    • I was thinking the same but if you're working from home for the foreseeable future then there really is limited use for data and it works out pretty cheap at a monthly rate.

    Is it still the case you have to get a new blank Sim from Boost to port from Telstra prepaid?

    • Hi. If you are on Telstra Prepaid you will need to get a blank sim card from boost mobile. You can call them on Boost Mobile Sim Swap Number : 1800 100 933 alternatively you can chat with them as well to get one delivered to you. It normally take 2-3 business days to get one.

    Used to love the (old) $150 Plan (still on it), but am hesitate to renew come January, knowing that international roaming would be suspended from 13 Oct. The change means users will not be able to transact online businesses that requires a sms code (MyGov, Citi) logging on whilst overseas. There is no simple get-around - leave the sim in a spare phone in Australia and ask someone to relay the code to you?! Meh…

    • international travel is is not high on my list of to-dos right now,
      sim in a spare phone next to a camera and make it read messages loud.. hmm could work.

      • Receiving sms while overseas is a concern to me, not least because this is a 365 days plan. Unless one has a second connection, s/he will have to forgo mobile connection during your airport transfer (as a minimum). Is it vital? Probably not, but that's highly undesirable to me

          I have a spare phone that has Pulse SMS on it, and I access it via the Pulse SMS Web interface. Works well.

    • 30 days was generally the norm, I myself have done 3 months rotation with Belong, both being Telstra network with international calling

  • How’s coverage v Telstra in rural areas exactly the same?

    • In my experience, on par with Telstra.

      Boost is the only reseller with access to the Telstra retail network.

      I'm rural Victoria, crap coverage from any other provider except Telstra and Boost. I've tried other Sims that run on the Telstra wholesale network without luck.

    I've been using Boost for about a year now and I just logged in to recharge and found I could get a 12 month 80gb recharge for $150 which seems to be a good deal. They don't seem to advertise this anywhere so I guess it's just an offer for existing users…
