    AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | RTX 5080 16GB Gaming PC(ozb.techfast.com.au): $3299 after 7800X3D-5080-EOFY

    Shouldn't that be "$2998 after 7800X3D-5080-EOFY" ?

    • +2

Indeed it should and now does thank you

  • Insufficient stock

Unfortunately the following products are not available in the quantities you require

    • Where are you seeing that? I checked before posting and didn't see this. Might be a specific upgrade/option I can fix?

  • Any chance the ITX/4060 build will be in stock soon?

    • +1

Chance yes, when not sure. The boards are due early next week slightly delayed from Maxsun's end (customers have been notified) so we would be looking to have them all built before running another batch.

      • Have you guys started on the Ryzen 4060s yet? Any issues with parts we should be aware of?

  • +17

$10 say Taiguile still won't place an order lol

    • +2

      @Taiguile better stump up.

        • +7

If I was in your position I would buy the deal and rebuild into the Lian Li Dan A3. It should fit all the components as it is a Micro-ATX motherboard and the Dan A3 supports them plus big air-coolers and full-size ATX PSUs. The GPU mentioned (Palit GamingPro) is 331.9mm and the max length compatible for larger PSUs is 334mm. Longer GPUs can also fit with different mounting.

See at the bottom for compatibility.
          https://lian-li.com/product/a3-matx/

BTW, you can get the All-white model for $102 @ Centrecom with code BALI, which is what I've bought for my build.

  • +2

Props for the good quality PSU

EDIT: Oh the Silverstone was just for reference. Nevermind

  • +7

    any 5070ti EOFY deals coming?

    • Yes please would love this

  • +8

This system is great value for what you get and if you plan on not upgrading. +1 for sure.
The 5+2+2 Phases Digital VRM Solution on the motherboard wont be good enough for the high end Zen6 CPU's so you may need a new motherboard.

    • Are there any AM5 boards sub/around the $200 mark that aren't compromised?
I've been pricing up a budget AM5 build and it's hard for someone like me without the knowledge to understand what's good and what's not!
      Thanks

Was going to upgrade this year, but now holding for advancements in tech so I can eventually run GTA6 on better-than-minimum requirements:

    OS: Windows 11
    Processor: Intel Core i9-10900K/AMD Ryzen 5 5900X
    Memory: 32GB Dual-Channel Configuration RAM
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (10GB VRAM) / AMD Radeon RX 6800XT (16GB VRAM)
    Storage: 150GB Direct Storage-compatible drive

    • +1

3080 minimum? Shit i just upgraded to a 4070 late last year.

  • +1

It's so sad that I just got the same specs last week with $300 extra…

  • +15

I got the 4080S build from last year and love it. They are good machines and will basically devour everything you chuck it at it.

That said, buyer beware that there is one weak link in this build (and lots of other budget builds), which is the motherboard. Aside from the VRM issue raised by someone else, Gigabyte nerfs its entry level B650M boards by sneakily disabling PBO2 (even if the settings are there, they do not apply), meaning your CPU will never be really able to perform at its full potential. Based on that, I'd recommend checking if an upgrade to something like MSI is on the table, or maybe a Gigabyte Gaming X AX.

Aside from that you probably won't get the fastest RAM, but that's an acceptable trade off given the price.

    • +1

Interesting find. How did you tell they weren't applying?

      • +5

Well the fact that my PC was apparently stable under load at a supposed -50 curve offset was more than a little suspicious lol. Also SMUdebugtool wasn't applying for some reason. I reached out to gigabyte, who confirmed that PBO2 was disabled on this board for 'product design reason', whatever the f-ck that means.

Anyway, I hacked the board and cross-flashed it to a Gaming X AX using this technique, which enabled PBO2: https://www.reddit.com/r/overclocking/comments/1jnf1rx/bios_…

Screwing this up may brick your board and probably voids warranty, so YMMV, DYOR, etc.

        • isn't -30 the limit on these chips?

