uhh GP gives you full versions of games

        • +27

Why do you expect all the DLC to be included? that's just stupid. You don't need to buy the DLC cars and you REALLY don't need to buy the stupid treasure map lol trying to say it's an upsell is just stupid imo considering you're paying $10 a month for access to over 250 games.

            • +20

@nomoneynoproblems: IT IS FULL ACCESS to games what are you on about, that's like saying EB doesn't sell you full access to games when you buy a physical copy.. see how stupid that sounds. Just talking shit.

              • -8

@Mooncakes: Ahh apologies yes I was just talking shit. Microsoft would never nickel and dime customers. BeSt VaLuE iN gAmInG after all. As someone mentioned EA are offering full access to games but Microsoft aren't. How else are they supposed to actually make money of games for $15 a month.

                • +2

@nomoneynoproblems: so basically you buy too many dlcs and are trying to blame someone else for that instead

                  gotcha

              • -2

@Mooncakes: The difference is with EB games if you buy a physical copy then you own the game and can use it whenever you want with no subscription required. You own it. However with the likes of EA access and Game Pass you do not own any of the games. You are only hiring out a subscription to be able to play the (rented) out game. Stop paying for the (rental) and then you don't have a right to play it any more in fact they take away the access from you.

                • @hollykryten: And you can play offline to upwards of 3 hard resets then you must login…

Here's a lil secret no one knows, when the game pass game is about to expire, (I think this's on certain games definitely worked on grand theft auto 5, and rdr2) when then the games about to expire you can play it offline, even passed the expired date but must not connect to Xbox, you'll receive achievements too (when you reconnect at a certain point) the max limit is 30 days til the console needs connecting, but after a few hard resets it will ask you to log in.

If you play on cross platform, I noticed with ff9, if two saves are on one account but accessed from either platform, if you play ff9 offline even tho it was on the Xbox, and not pc… You'll get a instant loop where the game will take forever to load searching for the pc save, or a cloud save.

So that can be a problem, but all games seem to act differently, some are more stricter, no idea why where it will log you out.

            • +11

@nomoneynoproblems: They are the full games though. DLC is additional content that is released after the launch of the full game. By saying it's not the full game, you make it out like they only give you half the game or a demo. The value of Game Pass is insane as it is. Complaining that the DLC isn't included? Really?

I checked your post history. You're a PS fanboy, so there you go. No surprise. By your logic, I guess people are equally stupid for buying DLC to PS Plus or PS Now titles since you don't own them either, right? Or it doesn't apply if it's Sony? That's how the brain of fanboys work after all.

              • +3

@manbearpig: Actually this is not entirely true. EA Access on Xbox gave you all the dlc for a few games including Battlefield 5 and the UFC titles. Even now I can hope on Battlefield 5 with my existing EA Play subscription on Xbox and it'll register me as a premium member with all the dlc. So it is possible. Probably won't happen for PC though.

                • @mullman: Aren’t all BF5 DLC maps free, regardless of platform?

                  • @Usernames: Nah EA still want you to pay 50+ dollars for dlc in that semi dead game lol. You might be thinking of BF3 or BF4 which have had their dlc packs free multiple times in the past.

                    • @mullman: Maps are all free for me on PS4 and I assume for all platforms. Skins, weapons etc might be a different story. They stopped Premium after BF4.

                      • @Usernames: I have bf5 on pc and can't access the dlc so idk if its like that for all platforms

              • -8

@manbearpig: Meh renting games does nothing for me. There are some great titles on there but nothing that would make me a recurring customer.

I checked your post history. You're a MS fanboy, so there you go. No surprise. By your logic, I guess people are equally stupid for buying DLC to Gamepass or Xbox Live titles since you don't own them either, right? Or it doesn't apply if it's MS? That's how the brain of fanboys work after all. Lol

                • +5

@nomoneynoproblems: Well, you didn't check hard enough, did you? I have a PSP, PS Vita and a PS4. I technically have more PlayStation consoles than Xbox consoles. I just find myself having to defend Xbox all the time because they're constantly getting crap thrown at them by fanboys with agendas. I guess I'm not on 'your side' though because I also game on Xbox.

And of course Game Pass doesn't interest you; you don't have an Xbox. Your bias is making you not want to be interested in it. What's stopping you from buying a game on Game Pass? If you like a game and like it enough, you can go and buy it or buy it on the store at a 20% discount. No one is stopping you from buying and owning a game you bought DLC for if that's what you prefer. There is literally no drawback to playing games on Game Pass. You have no leg to stand on with that argument.

Oh, and EA Play is coming to Game Pass Ultimate, so you can't use EA Play as a basis to talk crap about Game Pass when it's a part of Game Pass lol.

                  • @manbearpig: Lets not forget Microsoft bought Bethesda for Game Pass lol

                  • -1

                    @manbearpig: Mate check harder.

