It seems too good to be true anyway.

Like usual they probably purchased some fakes from china, everyone will be happy until they reach 16.1GB and then the USB's will stop working properly.

Easy way to know if its fake: Memory and USB's have the one of the smallest margins in Australia. If MSY/Umart don't have the lowest price, its likely fake unless its someone like Harvey Norman doing something unusual.

LOL "like usual"… Are you familiar with NAND etc spot and contract prices overseas currently? (Hint: The HIGH price for 64GB is under $10 USD). None of the companies you just mentioned import USB storage directly, the current pricing on the market here is high. I've ALREADY tested the units using Flash Drive Tester v1.14 and they're fine.

        I don't believe you.

The cheapest 64GB usb on newegg (Cheap place in US) is $60 on special.

You want me to believe that a low volume small business can get cheaper prices then Umart and Newegg, and can import them all the way to Australia and be the cheapest in the world?

You also have to take into account that 100% of eBay sellers selling 64GB usb's for $50 are selling fakes, yet somehow you are not?

I'm guessing you purchased this from Alibaba, let me guess, they sent you a sample for you to test, you tested it and its 64GB, you then import 200 of them which are all fakes… this is the most common scam chinese sellers do.

If for some crazy reason I'm wrong, then you are welcome to repost this yourself after an ozbargainer has confirmed it and you'll sell a lot including a sale from me, but I doubt this will happen.

I'm all for being sceptical, but that's a god awful lot of speculation, there.

        • speculation?

          Its simple

Small business, no buying power = Cheapest IN THE WHOLE #%@#% WORLD

Big Business, big buying power = higher buying price then small business.

Just because I can't be 100% sure it doesn't mean that this isn't a very dangerous deal.

Because this guy has no buying power, we should be able to buy these direct from the supplier. Yet the only place we can buy anything as cheap as these is on Alibaba, a place with a high percentage of fakes.

Also quick search on Alibaba shows a likely supplier for this place

          http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/477622145/Promotional_OEM_…

Now if you guys think this is so legit, go buy direct from them instead.

Of course 64gb flash drives cost $10 to make, this is totally legit.

          Similar box as well.

Just look at their website, its all imported junk that you would expect on Dealextreme if they could somehow post it mixed with some products from Catch of the Day

      • Aren't the NAND Flash spot & contract prices based on 64G bit chips (i.e. only 8G Byte)?
Of course there is also some small cost involved in the enclosure, USB socket, etc.

  • hey guys,

i bought one just 25 mins ago, must have sold out pretty quick.

I'll keep you updated whether its fake or not. But generally eSold is good, i bought a few things before and all seemed ok.

"This is absolutely the BEST PRICE IN AUSTRALIA on a 64MB USB KEY"

It's probably the ONLY place in Australia where you can still buy a 64MB USB key…
    LOL

    .

  • what.. sold out.. prolly had 2 in stock

    • +2

200 units, 500 more on the way :D

      • Can you test the write speed of these flash drives and let us know?

      • best to do a H2w test on the full drive, sure it will take time but at least we will know if it's genuine or not. Flash storage cannot be trusted these days, even big companies make these mistakes IIRC happened on Ozbargain as well

        • He did say he did a test with flash drive tester, so I guess they are genuine 64gb usbs.

However, they probably have 4-5MB/s write speeds. No way am I hitting that.

      • hi,

how long does it generally take till i receieve the usb?

  • nice… shame that it expired so quickly.
