This deal would only apply to geeks out there that have a Microsoft Technet Subscription and ready to renew.
Picked this up from Whirlpool http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1678703&p…

Had to share because I basically saved myself $78.

Microsoft regularly release 30% discount promotion codes but this applies to NEW subs. If you make a phone call you can get the discount for RENEWALS. I just did. I rang to renew and asked if a discount was possible - phone jockey immediately reduced my $260 Technet Standard to $182 (30%)

sweet.

Number is 13 20 58 (Option 3) - have your Technet subscriber id and credit card handy.

Gotta love Whirlpool.

    • works for me…

      • Sorry, should of been more specific. Whirlpool link broken. The link contains the … instead of the full link

  • does 'renew' include expired subscriptions ?

    • I'm wondering the same thing. Brand new US subscription is $199 usd vs Australian subscription $337 aud. Microsoft needs to get their pricing right.

    • A current subscription is clearly different to an expired one but it would be up to the discretion of Microsoft(or the particular operator) as to whether they would offer the same deal to expired subscriptions. I don't think they would publicise it as standard practice otherwise it would encourage people to let ongoing subscriptions lapse.

  • sorry 'bout the link have fixed it
regarding expired subs I would expect they will give you the same deal - all you gotta do is call - nothing to lose…

  • any code for the new subscriber?

    • There's currently not active codes for either new or active subscriptions, but Microsoft phones reps seem more than happy to give renewal customers a discount on request.

  • no code required for new subscriber - just ring and ask the guy

    • try that and no discount..:( no love for prospective buyer..

  • Just called and got the 30% discount on the renewal. Thanks for the post.
