  • Is this a game for a 7 yo? Sounds like it but would honestly appreciate feedback

    • +1

Yeah it'd be perfect for a 7 year old. Pretty wholesome game and the mechanics are easy to pick up.

My 6 year old likes it. Pretty addictive for them though

Crap xD now all the 20 + old are getting compared with the kids xD

On a side note. Just in time for the Halloween update. I think Nintendo promise to have on going update till Feb (at least till Feb)

    • 40+ spent a year playing Wii version.
This one must be even better.

My 4.5 year old happily plays it. He needs a little guidance as to the priority of what he does, but generally he gets free reign.

Beware, only one island can exist per console, so if you have a "family" Switch, whoever plays the game first will have control over the storyline, and will be the only one who can advance the main island development aspects.

As a result of this, said 4.5 year old now has his own Switch Lite.

    • My 6.5yo needed help to get started, a couple of days in and she was all good.

IMO this is the most over rated game on this platform. So much time needs to be invested before anything at all interesting happens.. The most exciting thing I saw was the nightly fireworks the other mont, and that was only because of an update. Is it any different if you are online or playing with others. As a stand alone one it seems very boring..

Some of the family are playing this, and watching it is mind numbing. I don't think it helps that the characters speak jibberish, your just constantly wondering around the same footprint collecting the same aimless stuff. Just saying. Sure there are lovers of this game are going to say what the. $50 would be a better price point I think.

It's pretty much meant to be a relaxation / sandbox game. I've only started playing it a month ago, but it's the sort of thing where you have to set your own objectives, rather than being guided by the game. Some people focus on the design of their island, some want to just accrue the most money, while some work to fill out their museum.

Given that it is the second highest selling game on the Switch, they're doing something right.

personally not my type of game but i can see the reason a lot of people play it. colourful, set your own objective, open world/sandbox sort of and completely up to your imagination. it's sort of like sims or minecraft

Actually prefer having this game digital. It’s one of those games that you want to play at the drop of a hat. Having to replace the cart every time to play it as often as I do isn’t pleasant. Sold my physical for digital. Physical is awesome for big single player games. But not short or quick bursts of multiplayer stuff.

Really starting to warm to digital only. Just my opinion though.

    • Yep. Agree on that.

Bought the game, put it it, straight away knew that I should have bought the digital copy. This is. Game you’ll frequently check in on.

Will wait for digital to go on sale.

  • It's down to $60 now today
