping me off!

  • I just signed with cashback of $112 4 days back :(

  • Cash back 180 days. Locking you in for 6 months. Do some comparisons before committing.

I just run some calcs for my case. About $1070 first year cheapest plan for electricity and gas after $200 cash-back as compared to the runner up globird with the total of $1160 also cheapest plan, but no direct debit. The second year though, globird will be much better of. And once you consider paying setting up and disconnect fees, cause I'm not happy to pay premium rates once the first year ends, globird seems a better choice. Will give it a bit more thought though.
There's also powerclub option, which looks more promising, but also a bit more nuanced. Not sure if I'd like to know about tracking the always changing electricity prices that much.

I didn't have to pay any setting up and disconnect fees (I'm in VIC though).
The electricity part was just redeemed, still waiting for the gas part.

EA is not giving me any bill until after 6 months though, they just extended the billing period with another 3 months for me (so I'll get a huge bill near the end of the year).

    • you don't have to wait for the cashback to switch to someone else

      • If it's worked in your favour then that's sweet then.

So can you switch to them for a month then switch out to someone else and get the cashback of $200 paid?

'Cashback may take up to 180 days to be confirmed by EnergyAustralia' I read this as they won't provide the cashback unless you stay connected for up to that time frame, I might be wrong.

I signed up EA few months ago only on the gas via Cashrewards too, will I be eligible for the electricity cashback if I now sign up on the electricity plan?

    • I am in same situation.

  • If I sign up now but my connection doesn't go live until 12th October I still am eligible for cash back?

You cant sign up if you have solar shame

  • Do check your individual usage rates even after comparison on websites - I found the 'best' ones were actually more expensive than others further down the list when you break down the peak/shoulder/off peak/CL/daily usage/solar rebate into effect.
Currently with EA on their previous deal (28% discount) which is about to expire. Click Energy in my situation appears to be the go to.

  • No Solar?

Who is doing good deals for solar export.? In NSW.

  • Energy Australia is Hong Kong owned. I prefer to keep my money in Australia.

I did not have a good experience with this company.
I signed up my elderly mum and they screwed it up, in ways that got them more money.
For example: I requested monthly bills, they put her on quarterly. I added her senior discount. It wasn't there when I checked her account two months later and they did not want to back date it, so wanted higher rates for the entire large winter bill
Online help were polite but gave contradictory answers.
Their prices are extremely high compared to most other companies.
They suck people in with these "generous" offers then screw them over.
I 100% would not recommend these people.

Neg is for very high rates and bad experience with the company.
(sorry BA I like your deals normally)

  • Personally I've always found their customer service amazing. They are in Australia which is much better than some companies. I got $200 cashback a couple months back so will look at other options. I've been with them for 4 years.

  • Looking for any Solar best plan any offers if you can suggest. My origin plan with 21 cents FIT is finishing in Oct. Any 12 months extra FIT from any complany, thanks.

    • Cashback is not available on solar electricity plans if you are talking about this deal.

  • I've recently moved my account away from EA to another retailer. I wonder if there is a wait period before I can return to EA and still qualify for this CR offer?

    • I would like to know to for the gas offer

  • Damn expired already.