          • -4

@goig986: I'm sure if you give it another read you'll then understand why you're asking a useless question

            • -2

@DiscountForThee: almost as useless as your comment, go back to reddit

              • -4

@goig986: Could have taken the chance to have learning opportunity, but instead you're being defensive. Maybe try go back to being a better person?

                • @DiscountForThee: After looking online it seems after a certain update, possibly (AGESA 1.0.0.3) the valid input range was changed from -30 to -60 on some if not all motherboards, yet no real evidence that anything past -50 has any real benefit. https://community.amd.com/t5/pc-processors/how-to-optimally-… and https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/curve-optimizer-m…

                  • -1

@goig986: Mate your reading comprehension needs some work. If you read both of the earlier replies it may help.

But I've got a feeling that might not get the message across lol so I'll give the answer to you: the user's setting wasn't working. It didn't matter what the number was set to, the setting wasn't actually available to them. One or the ways they helped to confirm that the setting wasn't working was by setting it to something ridiculous.

Being "able" to set their curve to -50, and having zero impact on stability or performance, was sus af. The point of the story is that their setting wasn't operable, not what the limit may or not actually be (because again, the setting wasn't working).

                    • @DiscountForThee: Sorry at what point did I claim to not understand? It sounds like you're trying to turn my very clear question into some sort of problem solving for the user? If you can't understand 6 words…. I guess the one with the comprehension issue is you? I just wasn't aware you could set higher than -30, turns out you can with newer AGESA.

                      • @goig986: You asking that question is the same as asking "I thought the speed limit is 100km/h?" When someone just said that their car incorrectly reported a speed of 240km/h while still in the driveway.

The limit had no relevance to what they're talking about, and you asking that question highlights how little you understood what they were talking about lol

But also I'm glad you were able to discover search engines and answer your own question! :)

                        • +1

@DiscountForThee: Your analogy makes no sense, i'm not talking about what's being reported, i'm talking about what is able to be set. AGESA is a binary blob from AMD and those settings should be the same across all boards, working or not. Seems like you don't understand whats going on here lol. In this case it seems gigabyte is adjusting the AGESA to disable curve adjustment in a way that's not even tied to the bios UI.

                          • -1

@goig986: Okay, just as I suspected, your reading comprehension is… well, it has probably seen better days lol

It has been a long week and it happens to the best of us

          • +3

@goig986: It should be, but it allowed me to go down to -50. The only reason why I even tried was because -30 was stable so I was like "YOLO". The system being stable at -50 and subsequently SMUDebugTool not applying is what prompted me to reach out to Gigabyte.

            • @jdhau: Thanks for the info, ill check out that tool on my board!

    • +2

Yeah, not a very good balance for MOBO to CPU/GPU spec.

Overall a good price point in today's market though.

Bit crazy the 7800x3d's are priced at $700. I got one last year for $599 at a local store, and that was at the higher price point at the time.

      • +2

Last year i could have got a 7800x3d for $505 form an Ebay sale.. :) missed that so sad.

      • They have to cut corners somewhere to deliver this system at this price. Can't blame them as the machine does work, but it's important to know what you're getting when you pull the trigger.

  • +3

Tempted, but am after 9800X3D and X870 board…. rep, any chance of this combo please?

    • +7

9800X3D the price difference really isn't worth it due to the low price we're getting the 78 at. X870 I can do and will add momentarily. It will be Gigabyte X870 Eagle AX or equivalent. It will also require an ATX case upgrade (MSI MAG Forge 320R, Antec C3 or P20C).

      • +1

        Thanks! Amazing, much appreciated.

      • i bought one, cause u offred the x870 offer :) Thanks for responding to Kati

      • Could I get the X870 board on my 5090 order as well and would that fit the MSI MAG PANO M100R?

  • Oh my god. Great one. I'll have to sell my old system

  • Damn I was waiting for something like this but pulled the trigger on the 9800x3d - still a good bundle so not too mad

  • Do you have times in stock? What is the lead time? Realistically.