But thanks for letting me know what I do and don't have. I don't care for any rental service whether it's gamepass or ps now. Like any games service, companies love recurring revenue and if gamers could see 2 feet ahead of them they'd realise it's the cancer of the industry. Last I checked EA play offers the complete edition of games for some titles, meanwhile you can bet your sweet cheeks MS will bend you over for DLC. Gears 5 anyone? 😂

                    • @nomoneynoproblems: It's funny how you insist MS are trying to nickel and dime you for DLC when MS are the ones who are offering the best value in gaming with Game Pass. Why are you trying to put EA on a pedestal when everyone knows EA is the biggest culprit of nickel and diming with microtransactions? You're comparing EA Play to Game Pass when they don't even compare. The value of Game Pass even without DLC is leagues ahead of EA Play with DLC. Why are you so fixated on DLC? How is DLC any different on PS4? You have to pay for it there too. You have to buy DLC when you go and buy games too. You're trying to single out MS when Sony are the exact same. Is DLC included with PS Now titles? No. So what exactly is your point?

Infact, out of the two companies, Sony are the ones who are trying to nickel and dime. Everyone knows how pro-consumer MS have been these last few years with Game Pass, cross-play, backwards compatibility, free upgrades to enhanced titles, forwards compatibility with next gen, etc. Oh, but I guess you're going to ignore all that because, again, you're a fanboy.

You're the perfect example of why I find myself defending Xbox more even though I game on both platforms. Thank you for proving my point.

                      • -1

@manbearpig: Because EA Play are actually offering complete editions of their titles with gamepass, meanwhile MS will absolutely wring your wallet dry for the DLC on their titles while claiming they give you full access. "here's the full game. Btw buy our DLC for half the cost of a monthly gamepass subscription for Gears 5". lol And you wonder how they're going to make their money back.

lmao 'pro consumer' i swear that's the latest buzzword fanboys are spouting from MS. But i guess that's all they can fall back on. Brb charging gamers to play F2P tiles online, Brb propriety everything (from chargers, headsets to storage), Brb lying about VR on the X1X, Brb. No one cares about BC but MS fanboys because all they want to play is last gen games, then when MS gives it to them only 1% of them actually use it 😂. Just more typical talking points, but no games. MS are only good for Forza Horizon (DLC nickle and diming aside). And they need all the defending they can get because they got absolutely taken to the cleaners this gen. While they were busy buying into the Kinect fad, Sony were building up their first gen studios and focusing on what matters. Games. But what do i know, apparently i don't have an xbox.

                        • @halil23: You've got to be a troll lol. No one could possibly talk the way you do. If you're 10 years old, I'll forgive you though.

                          OMG yOu $uPporT mIcRo$oFT you LoZeR!!!11!1!!!

              • +2

@manbearpig: However they are only the equivalent of game rentals. You don't ever own the game unless you buy it. In fact the game access can be removed from you at any moment any time when either EA or Microsoft idecides not to have it on their (game rental) service any more. Which definitely has happened in the past. Yes EA Access and Game Pass is nothing more than a game rental service under the guise of a subscription.

If you buy the game then supposedly the access to the game can not be removed from you.

        • +3

I guess EB Games and JB Hifi don’t sell full access to games either then? Why on earth would you need access to all expansions and DLC for a game to be worth playing? What a daft comment.

        • -1

Game Pass 'standard' gives you the base game of Forza Horizon 4.
Game Pass Ultimate gives you the Ultimate version which includes all Forza Horizon 4 addons.

          • +1

@guidedlight: Nah. I have Ultimate PC still had to buy LEGO. Car packs are still extra too

          • @guidedlight: This is not correct. I have 3 years of Gamepass Ultimate from the Brazil deal and it does NOT include any addons. Had to pay extra for them.

          • -2

@guidedlight: Typical of xbot fanboy to lie…. >_>
Have fun being a satanic micro$oft slave!!

            • -1

@halil23: You use a computer? What OS do you use? Email? etc. etc.

              What's with any 'fanboii'?

Do you think any major corporation cares about you or your interests? They only care to make money.

    • No, you won't need to spend with microtransaction.

    • It’s not like I bought that dlc anyway.

  • +6

So weird that at some point I already bought Forza 7.

Game Pass is weird in trying to figure out when and which games leave. I feel like they should have a system to label ones that will never leave (e.g. Halo etc.) so that you can choose to prioritise playing the ones that have a short lifespan. I started Dishonored 2 and like 2 days later realised it was about to leave Game Pass.

    • +5

That’s part of the marketing of it though. They hope that if you enjoy some games enough that if they leave you’ll purchase them.

      • But MS owns Forza. It’s like Disney putting their own movies back in the vault.

        • But … Disney have done that in the past ..

    • +7

First party games don't leave, they've stated this many times. 3rd party games last for between 6-12 months usually and you also get a 2 week warning about when it's going to leave. You can also purchase the game leaving for a 20% discount.

      • Well, except for Forza Horizon 3.

        • +3

Has Forza Horizon 3 been in game pass?

          • -1

@tonyamazing: It has. Forza horizon 3 had it's music licencing run out so microsoft pulled it from sale/gamepass.

Weird that they 1. Don't pay for a longer licence and 2. Don't just renew it or throw some generic music in, instead.

            • +1

@RI4V4N: I’m wondering if there’s other licensing issues beyond the music, such as cars themselves.

