Wii Remote Plus $50 Myer - Brisbane City

61

Hey all,

Just thought I'd post this up as I was in at the Brisbane City store today.

There were quite a few of them left in all different colours.

Following a quick check around, the price seems pretty good compared to other retailers.

  • is it really worth getting one of these rather than a cheap rip-off via dealextreme or other?

    any experiences from cheap Wii-motes

I have a couple of cheap (Wü, lol) remotes, and they work fine
over 6 months and no problems, 1 of the Wü remotes is motion plus and that works fine.
      just my 2cents.

      lol. Wü.

When it comes to Wii remotes, you get what you pay for. The buttons and what not work fine in cheap knock-offs, but the motion sensing never works quite as well as the real deal.

    • imaximax1, i've purchased 3 Wii remotes + nunchucks from this deal here:
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55078

I've had them for about 2 months and they're perfectly fine, I can't speak about the motion plus, but they do sell a 'quality wii motion plus' and a 'genuine motion plus' at the same website, although I'm not sure how legit it is:

If you're looking for the remotes only, it works just as fine. Comes with a silicon case + strap. Btw if you're planning on buying an induction charger, do NOT buy it from there. I suggest going to jb for $40 the dual chargers and $50 for the quad -rather than any cheaper chargers.

  • They were going for $35 each previously at Myer when they had their alternating 50% off and buy one get one free sales all through October (and I certainly picked up a rainbow collection of them then).

Does anyone know when they're looking to have their gaming departments fully shut down by?

    • unless they go even cheaper it will be a while

  • Thanks for sharing - good price. I'm still waiting for them to drop under $40 but it rarely seems to to happen :)

Are these the genuine Nintendo ones? It doesn't say.

I VERY much doubt these are genuine Nintendo Wii Remotes.

    • No image on the website. Wonder how long it will last?

  • I'm gonna say that they're not genuine, but I've emailed them and hope to be proven wrong!

    • Please update if you find out, thanks.

      • guys they definitely are genuine! i am not a myer rep but i work there. And yes they did get as low as $35 and came in alternate colours.

        • We're inquiring about the ones from GAME, not the Myer ones. Myer ones way too expensive.

@Klone you should have replied to that comment thread then so others wouldn't get confused :)

        • Good call, Ashman247 - my bad :)

  • omg i was there today too
did you have to go down in the lift on level (i think 3?) 'cause the escalator was out of service, and that super serious myer bloke was in the lift? lol

  • Enquiry Detail: Hi GAME staff,

I was just wondering if the Wii Remotes you were selling here:
    http://www.game.com.au/wii-mote-with-motion-plus-black/ninte…
TMPBGW were genuine Nintendo perhipherals and if so, were they the Wii
Remote Plus or are they a Wii Remote with Motion Plus addon?

    Many thanks.

    Hi,
