SOME INFO (for those new to their subscriptions)

  • They come in 2 x 250g for max freshness, and you can choose the frequency – delivered 1,2,3 or 4 weeks.
  • It is shipped free to anywhere in Australia.
  • IMO Their Porter St blend is a good one with milk-based coffee, costs $24, so with this offer, will cost $19 for 500g.
  • You can cancel at anytime, even after one delivery.
  • If you want to try other varieties, you should be able to cancel and start a subs for another variety.
  • I have also tried the Pioneer which is $26 for 500g, but found it a bit weak with milk-based coffee (just my own preference, of course).
  • All new subscription orders placed will be dispatched within 24-48 business hours.
  • Recurring payments are taken on Tuesdays.
  • Amendments on existing subscriptions must be made by Tuesday 5pm (Sydney time).

A seriously average deal. Apart from there being plenty of better coffee roasters, many of them do bigger discounts.

    • For example? I'm usually on Pablo and Rusty's but recently stopped ordering from them so I'm looking for a new roaster

      • Aldi single origin, colombia one is good

        • +1

It's really not. Tastes stale like all their beans but still better than Woolies and COles

          • @Orico: Then you'll have to learn to look for new batch. They look the same but are not the same

            • @lgacb08: I've tried Lavazza a few times and it didn't live up to my inner Sydney/Newtown snobby standards.

      • You get some good deals with Direct Coffee on this site. Five Senses is an outstanding roaster and their Compton Road blend is excellent.

However, the main roaster than I've been using for the past few months is Little Marionette. They supply loads of coffee shops around Sydney and you can get their House or Sanchez blend on a months subscription for only $40. I emailed and asked nicely and they gave me postage for free for a year so it might be worth you trying. I can cancel any time I want still.

        • Agree direct coffee are awesome . Publo
And rusty midget as well get Aldi beans

        • I refuse to pay more than $30/kg. So many roasters do deals where you can get 1kg for under $30 like Pablo and Rusty did recently.

          • @Orico: If you are talking about the deal posted by Neil recently, I was eyeing that too. The code expiry was supposed to be 31 Dec 2020, I waited and the deal expired. Well, the nature of things.

  • None zilch nada bah they have programmed their robots well. Target those who haven’t their Amex this way

  • Can anyone compare these beans to Inglewood or Code Black? Thanks

    • +1

Compared to Sunset Boulevard from Inglewood (the blend I like), the Porter St blend is just as good for how I drink it (with milk). I have not tried Code Black, so cannot say.

This is suitable for people who do not drink lots of coffee but still want to consume the beans very fresh - as they come in 250g packs.

I must say I am impressed with their customer support the last time I bought from them.

      • Thanks, if dispatched Wednesday, when did you receive it?

        • +1

Oh, actually the first time you purchase a subscription, it will be dispatched almost straight away (or rather 24-48 hours) regardless of what day it is. It is the next and subsequent ones which are despatched on Wed. (If you order on Fri, and have weekly frequency, they will skip next week).

The last time I bought, I ordered and 2 days later, I received it. Very fast delivery. But that was before the 4th stage lockdown. Not sure about now. I cannot remember which carrier they use for delivery.

I like the regular 2 x 230g samples offer that comes up regularly for $20 delivered:

    (nothing at this moment though)

    • Been wanting to try that - always the wrong timing (like when I am stocked with coffee).