            • +4

@RI4V4N: I don’t think FH3 has ever been in game pass.

        • +5

Forza Horizon 3 was never in game pass so has never had a chance to leave it. Forza Horizon 4 was the first and only Forza game on the service until Forza Motorsport 7 joins it next week.

          • @matt30822: Forza horizon 3 is more popular then Forza horizon 4 I heard, not sure why, it doesn't have the weather system.

      • +2

Third party games can be random though. Like GTA V was available only for a few weeks. And Read Dead 2 left after ?3 months (and I didn't have time to finish it lol).
        I still (profanity) love gamepass.

    • Well Dishonored 2 is a Bethesda game (who Microsoft has recently purchased).
I think it may thus stay now as such.

    • +2

If you check your installed games on the Xbox, any that you haven't purchased outright will have either a "Gold" (games with gold) or "gamepass" label over them. Anything you've got a full permanent license for won't have a label.

    • I did the same, since the Bethesda announcement its back in (and not leaving)

    • Well Dishonoured 2 isn't leaving anymore so that's a win.

Assume third party games will leave in 2-3 weeks and if it's something you want to try then play it.

My view is that smaller, indie games stay longer because they're cheap to have in game pass and benefit the developer.

Larger games (like RDR2, GTAIV) I assume will be only short term as licenses are likely more expensive

      • +1

All these responses are great, but do kind of highlight my point, which is, it is confusing. First party Microsoft games are not labelled as locked in or anything, and others last ‘3 to 6 months’ but I’m not jotting down in some notebook the day they arrived and when they ‘might’ leave. Love the service don’t get me wrong. And thanks to the person who mentioned dishonoured is back!

  • +2

Are current EA Play/Access subs being converted to Game Pass credit?

    • Yes, there is ratios of it online I don't think it's 1:1

    • 4to1 (months) I think

      • +1
        • This is good news - I bought not very long ago and thought it would be too bad so sad.

        • Do you know how to claim if I have both EA Access on Xbox and Origin Access (or whatever the lower sub is called) on PC?

  • +1

Just in time for the end of Vic lockdown!!!

    • -8

      lol, we'll see about that.

  • This will especially be sweet when mass effect remaster trilogy comes out.

    • +1

+1 to that! There’s been teasers and hints online that it may be coming in the next couple of months. Let’s hope EA allow BioWare to just do what they do best and not meddle like what happened with Andromeda and Anthem. I bought all the DLC for every game, I wonder if that will carry over to Game Pass, too?

      • BioWare won't have anything to do with it - the original maker of the game almost always outsource for remasters.

  • +1

Anyone know when the Upgrade to Ultimate for $1 will end? I need to wait to at least 19th October to be able to use it :(

    • +1

I think its going to be release of series X/S so probably Nov 10ish

      You should be ok

  • Does anyone have any confirmation on if this will support Macs?

I don't play anything on computer, PC, Mac, or otherwise, but if this includes Macs I'll pass my Xbox account along to the missus for Sims and whatnot.

    • No not at this moment. Apple has a feud with Microsoft with letting the xCloud Streaming service aloud on Apple services.

      • +9

Tell them to turn it down if its too loud

      • Yeah xCloud is a whole other thing, and the issue AFAIK was with iOS on that, I'm talking EA Play / Origin Access / whatever they're calling it this week.

        • Most likely not because I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be accessible only through the xCloud app I think. But maybe it will work on Mac not 100% sure.

      • They don’t want it on the App Store which impacts iOS devices. On Mac there is absolutely nothing stopping MS releasing a client and distributing it themselves.

I’m sure we’ll see one at some point. Right now MS seems focused on mobile devices for iCloud.

        • I mean xCloud

  • Ahh (thought I'd never say this but) there's to many games on Xbox omg.

Plus has anyone seen Google play stores $6.99 for their version of game pass on their store front.

  • Excited for game pass to go with my new Xbox

Was never a fan of the current generation

Now I see myself playing Xbox more than ps5

Also with the ultimate pass as part of the Xbox purchase, I can play online without having to pay for a online subscription

So all third party games will be purchased on Xbox

  • It's a shame we don't get the option to stream/play on Android in Australia :(

    • Assie internet bandwidth is awful to cover the stream play I guess.

  • Next stop SEGA?

  • Hmmm, I had a EA trial memberships left I bought from 2016 for a few bucks, I used one back then. I just claimed the last one now because it will become useless in a week or so.

  • Anyone have issues with their EA Play?

I activated my one month EA Play and it worked for a few days, it now says my EA Play was converted to XBox Gold Ultimate.
And now EA my EA Playis gone.

They converted the EA Playtoo early!! So now EA access does not work, the should of converted it after the date???

    Idiots.

  • Is Nov 10 Aus time or US time and date? as I tried to play NFS Heat pre downloaded as per above comment, and it says its not ready yet to play.

  • Same here. Tried American McGees Alice. Got same message. "You're too early blah blah blah"

  • Has anyone’s ea play months converted to game pass yet ? Mine hasn’t. I still have an active ea play subscription in my Xbox accounts page

  • What does this mean (if anything) for EA Play Pro subscribers?