    • +1

10 to 15 business days. There are no delays like there can be at the start of the generation

  • -5

    I'm a simple man - I see Techfast deal - I upvote

    • -2

      The meat riding is insane

  • Any motherboard upgrade available Luke?

    • +2

I've just added X870 WiFi AX

  • Hi Luke, so would I need to upgrade the case if I choose the X870 MOBO? Also would be looking to pick up as I'm based in Adelaide which I believe you've said is okay but to just inform the sales team via email.

  • +3

just a warning, these guys have no clue what their doing with builds, they plugged AIO in syn hub, my CPU overheated and is now damaged., thanks to this. few others had same issue.

upgrade the motherboard, don't use one that it comes with. there is no AIO header. they didn't even use the CPU fan header.

    • +2

Did you reach out to them about the issue to try and get a resolution? TechFast has been great when I've had issues.

      • +1

I did but its to late, damage is already done because of this.

      • -4

        The white knight

    • I thought modern cpus had overheat protection. What is the damage that was done?

      • +3

it overheated a few times, shut down once. i had no clue what was happening. its working fine for now but its likely damaged long term.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/891317?page=4#comment scroll on all way down.

        • +1

It’s not ideal, and I’m not trying to defend what they did. I will say that modern thermal protection is good and it is unlikely you did any real damage.

In my experience you tend to outgrow a CPU before it stops working unless it has a manufacturing defect.

    • +4

Super loose details here mate. When did you buy your PC? Where can you link to others experiencing the same issue? What was TechFasts response when you reached out to them?
Why do you say it doesn’t matter when your stated circumstance would satisfy a warranty claim?

    • +1

Had a similar issue and now going through process of RMA that I need to pay for because no longer covered by them. TBH, not worth saving the $50 going with them and should have gone with a better company…

  • -3

Anymore 4090 deals like this one? 5090 is just too expensive.

    R7-7800X3D RTX 4090: $3973
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/833607

    • 4090 no longer manufactured

  • Is it possible to look into antec cx600m would be a popular choice imo..

  • Damn, this is a nice deal. Shame about the mobo though.

    • +2

Luke offered an option with better mobo, did you consider that? X870 board. Was enough to get me to pull the trigger

      • What's the benefit?

        • general consensus was that the MOBO to CPU/GPU spec was out, I would have preferred a better mobo, asked the rep and he added the option. Pretty chuffed with the deal now.

          • +1

@kati: I also bought one with x870. thanks for asking for it!

        • 14 stage VRM vs 5 more nvme, better vrm cooling, pci-5.0 nvme better all around, more features 6 layer 2x copper PCB

  • @luketechfast Do you know if it's possible to have this delivered to an Auspost parcel locker?

  • +2

its not just the mobo. so many junk parts to get it to this price.

i guess the intention is to rebuild it with better parts.

  • +5

    hmmm..
pretty much the worst VRM temps of all the x870 motherboards here
    https://www.techspot.com/review/2907-amd-x870-motherboards/

if all three M2 slots are used. two will drop to 4.0x2, and the primary CPU slot remains at 5.0x4..

  • +5

@luketechfast would love to see you guys offer some builds with more premium options - namely case & power supply. I know its not really your target audience but i think a lot of people underestimate the long term importance of a quality PSU

  • @luketechfast

Which brand motherboard is the "AMD X870 [ATX] Wi-Fi Motherboard"? (Asus TUF Gaming? MSI Pro? Gigabyte Aorus Elite? ASRock Pro RS?)

Also, very likely to purchase this if it's possible to get another, oddly-specific case choice: Antec FLUX PRO White Full Tower Case E-ATX Case. Please lmk thank you

  • I hope techfast sells some standalone 5080s or 5090s this year once the price settles even more. I already have a good system with a 4090, i'm just looking for a gpu upgrade. Not in any rush, since the 4090 is something i need for stable diffusion stuff im doing. But eventually.

  • anyone got theirs yet?

    • got mine 16/06/2025
