      thanks, fixed

Should also be able to stack with TP-Link Redemption Promotion for 2x HS100 Smart Plug

  • Cheapest price I have ever seen. Thanks PO.

    • +1

yes, much better deal than when I bought mine in June which included T3U redemption which is useless than smart plug now

  • Thanks heaps. Got one.

  • Bargain

  • Thanks OP! Right on time! Getting 5G next week!

Wow! This is seriously cheap. I'm using them right now and they do the job perfectly. To be fair, so did my Tenda MW3s previously but I could never get over the nagging doubt about the potential eavesdropping from the Chinese government. Think about all of the IP that they've stolen since we all started working from home!

    • +6

Isn't the TP-link also Chinese company?

      • -4

i thought (mistakenly perhaps) it is a taiwanese company?

        • -1

TP-Link has always been a Chinese company that have been caught to have malicious backdoor on their routers before.

          • @dingdong3000: didn't realise that, ta for pointing out. did a quick google and a 2013 article confirms a backdoor. not sure if that case was poor programming or malicious

          • @dingdong3000: Fair enough. I had never read anything particularly bad about them on this site where as there have been plenty of comments when discussing the Tenda MW3s. Either way, both do the job perfectly and to that point, most people will be better off with the Tendas

            • @C0mbat: For some unknown reason, I am getting some random disconnects with Tenda Mw3, especially at night time, could be the nbn, but I am upgrading to Tp-link anyways.

  • Better than the Tenda Mw5Cs for ~$115?

  • Does this work for Belong FTTP NBN?

    • +1

Yeah Deco works with all ISPs.

  • Just paid $240 on Wednesday for a 3 pack shame but needed them prior to the weekend

    • buy this one and when it arrived, return it to the vendor you bought it for $240!

  • Got one thanks~!

    • I got Price error refund email…

  • +1

Thank OP! I've been hanging out for these.

  • Any deals for expanding with an additional unit? Seems to be over a hundred to purchase a single M5

    • +2

You can buy one of mine if it works that way?

  • Got one, thanks OP!

  • For that price you can get Tenda MW6 3 Pack. Is Deco any better?

    • +3

The Deco M5 comes with a beefier CPU, more RAM to handle more connected devices at one time, more powerful wifi radios and VLAN 802.1q support.

      Deco M5
      1000 Mbps WAN & LAN.
      Quad-core processor @ 638MHz & 256MB of RAM.
Dual band AC1300 with 4 antennas on each node.
      VLAN 802.1q support.

      Nova MW6
      1000 Mbps WAN & LAN.
      Single-core processor @ 1Ghz & 128MB of RAM.
Dual band AC1200 with 2 antennas on each node.
      No VLAN 802.1q support.

  • What is the difference in this compare to https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/tp-link-ac… which I have. I plug my extender currently towards back end of the house but I found the signal will drop out every now and then. It is not as stable. And if I am out in the garden, like 4-5 meters from it (one brick wall in between) then I often get no signal. Wonder if I should switch to this mesh one.

    • +2

I used to have extender and found them very unstable, constantly dropped out if heavily downloading, however, since changing to mesh system, it is no longer an issue, this mesh sytem is the best I have so far, it reaches to the end of my property (600m2) perfectly without dropped out or weak signals.

      • Now out of stock :(

      • +1

Ditto, the range extenders suck. The mesh is flawless

    • +1

An extender halves the speed of your network for each jump.
Mesh uses a secondary Wifi network as the backbone connection so your primary WiFi network can service devices at full speed.

    • Deco is a router and they can be hard wired together with Ethernet for an even more stable connection.

Oh flap me. Had it in the cart but by the time I checked out it was gone. FFS.

    • Yep same here :(

  • Have a feeling these will go on sale during Amazon Prime Day

    • Possibly, but note that Amazon AU themselves don't actually have stock (only 3rd Party Sellers).

      • Yeah, I reckon perhaps HT will do a deal on Prime Day who still have it in stock on Amazon right now.

  • How unfortunate these have sold out. I just cancelled my TGG commerical ($180 + ~$10 ship) order that was backordered since late August, and then went to check out with Kogan since it was cheaper and free shipping + free smart plugs. But now all sold out and left empty hand. At least no money was lost.

    • An that sucks. Why didn't you order before you cancelled?

      • High risk of holding too many units

        • just get both then return one that more expensive. This price won't last long as soon I posted here. If I were you, I bought it straight away since the other one is still pending to confirm

    • Yep, I've got x20s and M5s some wired, some wireless - works great.

  • Dam, just bought the 2 pack last week for $175 :(

  • Back in stock… at full price. Wonder how many they actually had listed at the discount price?

  • Great product at a great price. Paid 270 I think a few months back, although put it in as a tax deduction due to working from home.

  • This is mostly a good system.
Some devices seem to discon and recon when moving around the house tho.

  • I just got the dreaded "Pricing Error" email.

"As a gesture of goodwill, we would like to offer a free copy of ESET Mobile Security or ESET parental Control.
    "

    No thanks

    • Can I has

Just received the email too! What a load of BS.

  • same BS… received Pricing Error email. useless Kogan..

  • Yep, just got the same.

Kogan never ceases to disappoint me, if they just honoured their deals i might buy more from them instead of avoiding them except when they come up with a deal like this one that seem too good to be true … and it was!

  • And here we receive 'price-error' BS email… And we also miss out on TGG commercial deal….

Now highly likely on also missing out on 2 smart plugs if we don't see a new deal by 31st Oct…

  • Booooo! Pricing error email!

  • Bad form!

    • I enquired today, most stores are doing stock take and advised that orders will be backordered

      • True but wouldn't it be better to get in right now at that price (whilst the system says you can order it)…and have a chance at the redemption.
